Places to visit in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, UK

Yorkshire Dales is a National Park and where you can find some of the most iconic scenery such as spectacular lush green valleys, thundering waterfalls and rivers, picturesque villages and historic castles that are truly the pride of the Yorkshire county. This vast and great natural landscape welcomes thousands of visitors to appreciate its great beauty and for some countryside adventures. Should you wish to visit this national park allow me to share with you my top 13 favourite places.

how to do you go around Yorkshire Dales po? do you need a car?
@@irenelabor4082 Thanks for the comment. Most places in the Yorkshire Dales can be accessed by car. However, there are bus linking between villages and you can check it at www.dalesbus.org.

Quite close to Reeth just over the river Swale is the small village of Grinton. If you go there you will see a rather large church and graveyard totally out of proportion to the village it sits in. The reason for the large church was that at one time the people of the Swale Valley up from Grinton would all use the Grinton graveyard as their cemetery. The funeral procession would walk down the valley carrying the coffin for the funeral service and internment in that church graveyard.

All the places that Noel mentions are well worth a visit. He clearly knows The Dales well & understands what makes the area so wonderful.
Tip; Get away from the tourist hotspots or visit midweek when it's quiet & you'll find some amazing places.
