For me, New Vegas 2 would be a remake of the game using as much of the original developers designs and restoring as much cut content as possible.
I would really rather not see an actual sequel to the game, but rather see the game given the development time it didn't get in the first place.
If they can make stalker for consoles they can make a fallout NV 2

Stalker on consoles is super bugged, lotta people saying clear sky and another one have game breaking bugs and crashes near the beginning, I’ve only been playing soc and it crashes a LOT, and always at certain spots, not sure if they plan on patching that

Challenge with FO:NV2 would be if it is a direct sequel then there would need to be a canon ending for the main quest and the factions.
If done correctly there could be another developer owned by Xbox with the guidance of Bethesda to make FO:NV2.

I highly doubt follow up. New Vegas 2 would live up to the original simply because a lot of the developers have probably moved on to other companies, Left the industry or retired.
It's doubtful it would be any better than the outer worlds.
I think there's actually a second component a lot of people don't realize as well. Making games now is simply a lot more expensive than it used to be when fallout New Vegas was developed.
Not only has the cost increased but now also the amount of time it takes to develop a game. That means you never going to get all of the content and all of the choices and freedoms and different endings and different possibilities that we all love to build the original fallout New Vegas game.
Aside from maybe BG3 that just is almost impossible to happen anymore.
While i would love to see a "Fallout New Vegas 2" game in the same "style" as FONV, no way i would want to see anything close to Las Vegas as far as a Fallout game goes like some people are clamoring for. Heck, go to Seattle or something. And the Obsidian guys are all gone anyway. (i do understand that some call it FONV2 just for that fact)
Apparently according to Jeff Grubb there were discussions within Microsoft (after they bought Bethesda) discussing early plans to make something in the vein of New Vegas (a Fallout spinoff made by another studio) back in 2021.
By current projections; ES6 won't release until 2026/2027 at the earliest, and even though Fallout 5 is in pre-alpha production (being liberal here) we probably won't see that until 2029/2030 at the earliest. Also Fallout 76 was released back in 2018 (it's now 6 years old) and was pretty controversial.
So there's a definite possibility that Microsoft will want to make money off the Fallout franchise whilst BGS are working on ES6 (and we wait for FO5) so making a spinoff in the vein of NV is definitely the way to go.
My only issue is that I don't want Obsidian to work on this spinoff solely because I simply do not trust them (between Feargus' being a dogshit manager, and J.E Sawyer being an insufferable neo-liberal nowadays - combined with the eiffyness of the Outer Worlds and the billion other games Obsidian would be working on at the mean time and not forgetting all the talent that made NV great simply isn't there anymore) - really I would want the Fallout spinoff to be a joint venture between Obsidian and InXile (the wasteland sequels are apparently really fucking good - they just are not my genre of RPG) whilst bringing back Chris Avellone as a writer (He hates the Obsidian upper management but since Microsoft owns Obsidian now, he could probably just answer directly to them being a contractee)

Outsource the remasters to night dive they did such a good job with games like Quake. Though they only have done boomer shooters so I wonder if they’re capable of more recent shooters
I feel the fallout tv series is a replacement for the idea of fallout new vegas 2, I'd love to see obsidian make more fallout games (and even an ES game, they suggested concepts)
i dont mind that we probably wont get another obsidian made game, but bethesda dont want to do it.
I do think if ES6 & FO5 sell bad or something happens that ruins bethesdas name (even more) that xbox will take full control and bethesda wont be able to be picky anymore.
I’m still holding out on Fallout: Ohio Wasteland. It’s pretty much the same as today, but with power armor and rag doll physics.
well considering the canon in the tv series itd be cool to see a vegas to happen leading up to the tv show kinda :P

If Bethesda didn’t want to get grief for been outdone when it comes to making Fallout games, if they were to outsource the game, it must cause them to realise ‘well damn, maybe we should take it in our own hands and actually put time and effort into the game to ensure it’s stable, bug free, and an actual deep and complex RPG.’

The only person who decides if we get NV2 or remasters / spin offs is Phil Spencer. There’s no chance in hell MS is willing to wait around another decade for a new Fallout game. In the short term I wouldn’t be surprised if whatever remasters we get are done by contact studios while Bethesda works desperately on a Starfiled expansion that adds an actual worthwhile open world to the game. In the long term there will probably be spin-offs by other studios and if Todd doesn’t like it he can take his almost certainly mind-numbingly large retirement package and bounce.

finally we made it to Chicago until Bethesda took the license I threw us out to DC.
Van buran would've been another post apocalyptic California, glad they changed it to Nevada.
though 3D California would've been nice for one game.

I’m worried that the tv show does well and makes Bethesda think they can take even longer for a new Fallout game, if their ends up being 2, 3 or even more seasons of the show, even though I am very excited for it, I don’t want the tv show to do *too* well lol, great content as always man!

Honestly, I think if the TV series does well then it would encourage them to get Fallout 5 out faster to capitalise on the hype!

@@GS01010 as things stand right now, fallout 5 is 2030 at best. Elder scrolls won't release at best end of 26 probably at the end of 2027.

No, I would rather explore the rest of America and include my homeland Hawaii instead of being in the same state twice, not counting Fallout 1 and 2. Fallout New Vegas is already a good representation of Nevada. There is no need for a sequel, or this will lead to many future installments for another 10 years. Also, I'm still waiting on Fallout 4 Next Gen update for my Xbox Series S
Agreed. If we got a new Fallout game every couple of years I'd be more open to it but considering we only get 1 new Fallout every decade if we're lucky, I'd much rather see somewhere new
@Light-YT Mahalo for understanding, for I crave to explore a new state, especially Hawaii, Washington and Alaska after the Great War. Just to clear things up, we can only praise Fallout New Vegas so much until it becomes dated in comparison to Fallout 4, 76, and Fallout 5 gameplay wise and not storytelling wise. Heck, in Alaska, we will finally get wishes granted for a NUCLEAR WINTER...lol. If we like a particular Fallout, then just simply remaster like the supposedly Fallout 3 Remake by Bethesda with cut content and possibly a mod option for console plebs like Fallout 4. I don't have a PC, so I'm supporting the fact that we can have mods on consoles.

Look at The Outer Worlds for proof. The old writers of Fallout 1, 2, and NV are no longer there.

Will there be a spiritual successor to F:NV? Of course. Will there ever be a true F:NV2? Absolutely not.
LOL the fallout IP would be better handled by the New Vegas devs literally any day of the week. I can't say Obsidian deserves it because Outer worlds was absolute dog, but more actual RPGs like New Vegas would do nothing but make fallout more popular. Bethesda has no idea what they're doing and you'd know that if you even glanced at Starfield.
I Really hope they just let obsidian make the next fallout game ...
