Past Sport Card Expo GM here in Canada. I'm sorry this happened to you. It's great your proactive and doing this for not only content but posterity. In my time running the shows in Toronto had experienced theft from our vendors. I directly intervened twice and caught someone stealing multiple items from vendors and had witnessed it at 3 booths. Unfortunately, kids were involved but I alerted police and we found a clever way to address it and get items back to vendors. It sucks the hobby has come to this. If the show you're at has showcases for rent you can consider putting higher value cards in them. Sharing this video with show staff at your event could help you identify the kid for the future. Again, I'm sorry this happened to you but glad you have this video and that others are learning from it.
I got the majority of my Yu Gi OH cards stolen when I was a young teen at a card shop/tournament I used to frequent. Let the person look at my deck not realizing he was turning around stealing my cards. Ended up realizing it late and he ran off. Never played again. Broke my teenage heart and showed me how cold the world is to the innocent.
Sorry to hear that man smh. A couple months ago I agreed with a guy on Facebook Marketplace to trade my silver CJ Stroud card for like 12 boxes of sealed wax. Remember kids are more likely to steal than an adult, never keep your eye of the merch especially when they’re extra “friendly” to you. The dad and son have been doing this for while already by the way they move
When i was around 12 or so, i was at the grocery store with my mom. I wanted a game informer magazine but knew my mom wouldn't ever let me get it, so i snuck it up my shirt. Long story short, my mom found me with it, brought me to the front of the store, whooped my ass (spankings not a literal beating) in front of everyone, made me bring the magazine to one of the clerks at the register and apologize. After i got done apologizing through my tears, my mom tells the employee, "He's all yours. Call the police, make him work, do whatever you want with him. My son would know better, I didn't raise a thief." I literally thought my life was over, that i would be going to jail or working at this store for the rest of my life to pay off a magazine. Luckily, the clerk at the register took pity on me and said, "Well, this is unfortunate, but I do believe your mother will handle you more than any officer or I could. I hope you learned your lesson." My mom yanked me out of that store and into the car so fast that i was almosy begging that the police would show up and take me. My mom may not have been the best mother, but that's one lesson I will never forget. Even while typing this out, I still get the same pit in my stomach that I did that day. I've never even considered attempting to steal after that day. Shame on his dad for allowing this behavior to happen. Im sorry you had your trust broken in an area you probably felt extremely comfortable in. Wishing you nothing but the best.

You should press charges and include the dad if he was in on it. Thieves need to be brought to justice and taught a lesson. Evil goes unpunished too often and bad parents need to be held accountable for their kids unacceptable behavior. With all of the social media out there, this kid and his dad need to be exposed not just to punish their behavior but also to hopefully deter others from acting similarly. This kid has no morals and even had the nerve to ask for a better price on the cards he actually bought. Disgraceful!

@GengarousCollectibles press charges no matter what if you don't your allowing this behavior. It's $500 now next year it will be $5000 and then when you post a video saying you got robbed again we can't feel sorry for you if you choose to do nothing. I'm sure they robbed other vendors as well. For all you know he could of got you for 1000 while off camera and that's considered a felony

@@GengarousCollectiblespolice will absolutely get involved, theft over 500$ is grand theft. It’s also grand larceny. Both are felony offenses. Press charges. He can’t think that theft is okay and he can get away with it. It’s cards now , later it will be jewelry and robbery.
We learned as Comic Book Vendors in the 80's/90's NEVER leave your high priced merch where people can touch them. Growing up the son of a retail store owner we were taught DON'T TOUCH UNLESS YOU INTEND TO BUY. My philosophy as a seller was DON'T LET THEM TOUCH UNLESS YOU'RE WATCHING AND THEY ASK TO LOOK AT IT. Otherwise, this happens.
Yeah I agree. Worst thing was getting into MTG and trading with the local comic shop and they tried to low-ball me on MTG cards... insinuating at first they were open to trading older vintage and then pushing new cards on me...for silver age comics that easily worth 2-3 times what each of the cards they were pushing on me.

That boy definitely needs to be barred from all future events.

This is so shameful. I cannot describe the disgust I have for “collectors” that steal from others. That kid should not be allowed near any trading venue. I’m sorry for your stolen cards ❤
That kid is no collector he is a theif. The vendor should think of using custom card cases maybe a sticker or something. Maybe even numbered so he can see what cards are in what spot of the binder. Then he could mark the numbers off on sold ones.
I recently had nearly my entire collection of Pokémon stolen out of storage, leaving only a small Ultrapro box of a few slabs I was keeping separate. 20 years of collecting Tomy figures, B.K. toys, box sets, 1-off random merch things, and thousand and thousands of cards... Several binders of ultrarares and oldschool cards, and several tins. Someone broke in amd rummaged through my possessions, trading only a pile of human defecation in the hallway for my life long collection. Seeing your face as you realized your front page was missing those cards made my stomach turn... Ive only just recently begun watching show streams such as yours and its filled me equally with passion for beginning anew and heavy loss when I see cards I pulled from packs selling for several hundred dollars... For me it took a lot of work to get past it. The worry here is that it's possible that the kid's father is complicit. I hope he isn't, because it means it's more likely that he may be able to help his son stop doing this if he isn't complicit.

Thanks for the support and sharing your story too!
Me thinking there was nothing to worry about being waxed product that everything was good to go. We met up and exchanged transactions. When I got home, that shit was glued together and opened & he had blocked me and there was no way of identifying him anymore! Talk about PISSED… but there was nothing I can do, just take it as a learning lesson.

