UPDATE: Since Extravagance was semi-limited, you can swap the 3rd Extravagance for a Pot of Prosperity. It does pretty much the same thing.

also why did you only use artifacts in the fang deck, and not the other decks? what about dimensional barrier I didn't see it being used in your lists
also would you consider stuff like solemn strike or warning for this deck? since this deck sucks vs mass removal like evenly matched? or getting ties negated so strike would be good?
4:16 does this also include fusion? For example, aside of Diabolos, there are DNA Surgery & 4 sheep tokens in the field and my opponet has Super polymerization and plans to get Five headed Dragon.
"Share the pain" should be an honorable mention..

Really love these in-depth videos that explain how archetypes play, the fundamentals, as well as further combos and engines. Really helps me to understand how decks work and play style beyond just reading the cards.
I know they maybe a lot of work to put together but these are great and hope to see more for other decks

I've been testing Caius the Mega Monarch in this deck since under lair you can banish all copies of any monster it banishes from your opponents hand, graveyard, deck, and extra deck. Lair also provides free tokens to use a tribute fodder, and if Caius is summoned using dark monsters it gets to banish an additional card.
Caius is a good counterplay card that I never realized I needed. The tribute summon might also trigger Diabolos
This is a good suggestion. Had I read this at the time it was posted I would have thought it was a nice addition, but maybe a bit slow to pull off due to the need for 2 tributes (or a single tribute summoned monster). Looking at this post now, right after "spell card: soul exchange" was announced, I have a feeling this is quite viable.
The card gets banished first, then it checks if it's Dark monster. I don't think it will work for the searching banish effect.
Great video. I've been using lair since it released and it's definitely one of my favorite decks. I could relate to the video as I've tried out a lot of these variations before. It was neat to see and rather nostalgic. The most surprising takeaway I had from watching this video was that labrynth barrage does indeed work with eradicator, contrary to what everyone else has told me up until now. While I know the video was already rather comprehensive as is, I was slightly dissapointed that I didn't see monster gate mentioned. Monster gate and reasoning are some fantastic honorable mentions here, especially if you build around them with cards like breakthrough skill and lost wind.
I've been playing with a Branded Lair build and Monarch Lair build. The monarch build basically says the meta cant play the game. Branded Fusion sort of acts like a foolish burial for Diabols that also gives me a Mirrorjade and a Lubellion in addition to Lilith most times.
Branded Lair is my favorite variant of the deck especially since it gives you more options with Super Poly.
I used to play that deck with "Barbaros" monsters, Edge Imp Sabres, Performage Trick Clown or Floowandereeze and the Unexplored Winds as special or tribute summon material.
Decisive Battle of Golgonda helps your cards can't be destroyed by card effect.
Consecrated Light, Gozen Match and Rivalry of Warlords help to block summon of monsters on the field.

Nice video. That gilded kaiser is really good in this deck also. It acts like a kaiju but special summons itself to your field so basically keeps with the theme of tributing your opponents monster and is a special summons so you can keep summoning.
Biggest difference is that Kaiser Glider's effect is a Quick Effect

thx for the video I was looking at the field spell in MD for the longest while trying to wonder what it was all about. MD's search engine is trash so I didn't know about Alice, Malice, and Loris until now. I was thinking of making a anti spell deck with Uria. But I'll go with this instead. :)

I use shadow imprisoning mirror and gozen match in my lair of darkness deck. I enjoy watching my opponent not able to summon non dark monsters or activate effects 😂😂

Just made a build that hybrids critias and superpoly and its an uphill battle so far
I can tell you what I've been using. I love Critias, but it is still a meme. And with how much power creep Konami has stuffed into the game recently, it's harder and harder for casual strategies to succeed. Hope this helps.

Grinning Grave has actually been a Damn good card to use. I’ve Stunned Most of the Snake-Eye/Sinful Spoils cards by using three copies on that deck since most of their Stuff is Graveyard Reliant!
It’s actually really good in this current format. The only problem is meeting the Tribute conditions! Especially so for monsters that are 2000+ Atk.
It definitely sees more play in Lab than in Lair. I know, I’ve tested it.
Datrklight is pretty good for lair and has nice art
If you can get buster dragon out it would be deadly combo with branded beast , you can tribute one of their monsters to destroy another of their cards , was thinking to use duality to get him . would Bystial Lubellion turn to buster dragon using duality ?

its more fun but technically labrynth just performs better due to the recycling, the problem with lair is often you just get out lasted sometimes even if you gain ground, like vs tearlaments, of course now its all banned, but these decks fuck over lair because these monsters just keep on coming back over and over and you can only tribute one monster per turn etc
been watching your lair videos, good stuff. Quick question, what are your thoughts on playing critias in a mirror force deck?
Give it a shot. Mirror Force Dragon is a surprisingly good monster, and you can recur mirror force with launcher. It’s not like the cards are ultra rares, so it isn’t a terrible investment.

