Dope video, hope you get a lot more subs cause your review answered just about every question I had. Keep it up!
I was an early adopter and I plan to buy the newer version for my wife. Since I got the deck, I've barely used my switch. It's worth more than content for views. If I had more free time, I'd put hours into games on it every day.
Why do you spend more time on the deck? Because of the game you play or the new experience you have with the deck? Im a switch player and Ive been wanting to play God of War on a handheld console since PSP. The deck might be worth it for this matter. What'd think?
@@phatsurangdechabuddharungs3899 the Steam Deck is the best invention since sliced bread. Im telling you man. Its absolutely sensational 😮💨
@@phatsurangdechabuddharungs3899 I can answer, as I had the exact same experience. Got a Deck, and since then my Switch has been gathering dust. Which honestly is a little sad since I loved that thing lol.
For me it’s really just the games. I primarily used my Switch to play indies and all of my favorite games portably. I played a few Nintendo exclusives but they just weren’t what I played mainly.
So with the Deck, I have access to virtually all the games I had on my Switch, as well as thousands of other excellent indies that either haven’t come to the Switch yet, or never will.
Not to mention countless games that I always *wished* would come to the Switch, like the Fallout games, Oblivion/Morrowind, ChronoTrigger, Mass Effect, etc. It felt like with the Switch I could play my games portably, but was limited in what games were available, and ofc I’d have to buy them all again to do so. But with the Deck suddenly I could play nearly every game ever made portably, and if I had ever bought it through Steam, no matter how long ago, I could immediately boot it up without having to pay any extra.
Then when you throw in emulation it’s a no brainer. The fact that I can’t play older Pokemon games on my Switch but can on my Deck is bizarre, and also having the entire MH series on a handheld is like a dream come true for me.
Plus there’s Switch emulation, but that’s pretty self explanatory.
@phatsurangdechabuddharungs3899 it plays god of war no problems, even docked it runs good.
@@phatsurangdechabuddharungs3899 if you can handle the performance of the switch, then yes the deck runs GoW fantastically. Plus, being able to mess with the settings is a lot of the fun. And, all of the games that are on the deck will as also be on the deck 2 with better graphics.
Thanks for the info bro! I know you be liking these gaming handhelds. I only have a switch right now, and have been looking at getting a PC handheld. I think I have decided to wait a couple years in hopes for the tech to evolve a little further before throwing down on one of these. Love your content bro!
I have the oled and it’s more than worth it, if you’re busy and only play a few hours, you really won’t find your switch dying on you. Every time I pick up my SD OLED it brings me so much joy. It wouldn’t be the worse thing purchasing one!
love yall video!I wonder what is the camera you used for filming?
Good enough is honestly an understatement
Right? Thing is TOO good lol
I have an ally for when I'm at work or away from my desktop. I also have a steam deck lcd. Love them both. My ally is always plugged in but for my use case that's fine.
Just subbed. I’m waiting for my steam deck to arrive I cannot wait I’m so excited 😆
Great video man, thank you!
I love my steam deck, it has allowed me to play a ton of games where I couldn't before
Hey great channel! I’m having an issue with my oled, it crashes all the time plus it came with a white line on the bottom, reached costumer service but they want me to trouble shoot it (not computer nerd here) any easy ideas? Thanks
Watching you vids and you reaaaallly like the mad max game, Hell yea!
I just ordered the 1tb oled model This will be my first hand held pc experience cannot wait.
Has it arrived yet? I ordered mine 3 days ago and I can't wait 😭
@@theKasumaboy Same! Let’s wait together :)
@@bmo72 got my first one too and I love it sooooo much
I hope to order mine today. I am a console player so I know nothing of PC or Steam. But I have prepared beforehand and purchasing numerous steam sales.
@@bmo72 Its amazing
I Was just saying that my boy didn’t drop a vid in a min. Great take on the steam deck and windows handhelds. I initially had the original model but had the chance to get legion Go and Rog ally, but decided to get the oled best decision I made bro. It’s so easy to pick up and play and also the oled screen makes it look way better as well. Better price and a overall better experience.
Thanks my man! Glad you're happy with your device 💯
I have the LCD 64gb which I got after they dropped the price when OLED came out for £300, I love it! It's more than enough to run games I want to play, I save latest AAA games for my PS5
I have that model too, always playing back 4 Blood, Spider-Man, cyberpunk, and battlefield and it runs great off sd card
@@iamddttju6500 I’ve been enjoying rdr2 and the Arkham series
@@JohnFisherChoir Nice
Drone.
