Lunalight is an archetype of mostly DARK Beast Warrior monsters used by Celina from Yu-Gi-Oh ARC-V. The archetype is a battle oriented fusion strategy that aims to board break and inflict heavy damage mostly into an OTK. Two of their fusions being Cat Dancer and Panther Dancer, via their effects, can attack monsters twice (the monster not being destroyed the first time) to inflict battle damage twice. Leo Dancer, instead has 2 attacks innately and destroys all special summoned monsters the opponent controls after the damage step of her first attack. The deck can abuse the XYZ mechanic with the interaction of Tiger and Marten cycling each other; which is usually how one deals with going first. An overview of the Lunalight monsters I ran and main goals of them:
    1. WOLF: When in the pendulum zone, it can banish fusion materials from the GY or field to summon a Lunalight fusion from the ED. It's monster effect inflicts piercing but as a lvl ,6 this rarely comes up.
    2. CRIMSON FOX: if sent the to the GY via card effect (fusion material, buried) you can target 1 face up monster the opponent controls and reduce the attack to 0, while in the GY if a LL monster you control is targeted, you can banish fox to negate the activation and then each player gains 1k lp. It's mostly ran for the attack reduction and the protection is used for Panther and Cat Dancer.
    3. BLUE CAT: if Blue is special summoned, you can target another Lunalight monster and double its original attack for the turn. If Blue is destroyed you can summon a Lunalight monster from the deck. I only ran 1 for the attack buff but running multiple in place of more situational Lunalight can help with defensively going first or loading the GY for Wolf to have fusion material.
    4. KALEIDO CHICK: Once per turn, you can send a Lunalight monster from the deck or extra deck to the GY and Chick's name becomes that monster for the turn. if chick is sent to the GY via card effect, you can add a polymerization from your GY to the hand. Lastly if Chick is banished, you can choose to make the opponent unable to activate cards or effects in the battle phase this turn. The first effect can send needed material to the GY for Wolf or copy said material to directly fuse from the field, can recycle polymerization (even if used as material by it) and the third effect is banished via Wolf to easily trigger it. Chick's first effect's burial is a cost so can be activated if its effect is currently negated (you will lose the name copy).
    5. EMERALD BIRD: If bird is normal or special summoned, you can send a Lunalight card from the hand to the GY and draw a card. If sent to the GY via card effect, you can target a lvl 4 or lower Lunalight in the GY or banished and summon it in defense mode with its effect negated. Each effect is once per turn. The first effect let's you pitch cards like Marten or Serenade Dance to the GY and the 2nd effect can get back banished material.
    6. YELLOW MARTEN: If marten is in the hand or GY, you can return 1 Lunalight card you control to the hand to special summon itself but will be banished when it leaves the field. If sent to the GY via card effect, you can add 1 Lunalight spell/trap from deck to hand. Marten's main purpose is to bounce Tiger back to the hand to instantly reuse Tiger's effect. Typically you will be searching the themed Lunalight Fusion spell since the perfume spell has a space between LUNA and LIGHT.
    7. TIGER: Its prendulum effect is once per turn you can target a Lunalight monster in the GY, special summon it with the effects negated and destroy it during the end phase. monster effect is if it's destroyed you can revive a lunalight monster in the GY and special summon it. The pendulum effect is for reviving more extra deck material. Also if it's bounced by Marten, you can reactivate it and use the effect again. The monster effect keeps the revived Lunalight with its effects but because Tiger is limited try not to put it there unless necessary.
    8. PURPLE BUTTERFLY: you can send it from hand or field to the GY to give a Lunalight monster 1k atk. It can be banished from the GY to special summon a Lunalight from the hand. Butterfly is for the GY effect, usually for fighting through possible interaction or if you don't have scales, summoning Blue Cat to juice up a fusion.
    9. BLACK SHEEP: you can discard this card to add a polymerization from deck to hand or a Lunalight monster from the GY to your hand. If sent to the GY for a fusion summon, you can add a Lunalight monster from the GY to your hand or a Lunalight face up in your extra deck to hand. Sheep directly searches polymerization to trigger other Lunalight monster effects and also acts as recovery in a pinch
The Extra Deck monsters and their purposes:
    1. LEO DANCER: must be fusion summoned with Panther dancer and 2 other Lunalight, can attack twice and destroys all special summoned monsters the opponent controls after its first attack. Has targeting and effect destruction immunity. The spearhead of Lunalight offensive that is usually summoned via Wolf's pendulum effect (with a panther dancer sent there via chick). You cannot revive it due to it needing to be fusion summoned.
    2. GUARDIAN CHIMERA: must first be fusion summoned, with at least 1 material from the hand and field (3 materials altogether). Upon summon destroys cards on the field equal to the fusion materials from the field and draws cards equal to the materials from the hand. Has targeting immunity if polymerization is in the GY. With sheep directly getting polymerization, Chimera can help board break, reset your hand, and with the Lunalight material can even be chain blocked.
    3. SABRE DANCER: needs 3 Lunalight monsters, gains 200 atk for each beast warrior banished or in the GY(s). has targeting immunity. If in the GY (except turn it's sent there) can be banished to juice a fusion monster you control by 3k for the turn. Sabre is plan B if Leo's summon isn't feasible but its atk boost from banished Beast warriors, directly fueled from Wolf's pend effect, can get it pretty big.
    4. PANTHER DANCER: needs Cat dancer and 1 Lunalight, can't be destroyed by card effects. You can activate its effect in MP1, and for the rest of the turn the first time an opponent's monster would be destroyed in battle it isn't destroyed and Panther can attack all monsters the opponent controls twice this turn. After destroying a monster in battle it gains 200 atk till the end of the turn. Panther is the better fusion to summon if the opponent has a fair amount of monsters on the field to inflict a ton of battle damage, especially if boosted by butterfly or Sabre dancer.
    5. CAT DANCER: 2 lunalight monsters as material, cannot be destroyed in battle. requires a tribute but then has the 2x atk effect of panther dancer; instead of gaining atk though Cat does 100 burn damage on each attack. Mostly a stepping stone to panther but remember it does have battle immunity compared to her sisters.
    6. TIME THIEF REDOER: an important XYZ monster, because its effect to banish itself (with how it operates) will trigger Lunalight monster effects if sent to the GY. It basically is free with marten and tiger interaction that lets you do it again.
    Spells and Traps Roles:
    1. ALLURE OF DARKNESS: draw power, also the reason the kaiju of choice is Radian
    2. POLYMERIZATION: this spell in a fusion deck, especially one that can search it, unheard of
    3. FOOLISH BURIAL GOODS: getting Luna Light Perfume or Serenade Dance to the GY. Even if it's hard once per turn, multiples just means you can save or have no thinking necessary discard fodder
4, LUNA LIGHT PERFUME: a non once per turn (on both effects) revival of a Lunalight monster from the GY and if in the GY can be banished to discard a card then add a Lunalight from deck to hand. The only thing bad about this is it isn't directly searchable off of Marten cause of the damn space
    5. LUNALIGHT FUSION: the themed fusion spell that is standard poly unless the opponent controls an extra deck monster; in which case you get to use a material from the Extra deck or deck. Since it's searchable off of marten only 1 or 2 is really needed.
    6. SERENADE DANCE: the main effect of giving the opponent a token to give a fusion you control when it's summoned 500 atk for each card they control might have been alright but it's a trap which requires setting. The GY effect is why we run this to banish this card and discard a card to summon a Lunalight from the deck.
The general idea is to go second. This will likely make your lunalight fusion online if searched or in hand. Naturally you will be playing through negation and possible interaction which means if desired, have more going second board breakers/equalizers. Kaleido chick is arguably the most important Lunalight to search, if lacking, because of its borderline abuse of constantly burying material to the GY. Burial goods to send perfume or serenade dance can either search or summon from deck respectively. If there is a good monster count with weaker stats, Panther Dancer might be a better call than Leo for massive battle damage. Time Thief Redoer, because of how he operates, will trigger Lunalight effects. So even if going second, he is a good initial summon to trigger those. Going first, the XYZ techs are better than sitting on a fusion and praying.
If the opponent has some knowledge about lunalight, they will be targeting Tiger since it's limited, or marten in the GY which hurts your turn heavily. Redoer is also a vital point simply because he is the simplest way to trigger Lunalight monster effects outside of fusion summoning. The discard costs from perfume and serenade dance might add up if your offensive is halted or unsuccessful. Dugares the timeless can be another extra deck pick for draw power and gettings its materials back in the GY but be careful of its downsides.

