- Welcome to my first day and evening adventure in Pattaya City, Thailand! Join me as I explore the vibrant streets and soak in the atmosphere of this bustling city. In this video, I venture out into the evening, making my way to the renowned Pattaya Walking Street. Along the journey, I'll be sharing my honest opinions and first impressions.
As a newbie in town, I must admit, I got a little lost a couple of times, but hey, that's part of the adventure, right? Eventually, I find my way to Pattaya Walking Street. Even though it's still early, the energy here is in the air, and I'm thrilled to finally experience it firsthand after hearing so much about it.
Strolling along, I take a detour to the pier and catch a glimpse of the iconic Pattaya City sign. Then, it's back to Pattaya Beach Road for a leisurely evening stroll, taking in the sights and sounds of this lively coastal area.

To many people have made their minds up on pattaya before they even come and see for themselves.
I've lived here for 25 years and can tell anyone it's a great city.
You have good accommodation choices,some fantastic restaurants,and great entertainment. You have the beaches, a couple of nice islands close by. This city has changed so much over the years. It's 2 hours from the center of Bangkok,1.5 hours to the main airport. Living here is still cheap. Great city to live.
For sure Steven, I had an image of it that I wouldn't like it. I must admit, I'm enjoying myself. Ofcourse it's a lot different for me but it's a cool place for me to visit.
@@WalkAboutWayne this is a city that will grow on you. I'm a lot older now and have a more relaxed lifestyle. I have my big touring bike and have been all over Thailand. I've been to all the places you went to up north, I love it up that way.
If you rent a motorbike get yourself to wongomat Beach,and jomtien Beach. Both around 20 min from city center. Enjoy
Correct. We stay in Jomtien and go to Pattaya to walk in the malls, watch a movie, do groceries. Walking street etc gets pretty old fast. Jomtien and darkside are nice spots to hang around. I visited every hot spot in Thailand and Chiang Mai did not do anything for me. Left that place after 6 days, seen enough, just like Phuket, Krabi etc. For me I like Jomtien to Live, Bangkok to visit and Koh Chang to get a quick "holiday". Hua Hin was also very oke for us but it's a liitle bit more expensive against Jomtien.
I've made my mind up already, too touristy and seedy for me. But if passing I will probably go for a day or two to see if I can get a pasty and Western food.
Yeah, the proximity to Bangkok is really ideal. I read that many Thai families in Bangkok choose Pattaya as a vacation spot.
I never get bored of Pattaya walkabout vlogs. Loved watching your mindset transition. I lived Patts 2010 to 2015. An angel can enter Pattaya and 48 hours later they will leave the devil. People just don't understand 😇😎

I’ve been going to Thailand for 18 years and I’ve been to Pattaya countless times. It’s interesting hearing someone’s view and perspective off that place that’s never been there before !

Bars are just one part of it. There are many things for pure tourist to do.island trips . Zoo and animal sanctuary. Water parks. Shopping and much more. Have fun mate

Loving the road-trip vlogs Wayne. I only live in CM 3 months of the year, so your vlogs keep me up with the happenings while I’m away, so I check in with them now and then. But the road trip series always have me waiting for the next one because you’re getting bloody good at them - more of them my son.

Walking street is a total rippoff, get yourself to Soi Buakhao and give soi pothole (soi Chaiapoon 25) a try I promise you you will love it mate, around that area is a must go to place, I live there for 2/3 months every year and wouldn't go anywhere else.

If you carried on walking towards the lighthouse there are some steps on the left just before the lighthouse. Go up the steps follow the path and it takes you to the Pattaya sign. If you keep going you can walk to the big Buddha. Take some water with you, you’ll need it.
I knew there was a way up. I didn't get around to it though. Maybe next time. Cheers 👍
You came to Walking St about 2-4 hrs too early! Since you’re in Pattaya, you should definitely take a boat to Koh Larn. Ferry is cheapest. Go in morning, come back evening. Beach and water so much better.
Ofcourse, I was filming when light. I went back later. Maybe a boat trip buddy, but places to go, won't be around for long.

I can't do Pattaya for more than a couple of days. There are some great eateries on Soi Bukhao that are worth checking out to reminisce about school dinner menus! Hungry Hippo's and Cheap Charlies spring to mind.
Get yourself a scooter for a couple of days and do some independent exploring, you are very limited by the Bhat Bus routes. The darkside is worth having a look at for something completely different.
How do people live there for so long? There's definitely a fair few guys staying there that enjoy it.
Had a couple breakfast at Cheap Charlies. Not a bad deal 👍

I've just come across your channel i like your videos but I'm surprised i thought you would've been to Pattaya already before going else where,i like Pattaya but I would like to go to some of the quieter parts of Thailand even surin just to see what it's like

I'm feeling some envy. Here I am stuck here in dreary old England, the weather has been freezing for the last 3 months or so and the skies are grey. Hopefully I'll get to Thailand later in the year 😶

Great overview…Hua Hin seems like an interesting stop. Seems like it’s the south Thailand’s haven for retirees.
Hua Hin is a cool place, lots of westerners but ABIT more chilled. Alot of people talking about Hua Hin lately. Very popular .
Twenty one years ago was when I first visited Pattaya, it was cheap to eat , drink and " Humpty Dumpty " The ladies couldn't do enough for you and the exchanges rate was 75 baht to the pound , so it was very easy to fall in love with the place . Definitely changed recently and certainly not for the better.
well its not just Pattaya were things go up in price, its still much cheaper to eat and drink in Thailand than most parts of the world

@@peterramsden3134 He's not just speaking of higher costs. He's also talking about the girls being unattractive and old now. Hard to find a hot girl in all of the 100,000 hookers there. And it's all commercialized now so drinks too expensive. The Indians seem to like it now though. Have fun.

