The problem with this theft is the owner, Ashish Jain, cannot prove what was in the pelican case. I know what he says was in the pelican case. If they ever find the person who took the case, unless they can find the cards Jain said were inside, I'm not sure the DA can even charge the thief with a felony. The video shows the thief taking a fancy graded card case. What's that worth, $300? For a theft to reach felony level in Texas, the value of what was stollen has to be over $2,500. The video doesn't show what's inside. The video actually works against Jain. Judging by the level of care we see on the video, you would think that case doesn't contain anything valuable. If it contained $1.5 million worth of cards, I would expect to see the case handcuffed to an armed guard. The owner didn't even put an Apple airtag inside the case. That's weird.
What was the case thief you mentioned doing? I never heard of that one, and that scares me a bit; as I have cases that I sometimes dont ALWAYS keep locked and we ended up an expensive pokemon card down at the last show we did.
I vended a card show recently for the first time, There was always a pair of eyes on my table watching people who came up to it, my wife stayed by the table as I took it out to the car at the end load by load. Why are people standing so far from the product? Why is there so much chillin when all of that product isn’t locked up in the car? Shit I’d even have someone sitting in the car with a concealed carry guarding my stuff as I take loads out.
I don't about you Rattle but I always have no reaction when a strange man taps my butt. I usually dont acknowledge it but rather change my position so as to allow a theft in progress lol
Have you ever seen a reward offered for items that were insured? Isn't it usually the insurance company that might to that? Seeing how far way the case was from their table makes me contemplate. Mnnn fishy for dinner.
also, blaming the victim of card theft is just like blaming a victim of rape. at some point no matter what the exact situation is, you ultimately have to blame the criminal for choosing to be a criminal. if your daughter got assualted, would you sit there and tell her "well, you should have been watching your body more carefully. what clothes were you wearing? were your wearing the chastity belt i bought you for christmas??"
For high priced cards, why didn’t they use a Deacon type brief case which has a sensitivity movement with a high pitch alarm. Thus, any movement after arming will be a b$tch to go unnoticed. Lesson learned for them and for everyone watching this video. As Rattle said, it could be an inside job too.
many people who do penetration testing, which is being hired to test security show that acting like you belong there can get you into a lot more places than it should
I've said this many times, with the tons of cameras everywhere from the interior/exterior of the hotel itself, to the businesses along the streets. traffic cams, store fronts etc., it would be very easy to track and follow the Perps entire route to where they went ie., a car, room, etc.. and identify them. This should be so easy to solve, and maybe it is already and the police is just gathering all the evidence. Other than that, I agree that we shouild not jump the gun and say definitively one way or the other if it was an inside job yet. Video clips are always out of context- the quick exchange was so brief it could of been "hey how long do we have left to clean up?" or "What time do you close?" to which the guy responds. And the walking into the bathroom, could very easily been a coincidence of them going same time,. But my opinion, it was an inside job- maybe not all involved, but could very well be just 1 guy set it up.
bro your talking about the suspects being African American, and the card show was in Dallas, aka a major Metropolitan city. they probably live in the area, not staying in a hotel. clearly they didn't come to the show to actually participate or buy anything.... they knew exactly where to go and what routes to travel to ultimately not get caught.
Sadly this happens at coin shows too! People leave their tables during the show so they can look around and hope the guy next to him will keep an eye out but yup easily distracted.
I did my first show and they guy next to me did the same thing I was like ain't no way I ever be that comfortable I had my son with me for that very reason payed him little extra so I can go to the bathroom brought my lunchbox so I didn't ever leave my stuff unattended and it was not even a portion of the value on my table that was in his
So you’re suggesting that the dealer committed a million dollar felony fraud based on a three brief video snippets. You lost a subscriber here. But you may end up losing a lot more if this dealer decides to sue you.
Should every suspect sue the police too if they investigate them? Inside job vs 1 employee vs not at all. It is only common sense to examine the whole picture and I am sure the police and insurance investigators are too.
very dumb for saying its a insurance scam, no insurance would cover something so stupid leaving the cards without anyone watching them is like leaving a baby by itself in public
..stealing is terrible..and leaving your items unattended is stupid..
You get what you deserve

if you wanna be a detective so bad go get your badge...
I can assure you the cops probably don't even care..js
Think if a case is worth over a million dollars they would at least put a gps tracker on it.
Fair review

Unless you're walmart police do not investigate theft. Ask someone who's has had their car or house broken into.

He said he doesn't think it was staged. Nor does he agree with others that it was an inside job.
What did he say that is actionable? Hopefully you don't have a civil litigation channel as well.
@@kman237 You didn’t watch the whole video.
@@DansVintageBaseballPC I did.
