- Join me on this bittersweet journey as I bid farewell, at least for a while, to my beloved Chiang Mai, Thailand! 🇹🇭 Today marks my last day in this enchanting city, my home sweet home. But hey, it's not a goodbye - just a 'see you later.
I take you along as I do some final few things around the city before hitting the road. It's time to embark on a new adventure, do some soul searching, and create a fresh batch of memories.

I love your vids Wayne.. always informative and great locations showing interesting little places around Chiang Mai as well as your little adventures. am 3 weeks away from finally getting out of Blighty for a good few months... maybe longer.... initially Saigon first but deffo want visit Thailand while I'm on that side of the world... I need to check out your budget video as well just to double check and hopefully catch up for a beer at some point later in the yr.. all the best on the travels... look forward to seeing where ya end up!! ride safe!!

The fact you can see the outline of the mountain shows its really not been bad at all this year I can see the mountain from the Wild Hog Saloon and we have almost always been able to see the mountain this smokey season last year and year before went weeks without even knowing there was a mountain there.

The day before, all organised and ready to go. Good on you mate. Absolutely no idea what you are up to this time Wayne so my wild guess would be some of the islands down South you have yet to visit but if you are being more adventurous and going International then maybe Malaysia commencing in KL. Don't you just love the scooter ride down Mun Mueang road with all the road patches! Why don't you use the vehicle washes in Nong Noi along from the transport office, I think they're 80 baht for a scooter? Wished you'd put a link up to the Vegetarian restaurant so we could give it a whirl.
Yeah that is a bit of a bumpy ride 🤣🤣. Can get the bike washed for 40 Baht in Chiang Klan mate. But Shell are my guys, they do the best job. Thanks
I'm was guessing Hua Hin, because it's an up and coming city and affordable. But my god that's a long way down on the map! Maybe a border run north to Laos?

i went to a place like it to get my rental scooter cleaned (it helps against them going over the scooter with a fine tooth comb after returning it trying to make you pay for scratches if you apear to have taken care of the rentalscooter )
they gave me a brandnew scooter with just about zero miles on it that still had the wax and the waxpen markings from the factory written all over it , asked the guy take the markings of and remove the protective wax
he just hosed it down with the pressure washer and done a waterwax dried it and put it down as done
the yellow waxpen markings where still on it , and he wasnt willing to do anything about it
there was a detailer across from the washing station and he borrowed me some stuff and a rag to rub those markings and the last of the heavy waxprotection off
the rental place apreciated that i brought it back clean and shiny

PKK would be one place i would love to visit, the seafood looks great done there. Mate can you talk on camera with a few Lasses down south, like you did with the Photography Lass and others. It just adds a bit more fun to the Vlogs. Safe Travels.

2. I’m staying not a million miles away from where you got your bike sorted & that “Quik” yellow place (although heading to BKK for a month, partly as my film is in a movie fest there! And conveniently I’ll keep away from a lot of the Pollution;)
3. Yep, leaving card in machine is a classic & happened to me - on one, maybe 2 occasions!
4. Managed to open an account myself here in CM. On an extended tourist visa & no need to show any rental agreement. A different bank though.

Careful with transferring thai baht from wise to thai bank account according to new tax rule applying from 01.01.24 this is 100% taxable!

Any thoughts on the new Thai tax laws, with regard to foreigners, Wayne?
Probably no more than anyone else has, it's a matter of wait and see, don't have to be submitted till 2024, if at all.
My guess is that if you spend 180+ days in Thailand during 2024 (they can easily pinpoint those that do), you should expect 15% to be automatically deducted from any remittances into the country in 2025. It'll become difficult for those living on tight margins to continue residing full time in Thailand without using some creative workarounds
Yep, nobody still has a any idea. But it's like the guys above have mentioned, it will be 2025 or not at all.

As Asia travels mentioned, it was easy on a long term visa. I think things are a little more difficult now though.
