Low-Intensity Seated Weight Program for Seniors

  • A low-intensity, seated workout with light weights. Perfect for helping older adults maintain range of motion and muscle tone. WARNING: Please be sure to consult a doctor before using this program or pursuing any form of exercise. CAREGIVERS: Do not use with an older adult unless you have consulted with that person's doctor regarding exercise regimes. PLEASE NOTE: Our instructor is not wearing proper footwear. Please ensure that anyone doing this program is wearing sneakers for foot-protection and traction.
    GOALS:
    To maintain or improve muscle tone
    To maintain or improve range of motion
    To enhance well-being through exercise
    To facilitate a sense of achievement at the end of the program
    To enhance physical and mental well-being through deep breathing
    To help maintain overall fitness

    These are excellent, safe and easy to do, thanks.
    For the shoe obsessed out there, gladiators would train barefoot and that would include using rocks and logs for resistance too, and yes, there were indeed female gladiators as well.☺

    I’m always looking for different ways to use weights for my seniors, this was good but can I suggest that since your on a video seniors will look at you as an instructor, wear proper foot gear, sneakers, anyone showing up for my class in sandals would be asked to leave.

    Maybe better foot ware. If a weight should drop on your foot it could cause real injury!