Thank you for sharing Wayne. After 5 months in a Koh Samui, i thought Hua Hin was ni e for a month. And it is! I think the city is very much like one in te North. But was shocked with the huge red light dight district and soi 80. Anyway. Grab a burger from Bin Tang burger at night. Addictive. Take care mate. Going BKK tomorrow. Take care of the girls tho! I'd love to go travel in Thailand in the near future. I hope to do so and document my travels. I'd like to go north/northeast, visit Isan and some of the historical sites and take in the nature.

You can take the ferry to Koh Larn for 60 Baht. Leave early and spend the day or overnight.

yes, we all have everything, during the day nothing happens. people are lying on the beach or on a trip.. It's the evening when it's going on, all the bars are open and the ladies are on the street

North has the best vibes. I am however going to make a strong effort to find a spot I like in the south to avoid the smoke season.
Yes, always good to have a good spot in the south for burning season. I've not found the absolute perfect one yet.

It is a man’s paradise for sure. Lived in Jomtien for 2 years . But it can also be hell on Earth. There is a price to pay. Enjoy lol.

can you elaborate on the price one pays ? been to thailand 20+ times,lived in petchabun for 6 months back in 2005,been married to a thai and thai GF's in the past but last few years no thai relationships anymore so it'd be totally different w/o my network ive had in past id be totally unattached ? thinkin bout spending 5-6 months a year there.

'There is a price to pay' is such a vague comment.
As soon as you talk to a bahtbus driver it becomes a taxi. My recommendation are to sit in the bar you pass at 6:02 (Big easy2) around 19:30 and you will see all the girls getting to work at walking street.

True story 1st time ever in the six was getting blown before even sat or ordered a drink went up stairs there where heaps of girls showering with me before going to there rooms with there customers welcome to the six king Kong bar😮

Been living in the Pattaya area 4 years now, never thought I would stay this long, but met a lovely lady in the first week I got here and we are still together. Her family live in Chonburi province in the countryside about 1 hours drive away, you could be anywhere in Thailand, absolutely no farangs. It’s possible to have a normal life here. We both don’t drink and never go to bars etc. There’s a good lifestyle here. Especially in Pratanamak and Jomtien. Your very much in tourist mode, living here is a completely different experience! 😊.

30bht for ferry 300 bht for speedboat to koh larn. Hire a motorbike to go the other side of the island, less crowded.
Pattaya/Jomtien. Crumpet all about, like shit in a field. Walking Street is heavin' of an evening, more Delhi street nowadays but the girls are in abundance. Gentlemans clubs are the place to go, behind closed doors, cheaper beer, shag on site, if you want, or just watch or chat Heaven on earth for us boys. I've gotta wait till June ffs. Enjoy 😜

Most of Thailand stinks like poo, but you get used to it after a while. It's SE Asia. People urinate and defacate on the streets.
Get down to Jomtien 10 mins on Baht bus much calmer and nicer beach.

I wish your videos when you post were nearly the same day and not a day or two off, because I live in Pattaya and right behind my condo is probably one of the most trusted motorbike rental guys in town and a lot of TH-camrs that are living in Pattaya always recommend him. But I figured by the time I saw your video you’ve moved onto the next town.
Nearly impossible for us vloggers to post the same day. I try to keep as near as I can though.

I think it's probably easier chatting to women on the apps down south as they tell you the price immediately compared to up north where they take time getting to that.. Do all the women up north ask for money? I've never been down south but I assume that most of them are working girls which I'm not really into to be honest
Probably easier to get a girlfriend up North. Easy to get laid up North also, but down here it's as easy as just walking around.

Mate have you been to Vietnam? I arrived in Da Nang ten days ago and absolutely love it. Vietnam is definitely cheaper than Thailand too. I highly recommend you give Da Nang a visit, even just for a few days. I am seriously considering moving here.

Your a bit early on walking street. Trust me Everything changes later. The hordes of Chinese keep to themselves and follow the flag man from the boat to the bus. Lady wise it’s like clubbing seals 😊 watch the bars on soi 6 and 7 . They will find you ! Jomtien is a bit quieter and nice restaurants on beach road . Prices vary a lot . The markets being the best value.A bolt taxi or baht bus will get you to jomtien

The locals say it’s been like this since Covid . However certain days of the week are more lively . With more entertainment at the weekend. Soi 6 seems to open all the time .
Yeah I don't know, if guys are out on the street, doing something they are ashamed, or embarrassed about, or don't want their family to see, or have outstanding warrants, then it is up to them to avoid the cameras, and not expect everyone else in Pattaya to avoid him.

I think regarding ‘pulling the girls’, the word is: a more NATURAL way. Because you’re right, here you really are only a dollar sign. And every girl is looking for that man to take them out of the bars. But it seems impossible to find a girl that isn’t a freelancer here so it’s just dealing with the cards that are dealt 😂. A place like no other, but yes more than a week and it would wear off I think 👍🏻

When I was in Pattaya I felt like I was up to no good with the sex industry and I was there with the wife it’s good for a few days then move on couldn’t live there not for me that place I like the quite life with the odd trip to big cities
I thought the same when I first arrived. It's grown on my the last couple days. My life will always be in the north though.

@WalkAboutWayne the mall is awesome but the food court...not so much.. I just got back and fell victim of dehydration..Drink more water than you think you need. I was in the Ambulance the day after I got back. I now have full anxiety ( up all night ) ... ??
The only bonus of Pattaya for me maybe you can get a Cornish Pasty easier than most other places in Thailand 😋
