Sayat is the man! Very nice of him to give you a ride.
He really is!! Took me right to my front door.
Rayong is a bigger and more bustling place than I had imagined. I'll recommend this video on to my mate who has just recently been there after Jomtien (hopefully you will visit there also when going to Pattaya) so he will be interested in this and upcoming videos you create. Cheers Wayne. Have fun buddy 🤩
Nice one Steven, yeah the town has a lot going on. Hopefully I'll get to Jomtien but will see how it unfolds. Cheers mate
Excellent start for an EPIC adventure. Thank you so much for bringing us along with you. Your time and efforts are truly appreciated.
Thanks Mikey 👍
That’s really nice of your subscriber Wayne lovely man
Yes, that was so nice of him.
YES MAAATTEE! Looking forward to this trip, fairplay it was decent of the subscribers to give you a lift to the hotel too. Take it easy mate 👍
Nice one mate! Yeah that subscriber was a Bobby Dazzler! Took me right to my hotel door. Take it easy man.
I love how less of the traffic is there compared to Chiang mai
Yes, this is a chilled place. Traffic at rush hour though, but same as everywhere.
Looking forward to seeing this place man keep the vids coming especially the markets
Thanks mate!
Thumbs up 👍 Wayne
Cheers Mango 👍
Bobby D 🤩 is in Rayong 👌 happy days young man - Excellent work - look forward to seeing more 👋😎👍🙏
Cheers Ant mate 👌
Damn. You're gonna give the game away in your next few vlogs. Spent a week there in January and was blown away by the awesome beaches and very few tourists.
Yes, it does seem that way. So chilled here 👍
Hi Wayne , rayong is great for seafood
Another channel on TH-cam showed the air pollution map and it’s much less
Bad were you are going good choice.
The air here is great, I could feel my eyes were instantly better than in Chiang Mai. Cheers.
Ah, you're going to pattaya, and I'm not there right now!! Enjoy Reyong, try to get to Samet while you're there. See you again soon, mate
Yes mate, I'll be heading to Pattaya. Hope all is well Richard 👍
Nice ride to the Airport 😊
Yes, the subscriber was a good man for doing that .
Enjoy your new adventures, we are off to Bude Cornwall beginning of April
Could do with some of your sun 🌞
Good on ya mate.
Cheers John.
have a nice stay in rayong
Thanks mate 👍
Mae Rampueng beach is ok. and Laem mai pim in Rayong province. You'll probably go to Koh Samet too.
I like the beaches here, very chilled and empty.
Between Rayong and Pattaya there's a place called Bang Saray ( where I hope to retire one day ) , that looks a chilled place to check out . That airport you flew into was or still is a military airport. Looking forward to your take on Pattaya 😊😊😊😊
I've heard good things about Bang Saray. If I ride the bike to Pattaya, I will be stopping at Bang Saray. But I've not decided if I want to ride or take the bus . Thanks 👍
What's bang saray like to visit
Nice to visit, busy as hell now on weekends. Getting more popular and rent prices going up.
Well done Mr. Walk-About…Lucille was a smoke-screen/shiny object to distract us from air-travel. At least you put her up clean.
She's parked up in Chiang Mai mate, waiting for me to return. 👍
If you're in Rayong, do not miss Koh Samet!!! It's an absolute gem. Overlooked by foreigners but the Thais from Pattaya and Bangkok know it well.
Maybe Robert. 👍
@@WalkAboutWayne Sweet. It’s 2 miles off shore of Rayong. Ferry only takes 30-45 minutes.
You'll be asked for autographs soon i reckon, mte 555.
I didn't know there was an airport nearer Pattaya. Usually domestic flights are to Don Mueang which is 2hr+ drive to Pattaya..you know the score, we're learning all the time..
Great channel, Wayne. Enjoy your stay in sin city👍
🤣🤣. Yes, airport is about an hour away I think. Happy days mate . Thanks 👍
did the flight to UTP once. the minivan ride to pattaya is about the same time as the bus from bangkok. the bus is much more comfortable with big lean back chairs and I sleep the whole way.
That's good to know. I hate them minivans, but looks like that's my only route out 👍
Great vid mate never knew you were from exmouth I am from Barnstaple north Devon 😂😂
Exeter area mate. Nice, I lived in Barnstaple.
I'm going to Hua Hin tommorrow and will probably ferry over Pattaya on Monday, so glad you are one step ahead so you can give me a heads up on what awaits me, cheers Wayne and have fun!
Nice one Dan! I didn't know the ferry was up and running again?
@@WalkAboutWayne You might be right, as I didn't know the ferry was not running. I will find out soon enough.