What can I swap artifacts with in the Fang Build? I'm not really loving them.
Ice dragon’s prison, extra copies of ballista squad, pot of prosperity, or enemy controller. (Enemy controller is actually really good in lair.) You can mix and match pretty much any of the cards I mentioned in the video.
Share the pain is a good tech card for this deck

Ballista squad + punishment = 3 destroys and 1 tribute in your ops turn just saying. I play dogma dark lair its crazy.. ballista squad is the best card imo
New card Trap Track = Broken S tier for this deck..
Im so glad that someone loves lair of darkness as much as i do. I've never really liked the meta, and i love this deck for its controlling capabilities. Love nomming the enemies cards. Also a fun trap to run which is a more balanced than skill drain is powersink stone. Love throwing people off. Thanks so much for the awesome video. ❤
Na, Labrynth is S Tier. There's a 2 card combo with Arianne and Ties that ends in a +3, not including if you draw off Arianne during your opponent's turn. The only Labrynth cards you need are 1 Lady, 1 lovely, 1 Arianna, 2-3 Arianne, and 3 Big Welcome. I also recommend pot of prosperity for this version. In this version the amount of cards being generated almost makes extravagance redundant. Also need 1-2 Loris. I've made over 30 versions of Lair and this one is the best. I also recommend 1 waking the dragon cause if you have Lady on the field you can chain a normal trap to feather duster and use lady to set waking the dragon from the deck gaining it's destruction effect. Warning point is also OP

Hey - I have an idea: Lair Naturia. It effectively means tributing the opponents monsters to negate their effects/SS Naturia monsters from the deck. What do you think about that?
I just saw Josh's analysis of his game against an OCG player (explaining how the OCG player didn't know what Naturia Runicks did). Based on what I saw, your suggestion sounds really interesting.

Lol I don’t have the materials to build this deck. I used to have a few cards from it, but they’re just too expensive and they have no business being so. I want to build one though. They are a cool deck, and I used to play one irl in casual kitchen play.

I wanted to update my own Lair of Darkness deck for a little while now & this was a great guide
While I do have a bunch of the cards suggested, the ones I don’t are UR. Considering how that right now, I’m focusing on updating my decks rather than making new ones (although having no free space for a new deck is a factor) I’ll make Lair a priority
Also why skill drain is good, if Lilith is on and u activate skill drain and then tribute herself her effect does work

Lair of Darkness is one of those cards that made me rethink if Master Duel is bugged or if that's how certain interactions worked. I tried to play oddball cards for the purpose that they tributed for cost but in reality just doesn't work with Lair of Darkness.
One example is Share the Pain. It makes both players tribute a monster but you must have a monster to tribute as cost first. So I assumed it'd work cuz you tribute for cost of it's effect. But it doesn't and I'm not sure why.
I just checked, and share the pain does work with Lair. I’m not sure what your situation was though. Now, I don’t think share the pain is optimal or anything. I think enemy controller is better in almost every situation.
@@iremiagaming Oh for sure. I just like odd builds because it's more fun to run something other than meta.
But yeah, idk. It wouldn't let me tribute opponent monsters despite the fact they had valid targets. I tried it on two games against two different decks and it wouldn't let me. Granted, I'm pretty sure my duels were when Lair was first put into the game. I can't remember if it was there at launch or added later, I just remember this happened months ago. So it's possible it was a bug at the time and was later fixed.
@@iremiagamingOh, I figured out my issue. For some reason I didn't see that the tribute opponent's monsters effect is once per turn. I must have read Lair of Darkness 50 times over and never once caught the fact it's once per turn and must have assumed Share the Pain didn't work.
@@CrimsoniteSPlair of darkness is soft once per turn, you can use additional copies to keep tributing opponent's monsters!
I literally deleted this deck yesterday as found it difficult to win with and expensive UR wise, probably woudnt have if I saw this video first 😂
