I actually found a decent PS3 era Logitech wheel (Gran Turismo branded) at Goodwill. It is a little old now but it has force feedback and good build quality. It wouldn't work with PS4 so it ended up in the closet and I forgot about it. I wonder if it will work with my PC ? I hear Logitech supports their older wheels and that they still work well on PC. I should test it out on WRC.

If you bolted the two odd pieces of metal you had left over to the frame, you could duxk tape thr stool to it, and your weight would stop it moving around, but great fun love the vidios!

I bought a steering wheel and pedal setup similar for the original Playstation back in the day (1998-1999.) What a PITA that thing was to use but all I really cared about was being about to modulate the throttle in Gran Turismo.

i had a similar wheel from my childhood cheap knock-off "plei estation" (as read in spanish), I opened up the wheel... these are "digital", effectively there are only one switch for every extreme of the zones.. only can tell if all left or right... a nightmare indeed

got my logitech g27 for 150 and made my old stand from 2 old chairs, worked fine for 2 and a half times i used it, because i simply couldn't be bothered and went back to a controller, you get fatigued pretty quickly and it's always in a way unless you have like dedicated room for it

    1) You should have calibrated the wheel inside the WIndows first. It's a really hidden option but it's necessary for proper use of these basic wheels. Remember using my good ol' Wingman Formula and it basically had to be recalibrated before every use. Then it served well.
    2) Using the chase camera with a steering wheel is very unnatural and no wonder you didn't drive well. You should have tried hood or interior camera.
    Fun video though.

Honestly if you're a casual and want a great system to start, go for the Thrustmaster T300RS GT with a Next Level Racing F-GT Lite & spend a bit more on the Wheel Attachment like the Ferrari SF1000 F1 Wheel or a Sparco style if rallying. Best £1000 I ever spent and it can all just fold up easily afterwards so it doesn't just take up a tonne of space forever but still be rocksolid, fully customizable to be either full F1 mode or GT mode and pretty comfortable for long sessions. Gotta say I love the fact it has much leg space! Will never buy another playseat because of that stupid damn bar that is in the middle that holds the wheel. Also the SF1000 is an absolute must! IMHO this is the best price/performance out there and can always have addons along the line if you wanna upgrade pedals, brake levelrs and gear shifter (which I also got too)... Happy Simracing 😉👍🏻

    G'day Dawid,
I got my Logitech Momo wheel set off Ebay for $0.99AUD😂, it was even local so no shipping. I use it for ETS2, it was very easy to set up using the ETS2 Options & it works great with very linear steering input. I would like to upgrade to a G923 though, but down here for the full set with H Gear Shifter they are about $650AUD 😭 & not much cheaper used.

I had on eof those screw- to- the- desk- wheels in my youth but quickly returned to keyboard tapping ever since :) New sim rigs are expensive and new racing games never seem to get the feelling and force- feedback right from the getgo. My dream would be a Frontcut form a real car with a giant monitor or beamer behind the windscreen :)

The involuntary shaking of the steeringwheel trying to correct the car is the realistic force feedback that is built into it. They have put years of R&D into the technology before they released it to the public.

The best and most stable setup you can get on the cheap is probably what I did: A used Logitech G920 wheel, or even the older generations, they're still fine, get a seat from a scrap car at the scrapyard, and then just build the frame from some wood. :P I use a VR headset as well, so I don't even have to think about a monitor stand or speaker holders.
