I still think they should prioritize showing more common American guns, or at least, guns that were actually adopted or imported to the US. -For anyone confused about the Import law, I meant that private citizens, in general, cannot import foreign firearms. It's a huge hassle and requires permits and all that. Big firearms manufacturers do it all the time though, they have the time and money, so they go through the process. That's why we have a bunch of foreign made guns and ammunition here in the US. For a MTS-255 specifcally, well, it's probably near impossible to obtain. Especially nowadays, Russian guns and ammo were completely banned from importation due to the war in Ukraine.

This is blatant because they changed multiple things about their own shows rules just for the plot, while stuff like the escape in Star Wars a new hope is subtle because they put an in universe explanation, that made sense and was consistent with the rules they had established

Dude, I would love to see your opinion on the guns in Fallout, especially with you being a pro gunsmith. They can get pretty wacky, beyond my human comprehension. Of course, I know there's exceptions to import laws. I put a caption on the screen stating so. Big dealers and manufacturers import all the time, that's why we got a whole bunch of foreign guns here in the states. I meant in this case, for guns that aren't currently in the market, a private citizen can't buy them online from a shop in russia, and have it shipped over easy peasy. Whole buncha restrictions on that, especially since russian guns specifically were banned outright a few years ago

the AR platform is present but wasn't standard issue to the army more likely was used like the R91 in some form of national guard etc they wanted fictional abominations cause its set in an alternate timeline 50s era the AR platform dosnt really fit that look even with its wooden furniture but i still love the service rifle from FONV . I can agree the NCR was kinda mistreated but its been how many years since shady sands fall guarantee that would put strain on supply lines and stockpiles of weapons and armour plus the NCR we see dont seem like a well outfitted unit more like rage tag settlers that used to be apart of the NCR at shady sands
@@zackbatcountry3361 Its specifically stated Shady sands was the FIRST capitol of the NCR. That implies the government, the military and all the cool gear have moved somewhere else long before the bomb. Which also implies these guys are picking over the remnants of what the NCR left behind.
I love the idea of most fallout guns being weird franksteins made post war, with pre-war guns being rare and mostly better. But bethesda makes the guns cartoonish and just bad designed, this could have been done way better.
Open-bolt submachineguns are extremely simple. You can make one in a shed with hardware store parts. What you _won't_ be able to do easily is cut rifling into a barrel. Other than that, magazines are the hardest thing to make from scratch; handcrafted magazines are almost always a bit finicky. If you have access to a crude improvised machine shop (very doable in a post-apocalyptic setting) you could make something a bit fancier, like a Sten gun. Still basic, but much nicer than handbuilt.