You could also go to Koh Samat from Rayong same distance I think.
That island looks good, not sure I'll be going though.
@@WalkAboutWayneKoh Samet is well worth the visit Wayne, go for it you won’t be disappointed.
The western and southern regions have rain throughout the year. It rains approximately 8 months per year, or all year round. Therefore causing high humidity. and the landscape area is quite green
Yes, it has rained slightly and dark clouds. Very different from Chiang Mai.
Prachuab Khiri Khan is a cool chilled out town with a good beach, i think you would like it there also.
I would like to go there. I might be heading that way again so will see what happens 👍
The main farang area in Rayong is Ban Chang. There is even a strip of bars. Still not a load of farang but busier. U-Tapao is an old Vietnam war airport, one of the reasons Pattaya kicked off. It's mainly used by charter flights but some low cost carriers are starting to use it. I think it will get more flights in the future. They have spent a lot of cash on it. It used to be a very small terminal.
Yes, I did read about the Ban Chang area, looks like it's a little way out from where I am. I can see the airport getting more popular in the future. Thanks.
Enjoy Wayne, i am spending the SongKran week in Rayong and Koh Samet. Lots of places for you to visit and explore.
Thanks! This place looks a good spot for Songkran. I won't be here for 2 long mate, but hoping to see a few things.
Chiang Mai, Hua Hin and Jomtien are my choices for retirement (home base) next year. Curious your comparisons. Thx for all the info and keep them coming !
I'm sure I'll have lots of opinions coming up on this trip Sean. I will be doing comparisons to to both them places.
75 garden near star plaza is a nice little bar and restaurant near your hotel
Nice, I'll keep it in mind 👍
Wow! I'm in Pattay right now! And I was up there in Chiang Mai like you, for the month of January 😅
You must like it in Pattaya mate. You've been there longer than Chiang Mai .
@WalkAboutWayne It's cool. But before here I stayed in Hua hin for 2 weeks and Jomtien for 2 weeks as well 😎
7-11 mate ice cold towels I am sure you know already haha someone gave me one last night and I actually had to peel it apart it was frozen together not quite hot enough here yet lol but there you only have to take it out the freezer and it will melt instantl
Cool and refreshing
I've never tried one of them ice towels mate. I knew about them but never tried. I might have to get a few down here, really humid 🥵. Cheers mate .
Stay in Jomtien not Central Pattaya! The Rompho Market is where you want to stay (IMO). Short ride to CP and all the crazy.
Nice one Buddy! I won't have a clue where I'm going in Pattaya. I'm hoping to see Jomtien but I won't be in Pattaya for long , just a visit to see what it's all about .
Youre such a funny guy! 🎉Charcoal/black/white add in dark navyblue and grey and good to go! My wardrobe also n I'm female 😂😂😂😂
Glad you're south that's nice!
Nice one! Yes good simple colors for travel. Thanks.
Interesting to see what you think of it down there
I'll have a first impressions coming after the next video. I'll have a full day wondering around first.
Starting to become a real celebrity😂. Have fun.
Not sure about that 🤣 Thanks
The Sky 32 / Grande Center Point Pattaya I recommend, it's cheap and the atmosphere is very good. 😊
Cheers! I'll make a note of it.
4:45 GREEN TEA? Coffee coffee! BRCC
Never touch the stuff
You dont have to go into central Pattaya bro, go to Jomtien or Pratumnak area and its nothing like that mess in Pattaya central. Its actually as good or better than Hua Hin in some categories.
I'll fling myself into the thick of it first buddy. I'll have to see what central Pattaya is like. I'm hoping to see Jomtien aswell though. If I stay long enough. Thanks man.
Welcome to this new city . When you get to pattaya and jomtien your in for a surprise ! We did it last year . Found it very noisy and full on ! Had a pedestrian accident in jomtien so watch out for road works every where. The sky tower, market, temple are in the same area . Buzzin is what it’s all about .
Nice! It should be a good for a few days 👍
you have to go to Koh samed seeing your in rayong already
Probably not this time, but I won't rule it out. 👍
yes man
👌👌💪
enjoice!
Thanks 👌👌
Enjoy sin city Wayne. It's Jomtien Beach next door for me all day long. Ain't gridlocked like Pattaya down town.
Nice one Lars, I'm hoping to see Jomtien. I won't be sticking around long, but hope to see it.
Was hoping for a moto bike south tour. no worries from New England, Have fun.
Probably not mate, although I will have a bike for a while. It will mostly be trains, planes and buses on this trip. Thanks.
Hey mate I did make it Chiang Mai after all, the smoke hasn't been to bad up until today 6/3/24 I cant even see the mountain and I'm in old town. I think you got out just in time.