Yeah and in any case, you can play your PS5 games on your deck whenver you want with Chiaki
I really want to have one
This device is the best choice among all of the handheld consoles
fast simple beautiful
thanks for this video you explain everything very complete
love your videos
Great for the average gamer forsure!👌🏾
@@midasgamespace but unfortunately i can't use steamdeck in my country
The OS is pretty slow.
@@donmcron3334I own both the LCD and the OLED and haven’t had issues with the OS being slow. Like, maybe back during launch but I don’t even really remember it being a problem then.
Hey, really appreciate your set up. On your shargeek short, what L shape connecter do you use for the charging cable?
Thanks! I use this one - go.jsaux.com/445qiFN
Does it link up to the cloud for gaming or directly.
Can you get cod wz3 on the steam deck? Also can you gst Forza, gran turismo ect
I have a top of the line computer and play on my steam deck for everything that i dont need a mouse and keyboard for. Some stuff where a mouse is handy i just use my pebble on bluetooth but i mean like competitive fps and LOL. on AAA games i have been using remote play and its flawless (although I wish they'd add hdr)
Great info on the SD. I don't have one but been on the fence about it. Besides the modern games that can be played on it from Steam, I have many legacy and classic games I want to play on it too via emulation. However upon a possible newer version of the SD maybe I should stay on the fence until the new version comes out. Major problem is usually once you get one then the new version suddenly comes out.
Hey broski I love your videos!!!
How's the Steam deck oleds screen compared to Nintendo's oled screen? Getting my oled Steam deck soon.
I am thinking of getting a handheld pc and I was kinda stuck with the options that are available. Initially, I decided that I would save up for the RoG Ally, but decided for the Steam Deck due to Valve's support for the SteamOS.
That and majority of the games I play are on steam.
Oh and I forgot to mention that the Steam Deck has its own boot up animations from various games with a community that are creating custom boot up animations that aren't available in steam. Can't get those on the Rog Ally and Legion Go.
U need to try FSR3 frame generation and cryoutilities u will be suprised how insane your performance will become
Gracias por la información, en estos momentos estoy entre el SteamDeck y el Rog Ally. Me gustaria ver un vídeo con tus conclusiones sobre la Rog Ally vs Lenovo legion go
I don’t really know how other windows handhelds do but I often play games on my SD with Chrome opened and with Steam OS I can basically switch between two instantly and don’t need to change to gamepad controller or desktop controller, it’s a bless
This brother should do fitness and workout vlogs too man.
The Steam Deck is cool and all, but how did you get those arms?
As someone who overpaid quite a bit on the base 64gb lcd steam deck since its quite expensive here in Australia, its really awesome. I did upgrade the size to a 1tb sabrent ssd and have no issues with it. I dont feel the need to upgrade right now as the oled version is even more expensive and I'd need to sell my og steam deck to recoup the money for an upgrade. Really cant be bothered with that as the one i have serves my needs.
The oled is nice but I still play on my older LCD Deck as well. I decided to keep my LCD model. I like the better battery life more than the oled. The oled is nice just have to worry little about burn-in (burn out) especially using HDR.
Most of the game is play get me about 7-8 hours of play if I wanted and at high graphics but the games are older titles pre 2010’s I also run cryoutilities and upped my vram from the stock 1gb to 4gb which is best if you plan to run cryoutilities
Yeah the first game I played was New Vegas and I got like 8 hours
After 2 months of use - my charger of StDeck oled is dead... Now waiting for new one - few messages to support - warranty🎉
I'm saving up for one. I need something simple and easy to use. I tried pc gaming and hated it but I love consoles (PS5) I'm thinking this will work for me.
Love the lions mane on your screen? Where can I get one!
I have the LCD 512gb and it's great!
I have the 64gb and I play it everyday
@@iamddttju6500 nice!!

I bought the Oled version a month ago and just finished my first game on it (FF7 Remake). I love the Steamdeck! It feels magical. The cutscenes looked amazing. I will definitely buy the SD2!
