  • Movement is one of the most fundamental mechanics we have in gaming. It is what allows you to get from one point to another, yet every game has a unique way of allowing you to do so. Because of this, while it might seem like the pros have better aim than you, that is not always the case, as sometimes, it is really how they move. So, let's discuss the mistakes you are making, how to fix them, and how to implement pro level movement into your gameplay. This is The BEST Guide to MOVEMENT in Overwatch 2!

I like to break my movement into individual tapping of the movement key. Two taps to the left. One tap to the right then two taps to the left again

Looking forward to trying the code here.
But it seems weird to count heroes like Baptiste and Sigma as "tracking" aimers when they shoot in such short bursts.
Am I wrong to try and flick for the sake of first shot placement?

It's both click timing and tracking at the same time. You need to keep tracking your opponent after you click to hit the full burst. This is why in other games like COD or Apex burst weapons are so much stronger on controller since the rotational aim assist is enough to make those small adjustments mid burst.

I feel that aiming while standing still is harder than while moving. Maybe it's personal preference or because I play with a controller.4:35

Honestly I agree, sometimes movement on controller gives you the small change in cross-hair position that the aiming stick is to sensitive to perform reliably. Especially in fast paced or cross platform games where a slow sensitivity means you can't turn fast enough to react to sudden events

Thats because we use our movement to help line up our aim. Everyone does it.