0:13 hurts me as an autist. It's mostly an NCR service rifle, being a wood-stocked M16-A1 build. Very classy ... but the Lower receiver is marked M16-A2 while having a full-auto position that is clearly marked "Auto"
one thing i wanted to mention is that, its fairly common for ww2 era submachineguns to be held by the magazine, ironically as an anti jamming measure due to inconsistent feeding, not sure if this was particularly a thing on the sterling but i believe atleast the grease gun suffered from it
I mean, I get people gushing over real life weapons showing up in the Fallout TV show for the NCR. But in Fallout New Vegas, the standard issue rifle for the NCR Trooper IS the "Service Rifle", which is clearly based on M16. So why the hell aren't the NCR troopers wearing their standard issue armor and using their standard issued rifles?
Like that other guy said, the M16 and it's derivatives are still known to the average person as a "modern" assault rifle. So even if you gave it wooden furniture, it doesn't fit Bethesda's vision of aesthetics, that being "cold war, ridiculously sci-fi or a californian having a bad LSD trip and drawing the gun he saw when he wakes up."
@kielbasamage Sure, but here's the thing. The M16 was made during the Cold War. So it doesn't make sense to not include it simply because people see it as a "modern assault rifle". Look at New Vegas, hell, look at Fallout 1 and 2, those games had both modern and Cold War Era weapons.
@@CanadianTehGamer Yes... but you're looking at games made by Black Isle, not Bethesda. You know, the same people who designed the Combat Rifle and Assault Rifle in 4, and the Combat Shotgun in 3. They can't really be trusted to make accurate assessments on firearms, so it stands to reason they'd think a M16 rifle would look to modern, so they'd be willing to replace it with something more akin to a M14 as imagined by a pulp sci-fi writer as the excessive dose of LSD atomizes his neural pathways.
Fun fact about the 6520: there is a f4 mod that adds the 6520 and a different version that quite literally fixes the 6520 by making it a break action revolver and adds a version thats just the model without the revolver chamber making it mag fed. So basically the mod split the magazine system into a new gun.
The gyrojet was crap for a few reasons. The big one was that it was inaccurate as hell because it didn't leave the barrel at a reasonable speed. It gained speed over time. Meaning that at short ranges it was likely less than lethal, but also things like wind had a disproportionate effect on the trajectory at the muzzle and for several yards thereafter. I have thought about how to fix these, and Fallout may have used a few of my ideas. Or lucked out. If you made a 12 gauge round, filled with a gyrojet motor instead of the wad, that was ignited by the powder, it would effectively be a 2 stage rocket slug. Initial velocity would be good, and final velocity would be better. A two stage would have one problem, flight stabilization. You could add in spin actuated fins to solve that problem. As the projectile is spun, it moves the fins into position, which would then be locked there by wind resistance. Add in a sabot to make the whole thing sub caliber to prevent detonation in the weapon and this system could work, exactly as depicted.
So, Thaddeus was actually semi-brilliant for the scene with the classic 10mm imo. To me, it looked like he was kinda untrained and undisciplined. (which was the vibe I kinda got from the entire BoS, something happened and they've changed drastically on the west coast) To me, it looks exactly like a poorly trained recruit. Now, the lack of recoil is unexcusable though.
my theory is the show chapter is really degraded from their previous high, possibly having lost energy weapon technology when they integrated with the legion remnants

There is an American shotgun revolver in both pistol lengths and a rifle stule. Its the Judge. I have it in the 6" barrel for my truck gun. As far as the revolvers not being able to open, look again in history, i have 5 different revolvers like this, where only a slide one a single chamber is accessed and you reload one at a time. If you need a modern example like at the American Heritage line. Agree with you on the self reloading revolver though. It was researched and a few were made birth in the UK and Germany that i saw on forgotten weapons but they jammed more than fired. There is modern bullets in service that ejects fins and is "steerable" to the marked target. It's only for military use, but the rounds are there.

The reason for use of so many exotic/"alien" weapons is probably to make it look more sci-fi-ish. If everyone was waving an M-16, it would look too current, even though it would make most sense.
I get you're obsessed with real, modern firearms since this seems to be a focus of a lot of your mods - which is fair enough - but they've kept this series far more in-line with Bethesda's vision of Fallout than I would've ever thought. Fallout has always been, at it's core, rediculously and comically exaggerated and not supposed to be 'realistic'. They have perks that make people explode into bottle caps, have a mythological spirit that appears to shoot your enemies in gunfights, giant mutated everything and soldiers running around in gigantic mechanical suits that can throw cars and tank missiles. I don't understand the complaining, if you dont like the weapon designs in the Fallout series then that's fine, but you can't complain that the series didn't change Fallout at its core for the purpose of 'realism'. They, at the very least, made the massively oversized assault rifle only be seen utilised by soldiers in power armor (wish this was a game mechanic, also wish this included mini-guns).
The US in Fallout’s universe did adopt the FAL as it’s service rifle but the American variant is called the R-91, it’s chambered in 5.56 and is prominently seen in Fallout 3. Also in Fallout 3’s Operation Anchorage DLC we see them in use by the Pre-War US forces retaking Anchorage. A specific commando unit the “screaming eagles” also used a variant with AR-10 style furniture.