Great video bro 👍
Thanks my man 💯
Bro could u do me a Favour could u check and see if a game called Last year the nightmare is playable/Verified on da steam deck if you still happen to have the steam deck that is and if you do could u check if its playable and let me no, I'd appreciate it bro am currently saving for one and want to be able to play it
Does it handle heavy gaming?
Where can i place an order I need help please guys thanks
I just started doing some research on the steam deck as a future potential purchase and am wondering about the battery life. For those who have one… How much game time do you typically get on a single charge?
Depends on the game, Valve really nailed it when they said 3-12. In my experience:
If you’re primarily playing new AAA games you’ll get around 3.
If you’re primarily playing older AAA games you’ll get around 5-8.
If you’re primarily playing indies you’ll get 7-11.
If you’re emulating retro consoles, you could get up to 12.
So like, Spider-man will get you 3, New Vegas will get you 8, and Stardew will get you around 10.
@@CaptainEffort Thank you for that! That is actually very helpful
@@evilsciontist Happy to help! Also keep in mind that it’ll really depend on what you’re willing to sacrifice. Like, even something like bringing your framerate down from 60 to 40 could save you an hour or two of battery.
EA just dropped The Saboteur on Steam and I immediately downloaded it to my OG Steam Deck and fell in love all over again, lol
Perfect video dude 👍🫶
Does it run MK1 smoothly?
I had the LCD 512gb model and sold it for the ally and then gave my ally to my partner and I got the legion go and I’m contemplating going for the oled steamdeck aswell have the best of both worlds, I loved my deck I traded for the performance but that’s not the case this time I want a better use experience
Did you get the oled ?
I realize how important battery life was when I got an Oled switch. I was playing forever and still had 70 percent left. On the other switch I be at 26 percent quick which ruined my experience. Once you get your battery down within 30 mins it changes your gaming experience I would get up and just dock it to charge instead of grabbing plugs to continue playing.
90hz screen is not that useful for emulation either since consoles usually run at tv compatible frame rates. 120hz is much more useful since it allows black frame insertion. Luckily some steam deck oled displays can be overclocked to 120hz
hi! wich is the case of the video at the begininng? 0:01 sec
I am about to get one, but am struggling to choose the best, and searched about many gaming handleds, but the Onexplayer2 stood out of all the rest because of its huge display and it's Nintendo switch kinda concept, but it costs 400 dollars more then a steam deck and even 600 dollars more then the Rog Ally and for that price it would be fair to get a new gaming laptop, but my gut feeling is saying me to go for the Onexplayer2
I disagree that handhelds are only about being away from being plugged in. They are hella useful for those of us who travel a lot, and almost always have access to a charger. Battery life is largely a non issue, but having something that runs these games in this form factor is invaluable, so horsepower per watt doesn’t matter as much as raw horsepower.
I am someone who lives out of my backpack for weeks at a time away from home for work, so these portable consoles are perfect for me, I wish more reviewers took that into account.
While I do agree with you, if you travel a lot and have access to a wall charger most of the time, you're probably better off with a good gaming laptop and a controller if you want power. That said, I really hope battery technology evolves fast, so we can have more portable monsters to enjoy unplugged.
Get a micro pc or a laptop then. Handhelds aren't really for that.
I had all 3 and now oled deck and I can say it’s the best even when it got worse performance than ally.3 hours and 50 min of playtime on battery in triple a games can’t beat that
Battery life is key 🔑 to any handheld device
Oh yea I love the battery life on the oled so much better than other handhelds
they released a performance update on the steam deck oled recently
how u fix stick drift talk to me?
