Never cease to amaze me how most men in America build stuff/ complex projects sometimes by themselves with no help from friends or relatives. Find myself in that predicament. Thank God for all the resources He makes available to us in this great country that millions want gone.
First the cabin and an outhouse, then the shop to hold whatever tools, etc. Then what??? LOLOL You'll be building new items for a while and WOW WHAT A VIEW!!! Your site just popped up out of nowhere how GREAT!!! Thank you for sharing and great video!!! God's blessings.
❤ 13:10 of 13:48-From the front of cabin, looking to lake ⛔️ 7 foot white pine to the left is gonna be a scenery blocker in 2 years ⚠️ Right now with a little patience and a little spittle, the tree can be transplanted in fall or early spring. Just sayin. I know you have your plans. by the way,,,, Great Video / Great Job ! ! : j
The only thing I would change is that you walk us thru the steps. Like the black posts you used inserted into the ground. I have never seen those before. And did you concrete them in? Otherwise wise I enjoyed.
No, it's a screw. You simply insert a 2x4 in the U shaped anchor and turn. You can do that by hand, just take the 2x4 in your hand and walk in circle around the screw 100x and it will screw itself in the ground. Please do not stack a wooden post before the joist, this will make the structure wobbly and unsafe, especially in the long run. Wood sometimes warps after a couple months drying and it could make the structure collapse on itself. You can buy spike extensions that directly stack on the screw instead. It's much sturdier than a wooden post extension as it can't slide out.
He shows the installation in his video titled 12x16 shed part 1 (oct 21, 2021). Fast forward to 7:30 in the video where he talks about them. They are pylex screws.
Excellent location!! Great job! Having built many small cabins myself, I see many cabins being built today and without putting any bridging between the joists. Most places it’s code. I would have put two rows of solid blocking in. One midway between front span, the second midway of the back span. These help prevent the stringers twisting with age! Just saying
I noticed you did not place any barrier on the underside of the floor system. How has the foamular insulation held up to rodents? Mice love this stuff by me....
Just 'discovered' your channel and am impressed already with your drive and energy. I'm looking forward to some interesting viewing. Good luck with your project and your channel. We'll be watching. Stay safe.
Oh, you guys also have structural screws over in the US! We use those a lot here in Canada. Tough, your wooden post quick fix terrifies me. It will make this structure very wobbly! Why not have used the 2ft spike extensions instead? They're only like 8$ each and they're plug and play. You can even stack multiple of them on top of the structural screw (between the spike and the adjustable anchor) and they support like 5000lbs each. I built a 15x16 shed 3 years ago using those structural screws and couldn't be happier. Nothing moved after 3 winters and it's sturdy AF!
Epic! How did you like the helical pilings? They are super interesting. Not sure how well they'd work down here in Virginia. Seems like a solid way to get going. Good work!

I'm happy I found this video, I'm wanting to build something on screwpiles like what you did. What dimensions were those floor beams you had strung across the screwpiles?
I used Pylex Helical Anchors. I have (2) videos in the playlist showing the installation. Thanks for watching! pylex.com/en/produit/adjustable-pylex-50-black/

What a crap movie. For minutes, the available building material is shown at normal speed. When construction finally begins, the playback speed is drastically increased. What nonsense.

Hello. I subscribed and I wish you perseverance. Greetings from Europe from Poland-Krakow.
Your channel found me & I’m glad . I love watching people build their dreams & have them come true. Beautiful location you have there. 👍👍
I continue to be amazed that you not been able to get someone to help. That is a lot of work for one person.

Which part was the quick fix? That block of wood under the first beam?
Hope you covered deck with a large tarp. That plywood sucks in moisture. GOOD LUCK 👍. Vinny 🇺🇸
happy dayz!!
nicht schlecht für den Anfang. bei uns in Deutschland gibt's das styrodur in 625x1250mm nicht so viel verschnitt wie bei euch!😆😆

Hi. Love your build. I was wondering if you think the floor joist would need blocking to help with the load of a bathroom wall?
go for it good job where are you at I"ll be watching Paul
Thanks for watching Paul!

😂 By not leveling the camera it makes your floor look way slanted.
Thanks for the tip. Didn't realize my tripod moved until it was too late. 😒

Hi there. I used 4x6 beams.

@@echoesupnorth2367 thank you so much for the reply. ✌️
Less high speed would be good. More narration would get us more involved. Great start tho.
Did u post a material list or can u
To estimate cost in my area
Thanks
Which part of Michigan is this?
How deep did you put those steel supports? Where did you get them?
The helical piles are 52" deep. You can order them thru Home depot or direct at Pylex.com.
I'm in Michigan as well. Where approximately is your build?. Nice views.
North of Gaylord. Thanks for watching.
I see that there are lots next to you for sale, are they still available and do you know approximate price? Id be interested :)
Whats the name of the lake?
Is it your camera but the floor has a big incline
Hello. What’s your total cost for this project? Thanks. Great video
10 dollars.
Dude... Take the intro Loon down about 50 db.
