    Thanks for the videos. I just fixed our 40 year old washer in 20 minutes with $5 worth of parts on Amazon. New $800 appliances are crap and designed to fail in under five years.

    Eddie you are a genius thank you for your video now I do not have to resort to cleaning clothes on rocks, your video plus my engineer husband we are back washing clothes inside. Your videos are the bomb. Keep them coming.

    Thank you for taking your time to video and share this. Replaced the same blown capacitor for $2.15 and it worked.

      Glad I saw this comment. I have an older model that is stopping mid cycle and had a suspicion that it could be a capacitor. Guess I'll be checking that out tomorrow

    I have the same machine. Discovered F7E5 and F7E6 after watching your video. My machine takes for ever to run and doesn't spin to dry. Will comment later if I was able to fix it. Thanks for the video.

    Old school agitator style for me. No electronic controls either. A fraction of the price and they last forever

    I decided to go ahead and take the extra hour to read the instruction manual and found out that the fault codes actually tell you exactly what is wrong with the machine....with a wrench and screw driver I was able to fix the machine following the code indicators. The most complex problem is undoubtedly the control board capacitors if you get those fault codes....you have to know how to solder and buy capacitors to do that part....otherwise the parts are not that complex for the other problems...like in my case it was the drain motor being clogged with cotton balls codes F9 and E1....simply had to remove the motor with 3 screws and remove the clog and reattach....all fixed up...took only 1.5 hours.

    Thanks for the video. I have the exact same washer with the exact same problem and code and the exact same capacitor is blown. Where can i buy a capacitor and should i replace it with one of higher voltage like you did or just keep them all the same. 60 miles south of Tulsa and don't know if i can get those from Radioshack anymore and wife is pissed!

    To run diagnostic, make sure all LED indicator lights are off. You have to start at 12 O' Clock (at Normal) and rotate the knob counterclockwise until you get to 12 O' clock (Normal cycle) again. Then in 8 seconds you must go three forward, one back, one forward. That will start diagnostic mode. Then to get the code. You go one right, press start, then go right again. I have the same washer and that's how I learned to do it and works every time.

    • @Fasteddiesinhomerepair
      @Fasteddiesinhomerepair  6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      it doesn't matter where you start. its looking for the back and forth points and timing. cant do it to fast or slow and you and you cant do it back to back without doing something else

    • @Fasteddiesinhomerepair
      @Fasteddiesinhomerepair  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      turning it counterclockwise more than two points just resets the diagnostic initiation so that you can start the diagnostic initiation

  • @mikepawul9630
    @mikepawul9630 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Different Cabrio but the same blown capacitor. That's at least three on this comment section alone with the same fault so I have to believe there's something in the design of the board that makes this cap susceptible to failure. Anyway, replaced the cap for about $1 (16 volt) and all is as it should be. Thank's Eddie!

    Im working on a similar machine with out the digital screen. The start button is on the bottom right . Anyways the washer first will fill but the fill valve starts of slowly trickling then will fill more later on. Customer complains the washer takes for ever to go thru almost impossible to go go the next cycle and sometimes clothes come out wet when and if its done. I am suspecting the control board. What do you think? Maybe also be tue water valve thats bad. Im stuck lol

      sounds like the pump is blocked. there's a coin cech inside the tub but you will have to pull the inner tub to get to it and is probably ceased on the shaft. so good luck little butty.not fun

    I paid Lowes 687 dollars for my Cabrio and it is only 7 years now and gone over the hill. Red light blinks on and off and will not do a thing, no hum or buzz but just a clicking sound in the control box as the light blinks. Lid will not lock and it is a new lock and catch also. Control box shows good with green light on in it, so is it the motor?

    The Whirlpool Cabrio washer is awful. Bought new at HD thankfully I bought full warranty. After 5 repairs in a few short years I had the opportunity to inherit my mothers mechanical washer and dryer, which I gladly took and sold my Cabrio to my neighbor with a full disclosure of all repairs and receipts, sold for $150, I think I got the top of the line Cabrio which now I have learned never to do again. Yesterday my mothers 30 + year dryer died, I can get it repaired for $277 but not sure what to do. As much as I want to keep the dryer I think I need to buy a new one as simply made as possible. My 30+ year washer is still working well, so I am keeping until it doesn't. My opinion and advice as a senior citizen now, is don't buy anything that has a lot of computer technology because the repairs are many and can be very very expensive if you did not by a warranty. Buy a warranty if you venture to get one of these HE high tech washers.

    Hope you can see my question. I have the same washer. Just got it. It turns on but no water comes out. My hot water Fossett dont work. I just have cold water. Could be that the reason of the problem?

    • @Fasteddiesinhomerepair
      @Fasteddiesinhomerepair  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It needs both hot and cold to work now it doesn't have to be hot just supply water to both valve

    How do I do this if I don’t have a digital screen ?

  • @DeWittPotts
    @DeWittPotts 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    I had this very same washer and it was a lemon from the start. A month after we installed it the transmission went bad. It was still under warranty so they came out and replaced the transmission. 2 months later it went bad again. In total the transmission was replaced 4 times withing the first year. After that it always had issues from time to time with not completing the cycle. A few weeks ago the control board went bad. That was the last straw. I replaced it with a Maytag machine. I know Whirlpool and Maytag are actually the same company but I am hoping that the Maytag will last longer. The Whirlpool Cabrio is nothing but junk.

    I have the same washer with no digital screen. Stopped mid cycle with the lid lock engaged and I can't clear anything to open the lid to get the manual!!! Ive unplugged it several times... gone through the hokey pokey on the knob and I don't speak Klingon so I have no idea what the machine is trying to tell me! I dropped out of psychic school, my intuition is on the fritz and my gut is currently busy with last nights brisket!
    How in the corn bread hell do I unlock this blasted lid?
    I would chuck the entire thing out the back door if my favorite jeans weren't currently being held hostage within this sorry excuse for a washing machine....

      I think it might be time to call somebody. Unfortunately Im not a psychic either. If you have went through all the steps in the video already and it didn't relinquish its evil power grip on your favorite jeans its time to call a professional.