The 6520 is clearly a six shot cylinder if you look at the sprite. I’m assuming that it’s a Webley style autorevolver with an integrated torch and laser sight. And chambered in 10mm Auto for extra badassery points. Not sure if the cylinder swings out not, though.
In the show, only guys in power armor use the gun called "assault rifle" in Fallout 4. The show improved on the game depiction and didn't use the erroneous name.
The sad thing about Cooper. He's played by Walton Goggins. Who played Boyd Crowder, in the TV show Justified. As well as similar characters in other movies, and tv shows. I think he did some range shooting for his role in Justified. So he does have experience with handling guns. He does look like kinda frustrated in that clip where he's supposed to be reloading the rifle. He probably sat there thinking about how ridiculous. The scene is going to look.
Tbf, the lever action was screwed from the start, they enlarged the barrel for that round Cooper tries to load, but the loading gate is the normal size
That shotgun pistol that the ghoul guy uses was using a varaint of the grenade slugs that were showcased for the aa-12 automatic shotgun. So long as it ran 12 guage it would run those decently well
The T-60 Pistol being a post war gun would make sense, since the Desert Eagle models would become more and more rare, they would reverse engineer what remaining Deagles they have to create this More "maintainable" weapon with the resources they have, as they wouldn't be able to really recreate all the original parts of the gun
That's not a MTS-255, it's a short modification of MTS-255, but it uses non lethal rouds (rubbers bullets) and it was designed to used by Police. And name of it MTS-255-12
@@milenium3082 The shortened, non-lethal variant is actually known as the OTs-62. Basically the same gun except the OTs-62 is typically seen donning polymer furniture instead of wood, on top of being shortened. Either way they're only a visual reference since the gun in the show appears to be single-action and reload from a top-break instead of swing-out cylinder.
I have no idea why anyone would have wanted to put in that hideous "Assault rifle". Also Bethesda Ghouls friggin suck, They should look like grotesque rotting corpses, not burn victims.
A grotesque rotting corpse would not be able to convey facial emotion nearly as well as a Bethesda ghoul, would significantly increase the tine needed to apply makeup and would generally be disgusting to look at, which would be a pretty major turn off when one of the most prevalent characters in the show is a rotting corpse

All I know is there are both realistic and unrealistic weapons in the fallout universe and now it’s confirmed I can feel a lot better about jamming all those weapon mods into my load order.

My head canon for the assault rifle is that it was made by the bos so theu could use scavenged ammo but the people making it only had experience making/using energy weapons. So they added a bunch of stuff on there that didn't really need to he there making it only useable with power armor.
Let’s just say the Giant Steel uses Sabot shells and the sabot itself is so small that you never see it when the round leaves the barrel. Then the fins flip out instantly like a HEATFS shell from a tank. This would also explain how there is a small dip in the middle of the round, a space to euchre the sabot maybe.
12:35 has the aesthetics of a laser weapon. But there's casings flying out the top. 19:25 ghouls are also treated like zombies. Maybe he has ash for blood? Or his coat offered protection against the needle. 32:50 Forgotten Weapons even had an episode on some confiscated in South Africa. They were made of mining equipment and match heads. The Metro trilogy has several examples with proper ammunition being used as money. One weapon even uses air pressure to launch ball bearings. 43:57 also make it less accurate but I don't think it really matters when you're trying to fistfight Smokey.
Cooper drops the mares leg when punched and flying through air, then its in his lap next scene. So, I'm guessing he just selected a second one from inventory?
In case of rocket bullets i have a few things to say. 1. This is 12 gauge rocket so it can have not significant but still an explosive payload. 2. Rockets can be "shot" out of barrel and then the booster kicks in.
I’ve been thinking and we’ve never seen Lucy shot other ghouls with the tranq gun so maybe it has something to do with their systems being messed up by radiation.
I could kind of imagine a mag fed revolver working. like the cylinder is a normal cylinder but has slots cut out on the outer side of the cylinder to pick up the bullets and drop them out. guess if you wanted something more reliable then a semi auto but with more capacity. in theory the reliability would be more on the mag then anything else
That one irked me the most. I mean really, shooting from the one point where there should be no barrel with 6 barrels pointlessly spinning around it? All they had to do was move the muzzleflash.gif up a bit for it to make sense, but Hollywood just had to be Hollywood.