Pixel games, JRPGs, platformers, side scrollers, visual novels, most hack n slashes, older games, indies, etc take up the VAST MAJORITY of my time. Playing them on a handheld not only makes them more enjoyable, but also saves me a lot of storage space. There are a lot of games that're over 100gb out there, and I also have a few MMORPGs that I'd rather keep on PC than handheld (mainly bcuz MnK and ethernet)
A handheld is just a nice excuse to own more than one PC instead of buying an even bigger hard drive or a laptop, and I'd also rather not sit at my desk for another minute smh. And since I don't play graphically intense games on it (Unless it's via steam link) and focus more on battery/playtime, I can't see myself actually upgrading to an SD sequel, or downgrading to any other PC handheld (which have always sucked at providing a competent portable experience)
Valve would have to make MASSIVE improvements to the next Deck to convince me to upgrade
9:07 Absolutely true! Batteries are what make handhelds handhelds. Handhelds are portable-first. Batteries will ALWAYS be the bottle neck of ERRY handheld. Handhelds will NEVER be on par with anything else, even gaming laptops. That's the downside to handheld gaming
If we had an Ark Reactor that could fit inside of a man's chest to power an entire city for the next 35 years, we can expect handheld gaming to jump straight to 4k lol. Heck, desktops would replace their PSUs with such batteries lol. A world where HARDWARE is the bottleneck of a handheld. But until then, battery tech will not be all that impressive
Battery is what determines the hardware, and when you neglect battery in favor of higher end hardware and specs, you're left with a useless handheld and a subpar Mini PC with a battery shoved up its arse. What isn't going into performance, is going into Battery. So far, only Nintendo and Valve understand this
Love steam deck 😍
It’s hard not to like :)
My view is the ally and the legion go aren’t that much powerful than the steam deck bc if you did use all the power available then your battery will die and for what 30 minutes to an 1 hour of gameplay no for me the SD oled is the best for long periods of handheld use which is how I prefer to game when I had my launch switch I mostly played handheld and I docked when I wanted to I do the same with the SD mostly handheld and docked when I want to be which is usually for games like homeworld or total war games the games that benefit from using key and mouse
For anyone that has both what’s the verdict? Go the cheaper LCD option or the OLED? Trying to decide for my first deck
If you're buying your first one, the OLED model is a no brainer.
@@midasgamespace thanks for the insight!👍🏿
Always get the better screen if you can.
Not even mentioning the screen, the OLED’s battery is a game changer. Definitely worth it.
When did bro get hair?
I also plan on using youtube tv on my steam deck
He gets like two or three hours of battery life how long to recharge back up to power.
I highly recommend the deck for non PC gamers that just want a console like experience also. The better performing handhelds are definitely meant for a an experienced pc owner. Most deck owners have been playing at 30fps the past 7 years. PC bros like the tinkering and pushing the limits.
Limited edition steam deck is best looking handheld right now, besides switch oled maybe
I would have picked this up if it wasn't for the sick placements. I use claw to hold controllers
Stick*
I just ordered a steam deck it reminds me the sega game gear appearance wise but I'm ready to break into the modern game scene I been into the retro scene way too long
How many games do you think i can put in a 256 gb micro sd card?
Lol that depends on the kind of games 💯
Fr it could be over one hundred, or 1-2. Depends on the games.
Let it be known you can launch into Steam OS from the desktop app on windows, so if you want more power and the user friendliness of the Steam Deck keep looking at alternatives especially in 2024. The Steam Deck OLED is amazing though.

You know you can add live wallpapers to your Steamdeck Oled right???
Been loyal To the Deck. But Im feeling MSI Handheld tho.

Why do you have 60 fps in uncharted ?
More Battery Life is maybe why.
@@ZaberfangX I have only 35-40fps
@@arturbier ah I know what you mean, I missed read, I'm not sure how he got it to 60 fps.
It's all in my settings but sometimes it's usually in the range of 40-60 depending on the scene. I can't remember exactly what the settings are but I'll definitely see if I can make a video sharing all my game settings here soon :)
Have owned my Ally for months and have never had a blue screen error.
This is a Windows problem that has existed since before the Ally did.
Me neither
Installing bazzite OS is really the closest thing to get the ally to function like the deck. Def worth it just for the better sleep handling 😊
Don’t worry you will. Windows is a piece of shit OS.
@geraldonunez1183 I've owned windows machines for over a decade and have never had the issue lol yall must have a user error problem
Ngl Spiderman looks fun playing on steam deck
It is my bro :)
It’s so good, I’d play all the important missions on my main pc to see the cutscenes and spectacle at the highest settings, then do all the side stuff and collectibles in bed on the Steam Deck.
The steam deck is the most powerful handheld in the world and I'm excited to receive the game I hope it's around for years
My LCD steam deck got stolen ;-; So I have the perfect excuse to upgrade xD I’m kinda happy about it
The steam deck is the best pc handheld period. It is user friendly and has a console like user interface which I love. The lenovo legion go and the ally are pretty much windows laptops plus windows is a piece of shit OS full of bugs. Had to return my lenovo legion go for this reason. Blue screens out of the box plus games crashing. I will never buy another windows handheld. More than happy with my steam deck oled. Cant wait for the steam deck 2 later on.