He robbed his ass blind
When i was around 12 or so, i was at the grocery store with my mom. I wanted a game informer magazine but knew my mom wouldn't ever let me get it, so i snuck it up my shirt. Long story short, my mom found me with it, brought me to the front of the store, whooped my ass (spankings not a literal beating) in front of everyone, made me bring the magazine to one of the clerks at the register and apologize. After i got done apologizing through my tears, my mom tells the employee, "He's all yours. Call the police, make him work, do whatever you want with him. My son would know better, I didn't raise a thief."
I literally thought my life was over, that i would be going to jail or working at this store for the rest of my life to pay off a magazine. Luckily, the clerk at the register took pity on me and said, "Well, this is unfortunate, but I do believe your mother will handle you more than any officer or I could. I hope you learned your lesson."
My mom yanked me out of that store and into the car so fast that i was almosy begging that the police would show up and take me.
My mom may not have been the best mother, but that's one lesson I will never forget. Even while typing this out, I still get the same pit in my stomach that I did that day. I've never even considered attempting to steal after that day.
Shame on his dad for allowing this behavior to happen.

Wow I hope his dad is also held accountable…they were definitely in on it together. Sorry to hear you lost some valuable cards
@@FluffyDogInvestments all good brother, appreciate the support 🙏
That's a big assumption. Many times parents are not aware of stuff like this.
@@billbill9499 That's true, but the way his dad closed the binder after he took the cards seemed a bit suspicious. Plus his dad was standing right next to him the whole time.
@FluffyDogInvestments ya that's a good point. Hope either way u get ur stuff back.
@@billbill9499dad definitely knew , you can tell how he’s holding on to the cards he took and how he closed the binder . They are both thieves, Dad using the minor to do his dirty work
He had the nervous 💩 dance after he was told it's being recorded 🤣🤣 great video, and I hope you have his Pic posted at all shows
Yeah all local ones know already so we will see if they show up somewhere
THATS WHY YOU NEVER TRUST THESE TYPES OF PEOPLE MAN. I DID IT BEFORE AND REGRETTED IT
🥷🏿
It’s obvious that the dad was in on it too. Shameful.
9:54 you can tell the guy with hoodie was sensing your frustration subconsciously
yeah
The second you pointed out the camera, that kid crapped his pants! What a horrible thing to do to you. Thieves are the worst. Im sorry that happened to you.
Thanks for the support man, and yeah they ruin the show
Dang man, you have a good attitude with how you dealt with this. Hope this doesn’t happen again, you seem like a great guy! 👍🏼
thank you for the nice words and support! yeah hope it doesnt again since it already happened twice
When you showed the camera at that moment, he knew he messed up
Brooooooo that’s crazy. Did you end up getting the cards back?
Just part of it. Good to see you again Chisgule! Hope you doing great brother!
The saddest part of this vid is the dad being ok with the son’s action…smh
I hope you get lots of views on this video to make up what was stolen 🙏🏼
thanks brother, unfortunately my channel is not monetized atm so i dont make anything out of videos, just wanted to share this so everyone sees kinda the cons of being a vendor too
they start them young
Why are so many saying the kid should have consequences, and upset that he dad is OK with it?
It's not that he's OK with the actions.... He's the one having his clean looking black son so the stealing! He's the one in control of what's going on, and his son is his lackey.
I don't think the dad really caught up maybe a bit at the end he seemed to be pondering why he son kept grabbing them from him. The dad also put the stolen stuff on top and the kids moved them around to hide them and I think that is when the dad started wondering but don't think he caught him in the act and was more of a fleeting thought. Probably also believes his kid would never do something like that.
i sure dad didn't even know what was going on lol. Whole reason why kid took the stack of raws from dad and started to mix them up instead of dad doing it himself
Looky here back at it again per usual
lol
it is so crazy to me how these people can even look you in the face while you're telling them to enjoy the show and being extremely nice for the entire interaction while simultaneously STEALING FROM YOU. some people.
Yeah it's a wild world out there nowadays, but good will always find good like you guys are showing love and support in my video!
@@GengarousCollectibles you going to new jersey collect a con next weekend ?
The moment you said camera his face switched up so quick 😂
yeah and still didnt come clean
Bro his face when you went to the camera 😂
priceless
As soon as you said " yeah I do it for youtube " the kid looked terrified like " oh shoot people are gonna see my steal
he should have just come clean, or tell his dad about it and he make him come clean, but i guess both thought they would be safe or smth
Glad you were able to catch this and hoping it never happens again!
thanks man, appreciate all the support!
the internet remains undefeated🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽
Nice 230k views in 2 weeks. Probably will be ur best video. Worth
hope not lol, want my best video to be about positive vibes lol
@@GengarousCollectibles Sad how our society would rather watch the negative side of things more and make more comments than they do the positive sides.
@chorlesteajones6794 that's not society that's just humanity.
Nothing changes throughout history
The face was priceless when he asked you '' oh you record everything '' and the answer ''yeah I do youtube'' now almost a million person around the globe judging his dad and that kid too trouble's at the corner young boy ! they'll get ya ! 8:00 magic moment.
yep should have come clean right there
Man this kid needs to get better at stealing I took like 30 cards from your binder and you didn’t even notice
Lmao, I knew you were into something...I will just report V to the police though 😜

@@CasperTheFriendlyGhost777 I'm with you on that one brother, and most definitely!
Facts
I'm a mom and I taught my children, now 21, 18, & 17, to shop the way I was taught. We put our hands behind our back unless we intend to buy something. If we touch it, we are planning to actually buy it. Otherwise, hands behind our back. It's helpful with compulsive shopping too. Having your hands behind your back makes your brain register the movement of your arms to pick up an item, which gives your brain time to reflect on the cost/whether the expense is worth the purchase.
thats actually amazing, i hope i can teach my baby girl the same one day, thanks for sharing it!
I always do this as I'm worried staff people think I'm stealing stuff. If I'm in and out of my pockets, etc.
Totally agree with this.