About tranq gun on Cooper. He’s a ghoul. You could say that ghouls probably have better resistance to chems (aka drugs), since canonically they are immune to radiation. Long stretch but plausible. Or he could have the Chem Resistant perk.
I just want to point out the irony of him using Brandon Herrera's video on the Luty SMG. The whole point of that gun was to protest the futility of gun control laws in the UK by Philip Luty, a man with 0 training or experience in gunsmithing or gun design, design and build and easily replicable SMG and then widely distributing the instructions. In fact; that could be why the pipe guns in Fallout seem so standardized. We know that the in-universe lifestyle magazine "Guns and Bullets" did at least one issue discussing homemade and improvised firearms. I don't think that it'd be much of a stretch that G.A.B. might've published other improvised firearms issues, and included some sort of instructions. That could give us the explanation that all the pipe guns look so similar because they're all working off the same readily available blueprints.
28:35 I believe it was clear that Cooper's revolver shotgun was intentionally loaded with multiple types of ammunition, as his bandoleer showed a variety of distinct bullets and the camera specifically highlighted when he loaded the anti-power armor round with its unique, pointed design. It seems that ItsYaBoyBrandyBoy is COMPLETLEY misinterpreting this weapons ammo as he keeps referring to it as a rocket despite it making most sense to be a diverse set of specialty shotgun slugs like 12 gauge in fallout new vegas...
The assault rifle would be far less cursed if the assault rifle was considered the smallest gun allowed to be used in power armor and pipe or small handguns wouldnt fit in the armors hands. That would make the question of power armor or normal armor more interesting but it still needs a lot of work
The Ghoul's revolver is clearly not firing gyrojets (there's no flame trail or even a miniature motor, as you can see with one of them with the words "BOOM" engraved on it) it's more than likely these are shotgun grenade rounds that use full-brass casings instead of regular brass-plastic shotgun shells which explains both the fins and the explosive payload. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FRAG-12
I like the T-60 pistol. Han Solo’s blaster is just a Broomhandle Mauser with random junk slapped on it and that’s iconic, I feel similarly towards a lot of Fallout weapons including the T-60.
I forget who it was, but there was a state senator or something like that who was anti gun and made a video of her destroying an AR platform rifle she bought. She literally just sawed the barrel down to a few inches
In fallout the ghoul said he served in the military and used a set of power armor so he knew where the weak point was which is how he shot the other person in power armor but he could have do the same with maximus.

Also, when it comes to PA durability, it's noted in lore that the Communist Chinese and NCR have great trouble with PA troops, so that could mean even AMRs don't go through super easily

The FAL likely comes from Canada, since it was the standard issue rifle for them for a long time, though it also came with top loading functionality and wouldn't look like a typical FAL. Also holy shit the way he knocks back the mag on the AR-15 like it's an AK mag looks wrong on so many levels.
The Fallout 4 10mm Pistol is a better design than the Fallout 1 10mm Pistol, y'all just won't admit it. It looks cleaner, more comfortable, and it has an actually functional design, but _nooo, Bethesda made it so it has to suck._ No, it wouldn't weigh 8 pounds, it isn't made of tungsten. Having curved edges is apparently bad, until it's on a real gun like the AUG, then it's cool and futuristic. I am sick of listening to your babyish whining about a perfectly fine design at every chance you get, it's generally intolerable. Pick on a different gun already, no one likes a comedian repeating jokes. Still a good video, I just had to let off some steam.
19:00 Well let's be fair, in a sci fi type setting the drugs used in there are unknown to us, as for Cooper, he is a ghoul, who are immortal and seem to regenerate, it's likely certain things just don't affect them the same way
Looking at the insane amount of mass on the 10mm classic its lack of recoil is far more acceptable. And it did have visible recoil when lucy shot it one handed as opposed to less recoil when the other characters shot it 2 handed. If nothing else its consistent.
If I was a writer, I'd try to explain the discrepency in power armor protection as in the first encounter he wasn't carrying AP rounds (why would he?) and that he only stocked up on them after that battle when he realized that where there is one BOS knight that others can't be far behind.
34:21 I have to disagree. Guns inspired by an obscure early-1900s rifle are extremely Fallout. This is the series that brought us the H&K CAWS, Pancor Jackhammer, Light Support Weapon, Ranger Sequoia and Anti-Materiel Rifle, all based on extremely rare and/or obscure guns.