In response to the thing about Redoer:
Anything that comes before ; is the cost, not part of an effect.
Redoer detaches on resolution- not cost - so it counts as a card effect.

  • @WillRennar
    @WillRennar ปีที่แล้ว +14

1:12 - Redoer's "Detach up to 3" doesn't have a semicolon after it, so the detach is part of the effect, not a cost to activate.

I have to say that I enjoy a lot this deck, I have it IRL With three variants, Being Pure, XYZ Focus and w/ Tri-Brigade Link Focus.
Actually my favorite card to play this deck is Wonders of Nature (Or whatever name it has now), the Equip spell that makes a non-named crossover between Lyrilusc, Lunalight, Windwitch and Melodious, Mainly because the, Again, Dragon-Focused meta, allowing me to clear entire fields while summoning a monster.
Serena is also one of my favorite characters in design, alongside Yugo and Yuri.
If not because of the fuggin Branded, Predap would be my second favorite deck, but because of the so overused meta, I've fallen in love with my Generaider and Lunalight decks.
As always, Thanks for the Video Mr. Clowny, so I can take new Ideas for my future deck buildings.

Honestly, don't enjoy seeing Lunalight as much but that's more due to bias since Duel Links brought in Celina for their last event which meant Lunalights came back and I remembered how much I HATE FACING LUNALIGHTS HOW THE HELL DOES THE AI CONSTANTLY GET OTKS SO MUCH AND WHY DOES THE RNG KEEP GIVING ME DEAD HANDS THAT CAN'T RESPOND TO THIS GARBAGE
But yeah, it's a nice deck. I just hate having to deal with it.
But that's one of of a long list of decks I feel that way on Duel Links due to never feeling like I HAVE a nice deck so there you go.

No, Kaleido Chick won't trigger Marten's search effect because its treated as a cost for the effect and not the effect itself; that also means emerald bird won't trigger either. Time thief redoer or used as fusion material will trigger it.