Windows is a tough OS to use on a handheld console fr
I feel like its perfect for anyone wanting to transition from console to pc.
Great video got mine a month ago and it’s amazing
Love to hear it my man!
Could steam deck play offline, or without internet
Yup. Some games won’t let you, but the vast majority will.
I cant wait for you to rip Msi Claw to shreds
I'm really impressed by what Valve did, but I'm not willing to buy the same game twice just to have it in my Steam library - I've got plenty of games I wish to play on the go on other launchers. And don't even get me started on all free indie titles from Epic that could easily run on any device. I wish Steam Deck offered dual boot, but I'm afraid it's not gonna happen.
It took me just a couple of minutes to download heroic launcher which lets you play all your games without using the epic launcher itself. I am playing all the epic christmas free games on the steamdeck now.
Yes, this is a weakness of the SD right out of the box, but that can be fixed. If you play using multiple launchers, you can just set those up on deck, or you can also just pick up a Windows based device.
I've been using the Heroic games launcher to play my games on the Deck from Epic and Gog stores. There is someone working on a script that will allow you to buy , launch and play games from the Epic from Steam without ever going to the desktop.
It requires a little work but I have Windows on a SD card to sometimes play games on gamepass. The downside of having OS on a SD card is it will failure quicker than if it on the SSD. There is a way to duel boot both Windows and Steamos on the SSD card and divide up the memory between the two OS but I haven't done it.
So far Windows runs just find on a SD. From what I've read I can expect to boot up Windows a few hundred times before the sd fails.
I love mine. It’d be perfect if it could play Minecraft bedrock though. That’s the only thing I still use my pc for.
Good enough. I think it's awesome. Some people are never happy with the things available to them. Manufacturers brainwash us into believing our gear is obsolete after a year. Especially graphics card manufacturers.. I'm ready for the new switch but fine with the old one. Also I think it's pretty cool we can play AAA games on a handheld unit.
Is good but since i buy the lenovo legion go im in love
That's a solid device in its own right too :)
In my country stream deck oled costs 150$ more than ally so its better to get ally i guess
If only fc24 is working on steam deck
My steam deck is all I need.
I can't even afford either of them so I wouldn't know. I wish I could but these school bills man
At the end of the video you quickly state that the Steam Deck is not your ideal handheld and that there are many aspects that you hope the next iteration improves upon. What are those?
Nice video..
Lend me one
Real talk. How does RDR2 perform on the SD OLED? People say it's great, but then they never truly showcase game play/walkthrough so it's hard to believe.
ETA Prime just did a benchmark with RDR2 comparing the OLED Deck vs MSI Claw at 720p on low setting he got an average of 52 fps running the in-game benchmark.
Hi bro, if it's not a secret, one question do you swing?
I wish i can have steam deck 😟
For me it's perfect device since PSP
No need Nintendo, no need PS5 or XBOX
Just Steam Deck
I own the lcd and play docked all the time so I don’t have a need for the OLED 😅
I'm glad you found a way to enjoy using your deck :)
I have a LCD 512gb and wish I got a windows based handheld. Steam deck is amazing, but it's linux based software holds it back
Install windows on it for a dual boot system
If the Steam deck supported every game launcher native and could playing nice with anti cheat software games. I would have bought it, in the meantime Windows handheld consoles are just better when it comes to gaming.
you sayin you need the know how for the windows ui but no know how to install epic launcher on the steam deck? Thats just stupid
Dragon's dogma 2, GTA 6 and Monster Hunter wilds are on the horizon. The Steamdeck is NOT ENOUGH!
Enough for most people lol. I'm playing GTA 6 on a 4090 PC or a Console over all these handhelds
I can’t imagine Wilds is going to be that demanding, the teaser wasn’t exactly the most impressive, visually…
And DD2 is infamously unoptimized, that’s hardly the Deck’s fault.
SteamDeck os is the best
Lenovo Legion Go has the best hardware
3:24 Imagine SteamOS being able to bypass anticheat LMAO.
The purpose of anticheat is precisely to not allow this '-'
Valve has nothing to do with this, the game developer that has to support SteamOS.
I like the ally better but I understand the appeal of the steam deck. I just don’t buy a lot of games on steam
That's fair man. Right now, there's no perfect handheld but there's something for everyone out there :)