I do like that if they were gonna make the FO4 assault rifle they made it a power armor exclusive weapon, like they acknowledge it’s shitty to use but seeing it being used only by people donning power armor made it slightly less disgusting
the hammer cocking reminds me of another goof they often make. The shotgun racking sound of Any weapon that has a long barrel be it shotgun rifle or ... I've even heard the sound in a show that was using a long barreled revolver... OK granted the last one wasn't Hollywood it was a fan film low budget thing but seriously??! it shows how the trope has bleed into the subconscious of the public.
the t60 pistol has a heat shield and the laser pistols trigger guard minus being a trigger guard, didnt need the heat shield its not a long gun could be to act as a counter weight but it has more recoil than the 10mm pistol somehow. the R91 assault rifle (fo3 assault rifle) is supposed to be a G3
I appreciate your esoteric gun knowledge, but you did make one mistake in regards to fins on ammunition. It is entirely possible to have fins on projectiles such as in flechettes. These use a discarding sabot and featured on Steyr and AAI's entries into the ACR program. There have been numerous other prototypes using this type of ammunition. Many are associated with Project SALVO, SPIW, and ACR. I'm sure there are more, but the technology never really caught on with small arms. It did, however become the mainstay of armor piercing tank ammunition.
The 6520 works if (yes) it's fed like a Dardick, DA only, uses caseless ammo, and is so goddamn heavy that there is no discernable recoil (so like 20-25 lbs?). Not impossible, just supremely stupid. ALSO - GREAT CALL on the AR15 being excluded. I have 2 in 5.56 and one in .22LR for my kids. Great fucking guns, so versatile. Outside of those, my collection is full of interesting curios and historically relevant guns, the AR15 is the one design I keep around for the day I need to really exercise that most holy of amendments... and I'm 100% sure that's exactly why they excluded it.
Hear me out on the 10mm pistol. Using caseless ammo the magazine loads 8 rounds into the cylinder and then you have the magazine capacity to reload as well. You add 50% more ammo capacity to the gun possibly. Still stupid but that is the only logical explanation I can come up with.
The third gun could have a internal slide meaning that the top doesn't move but has a slide inside so it rejects through the top I know it's overcomplicated but with a internal slide would make sense with how it acts
I think the funniest thing for me about the Junk jet is it's design appears to be based on an early British designed Whittle Jet. A certifual flow design, unlike the axial flow used on pretty much EVERY moden jet engine. That means that in the fallout universe someone built, out of random scrap parts, a small scale working model of a Rolls-Royce Derwent from the late 1940s! Then used it to launch random times at ballistic speeds.... somehow.
I especially hate Hollywood's obsession with gun cocking. When it's done to hammerless pistols, like glocks. I've heard the cocking sound from a colt single action revolver. In a movie scene that involved a glock.
Me and my cousin have been sorta binge watching this at midnight so sometimes to tired to watch but we got most of the plot, and we both agreed they basically just gave up at the end of the show and just through a bunch of stuff at us at once, Think they needed another episode or two for some of that plot.

-Seeing as the US annexed Canada, and Canada adopted the FAL and Stering, it's reasonable to assume those guns would make their way into the main states. I still think they should prioritize showing more common American guns, or at least, guns that were actually adopted or imported to the US.
-For anyone confused about the Import law, I meant that private citizens, in general, cannot import foreign firearms. It's a huge hassle and requires permits and all that. Big firearms manufacturers do it all the time though, they have the time and money, so they go through the process. That's why we have a bunch of foreign made guns and ammunition here in the US. For a MTS-255 specifcally, well, it's probably near impossible to obtain. Especially nowadays, Russian guns and ammo were completely banned from importation due to the war in Ukraine.

