Camshaft Only Worth It For Hellcat? DYNO TESTED!

  • Given how responsive Hellcats are to relatively low-cost modifications, and also that stock long blocks handle pretty crazy power, camshaft normally isn't first in line on the modification roadmap. But let's be real, we all love that chop-chop. And if that's all you're after, what kind of performance can you expect with camshaft only on an otherwise stock Hellcat? In this video, we answer that exact question!

    With all the parts already removed, a pulley upgrade along with blower spacers would have made it. Despite that more amount for labor cost

    The only time you should go cam in a 6.2L Hemi is when you stroke the motor. Outside of that you loose almost 60ft pounds down low which you need to get these land barges moving. Pulley E85 and tune for the best bolt on gains from stock.

Honestly that things a beast and sounds phenomenal. For your future plans with the Durango I hope it turned out well.

    Tighten that LSA to around 110 and lower duration if necessary for clearance. You will gain EVERYWHERE! Running more duration with relatively wide LSA hurts average power numbers. You might get some top end benefits but lose everywhere else. Doesn'take semse except on all out race applications.

    • @Supercharged287SOHC
      @Supercharged287SOHC หลายเดือนก่อน

      When you increase efficiency you loose boost , (this is not bad) you just need a new tune because the stock tune is not enough, a great example is you don’t need to rev it to 15 psi , since at a lower psi you’re pushing the same amount of power

  • @mikew6135
    @mikew6135 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Don't guess we will ever learn. These engines want a tighter LSA, but the status quo rules the day. Try that same cam with a 110 LSA. The stock cam with a 108 LSA would probably make more horsepower and a LOT more torque than this aftermarket cam. I've also heard the argument that we don't need more torque and then they build a stroker motor. Go figure???? I guess logic is a rare commodity these days. Thanks for the vid though. I did enjoy watching knowing the gains were going to be minimal compared to the cost. Just the wrong grind for that motor.

      @@jacobwest5070You Rt on the Tq. Any street racer know like I do . I build my LS motors for higher HP under the curve with just enough tq to 60ft but my tq vs HP numbers seem a lot off but . Wk and keep me truning on win lights or Go pro finish line video ahead when it cm to small town not good prep drag strips and bk road or even no prep water burn out or glue prep . Regardless tq ant what you focus on dealing with big $ Grudge Racing. Not a Dodge nor Ford guy that pink blood don't run through my body. But just like SBC Gen 1, 2 an LS Gen 3, 4 an up to Lt stuff I remember old school drag racers telling me well that stall converter to loose a 36- an up was to loose for a nos motor then it was cam to big not understanding the new Gm Ls Lt motors have really no big clearance issues vs Sbc from the bottom end crank being able to fit a 4 inch stroker crank pull out stock crank directly drop in stroker crank due to GM LS Lt motors don't have clearing issues up tord the top end really no big clearance issues besides a slit bore and hone to fit the bigger stroker pistons rods on to a stock LS can fit 260/270 , 650ish I've seen more duration and lift I have ran these combos so I'm not making this due to GM LS factory pistons rods crank motors have no. Fly cutting clearance issues even on OEM stock Gm pistons. And being the 1st to have skirted blocks vs non skirted on Sbc Gen 1, 2 Ford older motos also slow a factory LS motors to perform an stay stroner then even the after market Dart ECT motors. Before Gm came along with the LS motors. It was unheard of reliable HP from a stock car maker motor vs aftermarket motors. And the worst Gm Ls heads out flow the best sbf bbf heads any day of the week
