- Today's video comes from my last day here in Udon Thani, Thailand! I can't believe how fast time has flown by during my first-ever visit to Isaan. In this video, I'll take you along with me as I walk around the city, sharing my final thoughts and impressions. From the chilled streets to the friendly people, I'll give you a glimpse into what i think of Udon Thani.

The train to NONG KHAI cost just 11,- Baht. View over the mekong and river promenade are very very very nice !!!

The 29 baht kebab was incredible value. I was paying 50 baht half way through Soi 8 in 2010! But she used to give me extra😉👍

I'm like you Wayne,Dont really want a base as such,but where do I have one.Chiang Mai would have to be it.Fly anywhere from there.Or Hua Hin,Udon ,Nong khai,Nha trang,Dalat,but Im defiantly going to try your new favorite Kanchan

After that, take the seldom traveled secret back way into Nan.

My condo here in Udon is roughly 7,000baht/mo… use to live in KhonKaen and was about the same. KhonKaen is great provincial city, not international so have to have a purpose of being there.

The wrecked bikes parked on the street are to stop other people parking there. Seen it done with old bicycles too.

I enjoyed udon but prefer CM and I'll be there end of may. Im curious if you're in CM then if you're interested in giving me a hand with obtaining a motor bike license. I'll pay you for your time, of course. I am also working on my retirement visa. The bank account is already in place. I'll do a 30 day extension and maybe a side trip /visa run to Vietnam. Hotel price . They don't do monthly. They earn more money from being a hotel. You can get 4000 down the road though 👍