This is blatant because they changed multiple things about their own shows rules just for the plot, while stuff like the escape in Star Wars a new hope is subtle because they put an in universe explanation, that made sense and was consistent with the rules they had established

I love the idea of most fallout guns being weird franksteins made post war, with pre-war guns being rare and mostly better. But bethesda makes the guns cartoonish and just bad designed, this could have been done way better.
Open-bolt submachineguns are extremely simple. You can make one in a shed with hardware store parts.
What you _won't_ be able to do easily is cut rifling into a barrel. Other than that, magazines are the hardest thing to make from scratch; handcrafted magazines are almost always a bit finicky.
If you have access to a crude improvised machine shop (very doable in a post-apocalyptic setting) you could make something a bit fancier, like a Sten gun. Still basic, but much nicer than handbuilt.

one thing i wanted to mention is that, its fairly common for ww2 era submachineguns to be held by the magazine, ironically as an anti jamming measure due to inconsistent feeding, not sure if this was particularly a thing on the sterling but i believe atleast the grease gun suffered from it
I mean, I get people gushing over real life weapons showing up in the Fallout TV show for the NCR. But in Fallout New Vegas, the standard issue rifle for the NCR Trooper IS the "Service Rifle", which is clearly based on M16. So why the hell aren't the NCR troopers wearing their standard issue armor and using their standard issued rifles?
Like that other guy said, the M16 and it's derivatives are still known to the average person as a "modern" assault rifle. So even if you gave it wooden furniture, it doesn't fit Bethesda's vision of aesthetics, that being "cold war, ridiculously sci-fi or a californian having a bad LSD trip and drawing the gun he saw when he wakes up."

Fun fact about the 6520: there is a f4 mod that adds the 6520 and a different version that quite literally fixes the 6520 by making it a break action revolver and adds a version thats just the model without the revolver chamber making it mag fed. So basically the mod split the magazine system into a new gun.

The gyrojet was crap for a few reasons. The big one was that it was inaccurate as hell because it didn't leave the barrel at a reasonable speed. It gained speed over time. Meaning that at short ranges it was likely less than lethal, but also things like wind had a disproportionate effect on the trajectory at the muzzle and for several yards thereafter. I have thought about how to fix these, and Fallout may have used a few of my ideas.
Or lucked out.
If you made a 12 gauge round, filled with a gyrojet motor instead of the wad, that was ignited by the powder, it would effectively be a 2 stage rocket slug. Initial velocity would be good, and final velocity would be better. A two stage would have one problem, flight stabilization. You could add in spin actuated fins to solve that problem. As the projectile is spun, it moves the fins into position, which would then be locked there by wind resistance. Add in a sabot to make the whole thing sub caliber to prevent detonation in the weapon and this system could work, exactly as depicted.
So, Thaddeus was actually semi-brilliant for the scene with the classic 10mm imo. To me, it looked like he was kinda untrained and undisciplined. (which was the vibe I kinda got from the entire BoS, something happened and they've changed drastically on the west coast) To me, it looks exactly like a poorly trained recruit. Now, the lack of recoil is unexcusable though.

There is an American shotgun revolver in both pistol lengths and a rifle stule. Its the Judge. I have it in the 6" barrel for my truck gun.
As far as the revolvers not being able to open, look again in history, i have 5 different revolvers like this, where only a slide one a single chamber is accessed and you reload one at a time.
If you need a modern example like at the American Heritage line.
Agree with you on the self reloading revolver though. It was researched and a few were made birth in the UK and Germany that i saw on forgotten weapons but they jammed more than fired.
There is modern bullets in service that ejects fins and is "steerable" to the marked target. It's only for military use, but the rounds are there.

The reason for use of so many exotic/"alien" weapons is probably to make it look more sci-fi-ish. If everyone was waving an M-16, it would look too current, even though it would make most sense.
I get you're obsessed with real, modern firearms since this seems to be a focus of a lot of your mods - which is fair enough - but they've kept this series far more in-line with Bethesda's vision of Fallout than I would've ever thought.
Fallout has always been, at it's core, rediculously and comically exaggerated and not supposed to be 'realistic'. They have perks that make people explode into bottle caps, have a mythological spirit that appears to shoot your enemies in gunfights, giant mutated everything and soldiers running around in gigantic mechanical suits that can throw cars and tank missiles.
I don't understand the complaining, if you dont like the weapon designs in the Fallout series then that's fine, but you can't complain that the series didn't change Fallout at its core for the purpose of 'realism'. They, at the very least, made the massively oversized assault rifle only be seen utilised by soldiers in power armor (wish this was a game mechanic, also wish this included mini-guns).
Thats training photo is a sten gun not a sterling and they absolutely used that magazine grip.

