    Great video. Something that stood out to me is how almost everything you say is reflected in the video. A lot of other TH-camrs just have some b roll playing in the background whilst talking for 15-20 minutes so there can be a disconnect and it’s confusing. You’ve put in a lot of effort into this video and it shows so great work and keep it up!

      I was alive and just old enough to remember life when the Atari 2600 was the thing to have. I've literally went from seeing the "main character" as a block on the screen, a flat square with 4 corners with the original Adventure at 6 years old.... to just under 40 years later seeing a world like Witcher 3. It's insane

      At least the Xbox/Playstation can run the shit it says it can.
      They made shortcuts to cut costs for the deck. I'd rather pay $2,000 and have a hand held that's actually optimal, with better cooling, better display, and an external battery that can be swapped for a charged one.
      But they made the deck shitty on purpose so that they could rake in more money for the Deck 2.0 that fixes the intentional problems that should have been addressed in the first place.

    I just got one in Australia yesterday and am quite pleased with it. Screen was actually much better than I thought it was going to be. It could do with a bit more power for AAA titles but it's good enough. Valve is taking a bit of a loss not making it officially available in Australia. Very high demand over here.

    There's a secret 3rd option for storing your games: external drive. I have a spare 1TB SSD so I just have a bunch of games backed up on that. I can easily just go into Desktop mode, plug in the SSD, update any game I'm interested in playing and just transfering it over to the Deck. Transfer it back once I'm done with it. Easy peasy.

    I have one, just the standard 64gb model. But a few months later I kind of am feeling like I should have waited for a later updated model. I also wanted to say that I do feel like people who get these really should have some knowledge of how Linux works. If you have games outside of steam it isn't as easy as just downloading them at times. I've run into problems with games outside working one day and then suddenly not working the next probably due to updates. And I also worry about the updates causing other issues everytime one is released. I also feel like the dock is 100% needed to get the most enjoyment of the the SD.

    Why do you prefer to use your deck without adjusting tdp, refresh and clock speeds per-game? These settings save and carry over for each time you launch that game and MANY of the games you're only getting an hour on will easily go to 2, 3 and sometimes 4 hours based on those settings.

If you do, oh probably won’t like the AAA games more (after the initial buzz wears off, lol). For me I mostly play my roguelikes, pixel games, bullethell games. Not only are they made of this cheap hard rubber material and so your fingers just slide around, but they are weirdly smaller than xbox and Playstation, so just simply buying new grips/bigger grips isn't the answer for some reason. Because the new grips just slide around. Other than that I would buy this thing 5 times over.

    dude, i bothered about rezolution details until i found it on every game ,go to Right settings and then to general and will see game rezolution, put it to 4k and boom now when u enter the game u have all the rezoltions , i found the 1600x1050 the best between quality and stress on components also depends on game
    on euto truck simulator 2 the screen rezolution it s garbage, all change when i bumped up to 1920x1200 or 1600x1050 , prefer full hd but the deck gets hot 🔥

    Would have been cool to say why you don't like cloud gaming, because playing a game at 30 fps or 60 but with ugly graphic settings isn't worth spending a ton of money in a portable console imo.

    • @midasgamespace
      @midasgamespace  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      See the appeal for something like this is the portability. You’ll never be able to get better performance from something as small as this in comparison to a PC or a console but those aren’t exactly portable either. The growth of handheld tech is moving very fast and it’s only going to get better. Personally, I’ve got a PC where I can max out graphics and fps when I want but the SD makes it easy for me to bring that gameplay when I don’t wanna sit at a PC or a console setup to play or when I travel and need something to do on the ✈️ Cloud gaming is not good enough for me yet since it’s so finicky right now. You need a great internet connection to get decent gameplay from that so I’m just watching to see how that evolves as well.

    I am planning to buy a steam deck, however im little bit doubting if i should go for the 64 gb version and buy a 2TB micro sd. Or go for the 256 and 523 gb storage. Because of their faster storage chip. What do you recommend?

    • @alt-q1y
      @alt-q1y ปีที่แล้ว

      64gb, and update the SSD itself! It's incredibly easy to do and significantly cheaper. You can get an anti-glare screen protector if you want too, but apparently it's not that big of a deal

    I want to pick up a second one. Mine 512GB Steam Deck has been sent back after 2 months of ownership. The x button stopped working, maybe Hi-Fi Rush wore it out lol. But seriously they are taking a while to get it back to me and I am having Steam Deck withdrawals lol

    512gb sd can be good value, 1tb feels like a rip off for something so small and easy to lose.

    I'm super looking forward to getting a steamdeck. I don't plan to play AAA titles on it so I'm not worried about it falling behind on quality. I have a series X for those so I don't have to worry to much about missing out on anything. The steamdeck seemingly fits everything I need from gaming right now.
    As a family man and husband who is running a few businesses, the steamdeck is going to be my savior

      I was concerned as well but honestly given what it is, the screen is fantastic, and you cant really tell the difference. I own an iPhone 12 that has an OLED and it ruined LCD screens for me for sure but, I assure you, worth the purchase 100 percent.

      @@Crwzn Good to hear, I plan on getting one soon, mainly for emulation.

      @@ahmedp8009 Holding my Xbox controller today after two weeks of using the steam deck made the controller feel cheap and even smaller than I had remembered, the deck fits perfectly in the hands, I'm honestly surprised at how comfy it is given the massive size of the damn thing, this is also including the spigen case I have on it as well. I feel as if you'll be even more impressed that you would imagine.
      Emulation is a backup for myself personally, as I am trying to play through a bunch of games on my steam library that I haven't gotten too yet - but from what I have experienced so far, Emulation is perfect on the deck, it has its flaws but man, It's nice to be able to play some older ps2 and xbox 360 titles on the go. Ive even been playing some DS and WII games, with little to no issues whatsoever.
      Sorry to hear about your experience with the Ayn Odin Pro, Ive heard that same thing from a lot of people, hopefully the SD satisfies your needs, friend. Please keep me updated if you end up ordering/receiving it! If you have any other questions, do let me know!

      @@ahmedp8009 i’m turning 20 in a few weeks and i can remember as a little
      kid playing the legend of zelda - the spirit tracks and super mario 64 on my DS Lite. Over the years I have amassed a collection of old games and consoles (mostly nintendo as i was a huge fanboy growing up.) the 2DS is one of the few handhelds from nintendo that is still bearable to me now in terms of comfortability, the steam deck goes overboard and blows that console out of the water and not sure if i could go back to casually playing any games on any of my other handhelds. The steam deck is what i have wanted, and i’m glad to have another handheld.
      The size at first was intimidating, unboxing the deck was strange but holding it in the hands made me view it in another way, It genuinely works for me and I hope it works for you. The only complaint so far is the battery life but i can’t really expect a portable PC to have a long lasting battery haha. Best of luck man, I hope you have fun! Let me know what you think of it when (or if) you get it!
