Just now seeing this video, thanks for the props!👍 For the people asking, yes the airbox is still in production. Demand for it is such that there’s a perpetual waitlist. If you’re on the list you’ll get one. Thanks again 2WDW you guys do great work.
Spritz the bike with water, dont deluge it. Protect the chain & air intake & switches. This is true of all bikes. I mean its under the seat good, you would have to try to get water in there. I took the snorkel off (sounds like MotoGP) & fashioned a mesh screen to keep bugs out, by using the old oem air filter.
It seems if you are savvy enough to decide it's worth changing the airbox, you should be savvy enough to know how to wash your motorcycle after modifications have been made.
I don't understand why any of the previous air filters didn't work for you, I installed a DNA stage 2 on my 2023 MT07, didn't see gains at the top but I was able to pick up 2-3 hp during low-mid revs.
Have you guys done any testing with the new yoshi airbox that came out for these motors? I’d be curious to see how it compares to the hord given the extra $100+ for the yoshi
@@akafxde7245 doubt it. like the hord, the yoshimura replaced the airbox in it’s entirety. k&n & dna filters don’t get you any real performance gains after you remove the stock snorkel on these motors. i like to believe yoshi does great R&D on their products, so it’s be an interesting comparison for sure
Because I can't find a full performance exhaust for my bike I've been thinking about asking a Oregon company if they could fabricate a full titanium exhaust for my 750, This is good info to wrap my head around. I'd like to get input from you guys before I push further on getting such an exhaust system made in contrast to finding and buying one
You CAN, but you really shouldn't. Any modification to the exhaust or intake really needs to be paired with either an ECU flash or a Power Commander. You could probably find a local tuning shop that can do it for you so you don't have to touch anything yourself.
Can the Hord Powerbox work in the R7? I have not found any info on anyone running one on the R7. I would love to purchase this and have my bike tuned. I currently have the Yoshimura R77 exhaust with the stock air box. Any help would be appreciated.
38mm throttle tubes standard air box dna and a special big lid not dna. 50.64ft/lb at 5,3000reves holds 50ft/lb from 5,000 to 7,000. max bhp 74.6 power with out any work with a leovince decat and leovince race exhaust was 65.56hp at 8,900 revs torqe 45.39 at 6351 rpm .
And I wonder how come 70 prestigious Japanese Engineers didn't come up with this. Or they did and found out it was detrimental to the engine's life. Thus that's why it's not stock. As in, it's a great addition if you want more power. But probably a bad idea if you want your bike running well and fine for long. Right?
Is a full exhaust, airbox and ECU flash going to make the bike faster with more power, of course. It will become illegal in many states. Will it affect longevity? Depends on how it is ridden. If you are bouncing off the rev limiter all day long on the track, sure it will. If you're just doing a couple of max acceleration freeway on ramps a day, probably not much, if at all. Yes, the engineers know how to make emissions legal bikes that won't cost them in warranty work, AND they know how to engineer race motors. Everything on a motorcycle design is a study in compromises.
Had a Hord intake and tune on my last MT. It absolutely ripped. I’d get tunnel vision on that bike but never did with my stock MT. These bikes with a tune get reeeeally fun. And smooth. Any idea why some Yosh pipes are chrome and some are bronze? The chrome is absolutely hideous. I’d hate to drop $800 on an exhaust and get chrome when I’m looking at the one on trails bine that looks good.
It is! Its basically a liquid cooled, Japanese, 700cc Ducati Monster. You get the steel frame & the V-twin power curve with the compact body & fun handling.
The stock mpg already is insanely good, so any tune will make it less economical.. but it will be better for the engine to richen it up a bit. I still have to go to de dyno with mine.
IMO unless you are racing you probably need to draw the line somewhere. For a sport rider who is thinking cams (and pistons) on an R7, it's probably time to be looking at a 636. I mean $2000 ish for a street R7 build is probably at the limit of what's reasonable already. It's all about diminishing returns after exhaust, airbox and ECU flash.
@@msromike123 Yup More practical to bump up to an MT-09 . They do make a Turbo for the MT-07 that's $4,500.00 More practical to get a second track only bike .

how do we get on the list?
Not sure if Hordpower is making these anymore, I certainly don't see them on their website.
I bought one earlier in the year made a huge difference
Gotta order it by request is what I heard.
Seen a lot of guys that remove the snorkel have issues with lots of water getting in the air box when they wash the bike
Because those guys are too dumb to zip tie a bag around the filter until they finish washing their bike

just got my hordpower intake going to install it soon, and then send you guys the ECU. DO i have to specify what axaprocic exhaust?
Same bike except Akro titanium exhaust and Horde intake. I kinda wanna get the horde intake and send my ecu in again now lol.
With the exhaust and intake done will you see a difference with the top end seems like it fall off around 120 thank you

@@gabegarza6320 it gonna be the same as DNA/K&N. It’s a name brand so it’s got name brand tax.

Where can we get this hordpower intake?? Can’t find it and others also commenting that they can’t find it.
Can I use a hord intake and carbon akrapovic without tuning ? Don't want to mess with the ECU

I can’t find that air filter anywhere :(
Great video👍👍👍

Because there’s something called emissions. They have to meet parameters set by the EPA and probably other government agencies for them to sell them.

will this modification work on my 2024 tenere 700 ?
How much will it make? and what is the price
Thanks
Same exact engine so almost 100% yes my friend
Is the yoshi airbox worth it
Are fuel controllers worth it for bikes like the MT07 with HP not more than 70?
no
Can that hord filter be installed in a 2023 R7?
Currently running titanium Akra w/stock intake 😅
Yeah same engine so I don't see why It wouldn't work? Unless the airbox situation is totally different on the R7
@@crazycamkalani only diffrence is fenders so it probably fits
Is there a limit to how long the air intake runner can be or the longer the better for low end power?

where could I get one of these hordpower intakes?
Would that hordpower intake work on a mt03?

Is there a combination that gives better mpg than stock
The bikes already run pretty lean, doubt anyone would even put any time into R&D for such a thing.

What are the torx specs to reattach the throttle bodies when doing the bird air intake
the torque is so low tho, my ninja 650 got 63 nm torque
yeah at 2k rpm higher