The US in Fallout’s universe did adopt the FAL as it’s service rifle but the American variant is called the R-91, it’s chambered in 5.56 and is prominently seen in Fallout 3. Also in Fallout 3’s Operation Anchorage DLC we see them in use by the Pre-War US forces retaking Anchorage. A specific commando unit the “screaming eagles” also used a variant with AR-10 style furniture.

The 6520 is clearly a six shot cylinder if you look at the sprite. I’m assuming that it’s a Webley style autorevolver with an integrated torch and laser sight. And chambered in 10mm Auto for extra badassery points. Not sure if the cylinder swings out not, though.

In the show, only guys in power armor use the gun called "assault rifle" in Fallout 4. The show improved on the game depiction and didn't use the erroneous name.
The sad thing about Cooper. He's played by Walton Goggins. Who played Boyd Crowder, in the TV show Justified. As well as similar characters in other movies, and tv shows. I think he did some range shooting for his role in Justified. So he does have experience with handling guns. He does look like kinda frustrated in that clip where he's supposed to be reloading the rifle.

That shotgun pistol that the ghoul guy uses was using a varaint of the grenade slugs that were showcased for the aa-12 automatic shotgun. So long as it ran 12 guage it would run those decently well
The T-60 Pistol being a post war gun would make sense, since the Desert Eagle models would become more and more rare, they would reverse engineer what remaining Deagles they have to create this More "maintainable" weapon with the resources they have, as they wouldn't be able to really recreate all the original parts of the gun

That's not a MTS-255, it's a short modification of MTS-255, but it uses non lethal rouds (rubbers bullets) and it was designed to used by Police. And name of it MTS-255-12

Basically the same gun except the OTs-62 is typically seen donning polymer furniture instead of wood, on top of being shortened. A grotesque rotting corpse would not be able to convey facial emotion nearly as well as a Bethesda ghoul, would significantly increase the tine needed to apply makeup and would generally be disgusting to look at, which would be a pretty major turn off when one of the most prevalent characters in the show is a rotting corpse

My head canon for the assault rifle is that it was made by the bos so theu could use scavenged ammo but the people making it only had experience making/using energy weapons. So they added a bunch of stuff on there that didn't really need to he there making it only useable with power armor.
Let’s just say the Giant Steel uses Sabot shells and the sabot itself is so small that you never see it when the round leaves the barrel. Then the fins flip out instantly like a HEATFS shell from a tank. This would also explain how there is a small dip in the middle of the round, a space to euchre the sabot maybe.

In case of rocket bullets i have a few things to say.
1. This is 12 gauge rocket so it can have not significant but still an explosive payload.
2. Rockets can be "shot" out of barrel and then the booster kicks in.

I could kind of imagine a mag fed revolver working. like the cylinder is a normal cylinder but has slots cut out on the outer side of the cylinder to pick up the bullets and drop them out. guess if you wanted something more reliable then a semi auto but with more capacity. in theory the reliability would be more on the mag then anything else

About tranq gun on Cooper. He’s a ghoul. You could say that ghouls probably have better resistance to chems (aka drugs), since canonically they are immune to radiation.

I just want to point out the irony of him using Brandon Herrera's video on the Luty SMG. The whole point of that gun was to protest the futility of gun control laws in the UK by Philip Luty, a man with 0 training or experience in gunsmithing or gun design, design and build and easily replicable SMG and then widely distributing the instructions.
In fact; that could be why the pipe guns in Fallout seem so standardized. We know that the in-universe lifestyle magazine "Guns and Bullets" did at least one issue discussing homemade and improvised firearms. I don't think that it'd be much of a stretch that G.A.B. might've published other improvised firearms issues, and included some sort of instructions. That could give us the explanation that all the pipe guns look so similar because they're all working off the same readily available blueprints.