Nice! It wasn't to bad when I left, I knew it would get worse. Hope all is well though mate.
Devonshire eh, a beautiful part of the world mate, my son lives in Taunton Somerset just up the Rd.
If you can make time, you should definitely check out Koh Samet, it’s a lovely little island, with not that many farangs.
Cheers from Australia 🍻
Nice , I lived in Taunton for a while . It was a bit to far up north for me though, so.i moved back to Devon 🤣
You can still find the cheaper Thai markets Wayne your find them mate everywhere is different Wayne enjoy your stay
Sure, cheap everywhere. Seems to be about the same price for most basic things.
Rayong province is an industrial city and a tourist city. Like Samet island , it has the highest GDP per capita in the country. and higher than Bangkok
Nice 👍
Wayne's in Rayong. Good omen getting a lift mate. Can't wait for Soi 6 Pattaya, you'll be more than buzzin😂😂
It was a result getting the lift. He was a top man! Yes, Pattaya is going to be crazy. Staying in my hotel room mate 🤣
@@WalkAboutWayne take down a few hotties in pattaya
My mouth was on fire mate. Lmao Just a little spice eh. lol
🤣🤣🥵 it was a tad but spicy 🤣
Get and wear a helmet, Wayne! We want you around for a good long time. 😊
??? I always wear a helmet, but thanks 👍
@@WalkAboutWayne no helmet when you were on the scooter taxi/getting the ride to the airport? Was surprised to see that hence the comment. ✌️
@@manzahalem8845 Surprised? no surprise for me buddy, it's normal here. If the Grab driver don't give you a helmet, you either get on or don't. Again, I wear a helmet on my bike. Cheers 👍
@@WalkAboutWayne Thanks for all the vids, Wayne. Cheers back to you!
Nice trip m8,i advice for a taxi, use the indrive or Maxim apps.
Nice one buddy!
As Billy Idol said: "Hot in the city tonight"
Rayong hotter than a mother trucker!
@@WalkAboutWayne Well maybe you can cool off in a cool rendezvous
Looks no smoke today
It was alot better when I left
How many baht was the flight Wayne? I was looking at flying to Pattaya on 13-16, Agoda had flight for 11,225 baht. The rest stop in Bangkok.
2000 Baht with 'Lion Air' Paul
take the bus from bangkok, flying to UTP is not worth it to go to Pattaya. UTP looks closer but only maybe 30 minutes closerr by minivan. The bus from BKK airport has nice reclining seats you can sleep in and your not crammed in with 8 people in a minivan.
@@ZiggleFingersgood to know 👍
Hey man! You didn’t make it out of Thailand he? I went to Taiwan for a month and now I’m in Vietnam. Best of luck in the new hood.
Hey buddy, not just yet. Hope you had a good one in Taiwan. Enjoy Vietnam. I'm hoping to go back to Vietnam soon. Take care man.
Will you rent yourself bike in Pattaya? How long will you stay? Can you please share info about prices of condos.. how you find it for few months stay? Tnx
Yes, I should be renting a bike. I won't be staying long (unless I really like it) I got plans to move on again.
Rayon is nice but I prefer Jomtiem Wayne Wayne enjoy your ST in Pattaya lol 😂
Nice one Robert 👍
Can't quite place your accent Wayne...where in England you from?
West country mate 👍
Go visit the mayor Ross in rayong.
TH-camr? I think I've heard of the name.
@@WalkAboutWayne yup, “Ross in rayong.”
Which airport did you land at?
U-Tapao
Good luck Wayne... do yourself a favour and stay away from patong at all costs ....
🤣 I might end up there but I doubt it. Thanks mate.
Is it ... Pie-Tie-Ya or ... Pat-Tea-Ya??
I haven't got a clue 🤣
Pah-Tah-Yah.
Pat ta ya
Pa te ya 😊
te is short
This is from the Thai characters พั (pa) ท (te) ยา (ya). But whether ท belongs to the first part or second part, not very sure ...
Google says : Phạthyā
which I think is quite close to this.
You are famous, mate. You're celebrity 😄
Not sure about that mate. 🤣
Wow playing dangerous bad boy Wayne.....dodge the meat and two veg stay sober lol.
Piece of cake mate 🤣. Cheers man
@@WalkAboutWayne Enjoy my friend lol
You should listen to your girlfriend - Rah-Yong and Phah-Tah- Yah, - aye ending to a Thai syllable does not exist, only ai.
I'm sure i'll be saying it many different ways 🤣. I always think us foreigners sound a bit of a wolly saying it the Thai way. Cheers 👍
