  • Two sessions in June (recorded 11.06.21 and 17.06.21) fished at Bonningstedt Promenade marks in Seaford (East Sussex, UK). The first outing was fished in quite windy conditions, mainly on the ebb and the second was under still and humid conditions, either side of high water. The sea was clear both times and ideal for plaice, but other fish also made an appearance on the second occasion. Techniques, rigs, location etc. are covered.

      Thanks Stephen. Yes - not too keen on that idea at the moment. Its hard enough to edit out the bits with no fish being caught and have any decent viewing left! I wouldn't be able to do voice-overs, so most of the 'talk' would probably be moaning and swearing!

      Absolutely Mike - there's normally plenty of fish to keep you busy at Seaford. Elsewhere it can be a long wait for a few bites, but just as enjoyable - assuming you catch that is!

      Thanks Stephen - that might be pushing it a bit- sometimes you're lucky to catch in an 8 minute spell just before, or just after high tide! Plenty of footage gets removed or unused in a 30-40 min video. I had planned to keep them to about 20 mins, but now realise that it would mean splitting them and losing a lot of the context.

    Enjoyed every minute!, was a Seaford last week and the mackerels were in force, blanked on the bait fishing though the frozen lug I had seemed to be a bit off, going again this weekend for a session 2 hours either side of the high tide best try to get some fresh rag/lug

    Hi Mick. Not sure how or why but I seem to be permanently one video behind these days. Still, not really a problem...always got something to look forward to now! Two good sessions and a great video. As for length of video, I think between 30 and 45 minutes is just right so please don't change it. Cheers. Ken

    • @rodsangleuk6283
      @rodsangleuk6283  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Ken. There was a request for 8hr long videos - I'm assuming that's so they can run from 9am-5pm - a long tea break at work! I'm putting out three every two weeks at the moment for the next few weeks, all about the time length that you mention - then it will probably be back to one a week, most likely on Thursdays - it all depends on how hectic my coarse match fishing is.
      20 min videos are easier to put together and do the voice overs - I think that's better for single sessions; however many of mine are of multiple sessions, either at different marks of a particular locality, or trying to catch something different, or changing tactics after a poor trip. Thanks again for your feedback.

    Two more decent sessions . I was interested listening to your thoughts on the bait choices, my personal experiences are blacks work well in late winter early spring when the plaice first show then blows seem to come into play followed by rag in late spring early summer . This works for me on both east and West Sussex beaches ….. but then come the spiders and thick on the ground they are this year 🙄thanks for sharing another informative video 👍

    • @rodsangleuk6283
      @rodsangleuk6283  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks - I pretty much go along with what you say here. Sometimes, however you just have to use what's available to you at the time. Overall, I'm more successful using ragworm - but others swear by black lug for plaice.

  • @marvinappleby9110
    @marvinappleby9110 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hi , I really enjoy your videos, so informative, I notice you use the same two rods on most of your sessions, even down on Chesil in difficult conditions, I love how sensitive they are. What rods are they as I would something more sensitive that can still cast a 6-7 oz lead plus bait; or is there another rod on the market you could recommend for me that doesn’t break the bank 😂,
    Many thanks, Marvin

    • @rodsangleuk6283
      @rodsangleuk6283  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I do have a variety of continental rods; but generally find the Colmic 07s to be so versatile that I tend to use them almost everywhere - they are expensive though. I'm not that familiar with the vast range of alternatives on the market; since I'm not really looking to upgrade myself - although I am considering pier rods at the moment, if I can find those that suit me.

    Great sessions lots of plaice very nice ...when spiders are a problem I've found out srt springs on your snoods between the hook and a bait stop ...stops them from biting through the snood if you still want to use light line