The assault rifle would be far less cursed if the assault rifle was considered the smallest gun allowed to be used in power armor and pipe or small handguns wouldnt fit in the armors hands. That would make the question of power armor or normal armor more interesting but it still needs a lot of work
The Ghoul's revolver is clearly not firing gyrojets (there's no flame trail or even a miniature motor, as you can see with one of them with the words "BOOM" engraved on it) it's more than likely these are shotgun grenade rounds that use full-brass casings instead of regular brass-plastic shotgun shells which explains both the fins and the explosive payload.

I like the T-60 pistol. Han Solo’s blaster is just a Broomhandle Mauser with random junk slapped on it and that’s iconic, I feel similarly towards a lot of Fallout weapons including the T-60.

The Fallout 4 10mm Pistol is a better design than the Fallout 1 10mm Pistol, y'all just won't admit it. It looks cleaner, more comfortable, and it has an actually functional design, but _nooo, Bethesda made it so it has to suck._ No, it wouldn't weigh 8 pounds, it isn't made of tungsten. Having curved edges is apparently bad, until it's on a real gun like the AUG, then it's cool and futuristic.

Looking at the insane amount of mass on the 10mm classic its lack of recoil is far more acceptable. And it did have visible recoil when lucy shot it one handed as opposed to less recoil when the other characters shot it 2 handed. If nothing else its consistent.

If I was a writer, I'd try to explain the discrepency in power armor protection as in the first encounter he wasn't carrying AP rounds (why would he?) and that he only stocked up on them after that battle when he realized that where there is one BOS knight that others can't be far behind.
34:21 I have to disagree. Guns inspired by an obscure early-1900s rifle are extremely Fallout. This is the series that brought us the H&K CAWS, Pancor Jackhammer, Light Support Weapon, Ranger Sequoia and Anti-Materiel Rifle, all based on extremely rare and/or obscure guns.

the t60 pistol has a heat shield and the laser pistols trigger guard minus being a trigger guard, didnt need the heat shield its not a long gun could be to act as a counter weight but it has more recoil than the 10mm pistol somehow. the R91 assault rifle (fo3 assault rifle) is supposed to be a G3
I appreciate your esoteric gun knowledge, but you did make one mistake in regards to fins on ammunition. It is entirely possible to have fins on projectiles such as in flechettes. These use a discarding sabot and featured on Steyr and AAI's entries into the ACR program. There have been numerous other prototypes using this type of ammunition. Many are associated with Project SALVO, SPIW, and ACR. I'm sure there are more, but the technology never really caught on with small arms. It did, however become the mainstay of armor piercing tank ammunition.
The 6520 works if (yes) it's fed like a Dardick, DA only, uses caseless ammo, and is so goddamn heavy that there is no discernable recoil (so like 20-25 lbs?). Not impossible, just supremely stupid.
ALSO - GREAT CALL on the AR15 being excluded. I have 2 in 5.56 and one in .22LR for my kids. Great fucking guns, so versatile. Outside of those, my collection is full of interesting curios and historically relevant guns, the AR15 is the one design I keep around for the day I need to really exercise that most holy of amendments... and I'm 100% sure that's exactly why they excluded it.

Hear me out on the 10mm pistol. Using caseless ammo the magazine loads 8 rounds into the cylinder and then you have the magazine capacity to reload as well. You add 50% more ammo capacity to the gun possibly. Still stupid but that is the only logical explanation I can come up with.
The third gun could have a internal slide meaning that the top doesn't move but has a slide inside so it rejects through the top I know it's overcomplicated but with a internal slide would make sense with how it acts
I think the funniest thing for me about the Junk jet is it's design appears to be based on an early British designed Whittle Jet. A certifual flow design, unlike the axial flow used on pretty much EVERY moden jet engine. That means that in the fallout universe someone built, out of random scrap parts, a small scale working model of a Rolls-Royce Derwent from the late 1940s! Then used it to launch random times at ballistic speeds.... somehow.

Me and my cousin have been sorta binge watching this at midnight so sometimes to tired to watch but we got most of the plot, and we both agreed they basically just gave up at the end of the show and just through a bunch of stuff at us at once, Think they needed another episode or two for some of that plot.
