    Spray PB Blaster in spark plugs and holes and fill up cylinder's.....and lit it set for 7 days...!! And repeat until free turning....!!

  • @toddboone3923
    @toddboone3923 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Should put some liquid wrench in cylinders to break the rings free. Because of water in the block . let that set over night . Then spin the motor over to build up oil pressure and oil to the cylinders heads. Hopefully that should get you started.

    It probably went nose down into the water when someone tried to cross a flooded creek bed. That happens all the time here in AZ.

      Sugar not soluble in gasoline anyway like sand,just empty out tank fresh gasoline. Sugar in gas tank no different than putting sand in there.

    You definitely should have pulled the plugs and put Mystery Oil in before you tried to turn it over. Pretty much the same procedure for any flood.

    *that SRX is not bad at all.betting that it was probably driven into some high water and that's the flood they are talking about. the air box being open like that it won't have any water in it.the fact that you got it freed up and cranking now, i'd say the motor is all that really was affected. now that you have it turning over i'd say it may have been driven into flood water and whoever owned it was too dumb to shut it off before it sucked up a bunch of water. the starter sounds like it was full of sand or something gritty too.never heard that before. that thing might be a nice little status wagon for you to sporrt around in looks like it will clean up really nice too*

    This car is obviously a fresh water flood car. Not too many signs but most of the electrical component goes most of the time. Also a lots of send kind of debris inside the engine. Learned 20 years ago that I never buy a flood car... except if I can get an exact same car as a donor car.

  • @dmeman1
    @dmeman1 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    I've got one of these...have fun with that starter. Also take the front timing cover off and replace the chains!!! They are notorious for breaking and when they do...it gets real bad...I know...last November it happened to me. Lol

    Meh, got a 2006 SRX, 138k miles on it, loaded with all the bells and whistles, 3.6l from auction for $3800. Needed new tires, coils, plugs and a battery but outside of that didn't spend anymore on it. I could have flipped it and sold it easily for $5500 and made a little bit but it runs really well so keeping it as a daily use vehicle. Outside of changing light bulbs, not a bad car to maintain.

  • @markmawson1
    @markmawson1 5 ปีที่แล้ว +14

    When they say flood it may have driven through a deep puddle and it sucked it into the motor because that air filter has got a dark water mark on it if you look closely

    Question . Before saying she is locked up did you guys try turning it backwards. I ask cause I have seen many people think their motor was locked up after blowing a head gasket only to find it was water locked. Turned backwards 1 rotation than spun fine

    Flood claim can also be made if a car gets hydrolocked (even if only temperary) via hitting road pockets of water, ie; large puddles after heavy rain(s).

  • @Mercmad
    @Mercmad 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    It's an insurance scam. Someone has claimed against their insurance saying it was in a flood.The lack of care shown to the vehicle says the owner drove it till it died then got a quote from a workshop for more than it's worth.And maybe topped the engine with antifreeze instead of oil?

  • @jasonc422

    I was told that flood cars are not good for resale cause the water affecting the electronics for airbags and stuff like that. Also, maybe the front end only got water in it.

    The cost of a new air filter that fits a SRX - $7.98.... The cost of making Randy go crazy on why or why not this was a "flood car" - Pricele$$.... Honestly, You could easily make your money back if needed via selling the lights, interior trim, and other parts - there has to be at least $1500 - $2000 in money there - You might even get something for those wheels if you light up the "Bat Man" signal!

    Always assume with flood cars that the engine was running when the flood happened. If the engine was running then it probably sucked in water which does not compress. The engine will then stall with a 'hydrolock' situation, basically a cylinder gulps in water then on the compression stroke the engine stops 'dead' because it cannot compress the water. This stress on the engine means that something usually breaks or bends. Removing the water from the pistons will quite often allow the engine to start but the damage is already done and it could take thousands of miles for the problem to show. I realise that this engine eventually failed. I suggest it gulped in water causing hydrolock. When you were 'unseizing' the engine the resistance was due to water in the cylinders which by agitating you worked into the sump. Odds are that this engine was running when it was flooded, but at best someone tried to crank it before it came to you so the same symptoms. There is no way you can tell if hydrolock has occurred, even if the engine is running and driving, so you should assume that they're damaged and maybe budget to replace the engine anyway.

    "NO NO NO " For locked up motors you pull the spark plugs first, then fill the cylinders with the oil let it sit overnight then take the breaker bar and work the crank back and forth trying to break it free !!!

    There is another youtuber (autovlog) He went through just a bit of water, and another car splashed water that got into his engine. It was hydrolocked and sold as a flood car. Not sure if that might what happened to this one? But, anit freeze in the oil? THAT is a mystery....
