Ethel Bagging | Fin Cop Wardlow Hay Cop & Longstone Moor | The wrong way!

A good day's Ethel bagging from Monsal Head! We headed to Fin Cop where I thought we could pick up tracks through the woods to descend to the valley floor and walk along Monsal Dale on the other side of the river.
The path down from Fin Cop was very steep and slippery, and I don't think the path along the river is a public right of way. We had to climb through a fence to access the bridge so I really wouldn't recommend trying this! Best to retrace steps back to Monsal Head from Fin Cop and drop into the dale from there.
After a lovely walk through Cressbrook Dale, we climbed Wardlow Hay Cop, before heading to Longstone Moor for our final Ethel of the day. We managed to take the wrong path over the moor but got there in the end!
A good day out and another three Ethels in the bag!

Lovely views from the top of Fin Cop. The path on the way down looked tricky, well done making down in one piece. Congrats on the Ethel bagging! You had amazing weather too!

Thanks Rachel, I don’t think it was a right of way 😱 glad we made it down ok despite the bitey ants! We did luck out with the weather it was gorgeous

Great video Steph!.... I must say I amaze myself at how easy i make them stiles look! 😂
My fave bit i think was seeing the flowery meadows at Fin Cop- little violas, spotted orchids, bluebells. It was so pretty to see. 💐 ... I wasn't such a fan of those ants though on 'Hell Hill'!! 🐜😱 xx

Looks like it was lovely day for a walk. I was also impressed by the number of snacks/treats that you had on offer for your cake stop. Hope the training for your big walk is going well.
