I also watch Sam and Tom from Grafted. Yes, Brandon does a great job. But there are only a few besides that even have an understanding,..for sure.

I also enjoy David Tate's insights on "Now Let's Be Honest". However, he's so busy with his "in person" ministries that he can't do as much in a timely fashion. I recommend watching his deep dives into each apostle comparing the Bible, The Chosen, and what historical accounts and legends say happened to each apostle. I think he made it after Season 2. David Tate is young but a serious Bible scholar. I also love "Grafted" Tom and Sam's insights as Gentiles in a Messianic Jewish congregation. They are funny and informative. I also like Brandon Robbins and this Brandon but they sometimes do "click bait" tricks in their titles and info that can be annoying, but usually their actual information is good.

Mother Mary knew that Jesus would die, in Luke 2:35… 8-days after the birth of Jesus in the temple was Simeon who said that a sword will pierce through her own soul. Also the scriptures don’t really say that Mary knew (she kept thing in her heart), and in the Old Testament were prophecies that Jesus would be crucified (hang on a tree) - Mary knew full well that her son would die.

In psalm 22 there is a prophecy of Jesus’s crucifixion. Also in other psalms there are references to the savior’s suffering. Mary knew the psalms. She knew what was going to happen to the messiah.
Just a funny note, I was really excited to see the perfume trader as the first Asian character! I've always thought there could be a spot for Asian characters who would be traders from the east, not sure if there would be many people living there who weren't traders. Since I'm really into Asian dramas. :)

There is a Gaius mentioned in Acts, Romans, 1Corinthians and 3John. Do you think that maybe he could re-enter the scene once The Chose is expanded into the epistles and beyond? A girl can hope!! ♥

I've been buying the novelization of each series, and I've seen that the Season 4 version is meant to be out in May. Whether it will happen this way as things currently are, or not. I'll have to see. But I'm hoping that if I've not been able to watch the season by then, I might at least get to read or listen to this version first.

Thanks for your great reviews. Mother Mary knows what will happen to Jesus because if Jesus has shared this with his disciples, it is logical that he would have shared with his mother long time ago. Remember when Jesus went to Nazareth and asked his mom for the bridle given to him by his father Joseph that has been handed for generations? She knew then. ❤🙂
The Chosen is starting to get a following at our small church in northern Nevada. This summer there will be a family Bible study centered on The Chosen season 1. Exciting.

There is a book called "the fourth cup" by Scott hahn. He details the process by which the lambs were sacrificed.
Scott Hahn is an amazing author a world renowned Theologian and Christian Apologist. His works are amazing.
I was soooo disappointed in Shmuel... I had such high hopes for him!
It also never really elaborated on the prayer with Jesus on the mountain together after the feeding of the 5000. Other than to say they prayed together. But yeah, huge disappointment in his behavior. 😢

Episode 7 is by far, my favorite. I can’t wait until you can do a deep dive. I am definitely looking forward to behind the scenes for Season 5.👏👏👍👍
An interesting note shared by Bible Teacher Chuck Missler was that John the Baptist wore woven camel hair and a leather belt/girdle. Jewish legend per Chuck was that when Zachariah went into the Temple he removed the camel hair and belt worn by Elijah from the Ark of the Covenant and passed it on to John. Prophets were known to wear such garments.
So the bridle passed from those with Moses to David to Joseph to Jesus demonstrates the history of the people of his tribe. Just like the prayer tassels passed on to Matthew.
I find it interesting and plausible ancestors passing on simple yet significant items as gifts to cherish the heritage of their belonging to God.

Since we will probably Never see SEASON4---- no matter what D.J. said about "4-7" weeks, etc. We've been told "coming," before ,and the theater views did not work for the Disabled or the theaters, and the church viewings were few and far between.. I believe Dallas has those with Chronic pain conditions, in his family-Would he have them in downtown parts of town, in seats for hours, then--Looking for cabs or Ubers in the Dark and downtown traffic? I doubt it!
The cinnamon cakes were also a problem because they appeared to not be unleavened.

Hi Brandon, love your work! The reason a lot of people love Matthew's line "So you want us to borrow a burro?" is that "burro" is Spanish for donkey. Kind of an inside joke for those who know Spanish. You should've heard the belly laugh I let out in the theater when I heard it!..😂😂😂

I don’t know about the anointing, but the Jews had to get a spotless lamb and care for the lamb in their home. They had to love the lamb as a pet before it was killed.
They actually had to have it for 3 days to make sure no blemishes appeared before the sacrifice.
vegetarian. Can't stand the thought. Respect other ways, but I respect MINE, too
Vegan here and it is horrific to me also, like 4H where they have the children raise and care for the animals then send them off to be killed. I have read Jesus freed many animals awaiting their deaths at the temple-"I desire mercy not sacrifice" comes to mind, also. Many Holocaust survivors are vegan also, one said it is because we know how animals are treated.

on episode 8, i was expecting Shmuel & Yussif when they visited Lazarus home (where Jesus is) that they have some conversation about Lazarus ressurrection, as Shmuel was investigating…
Please note that David's son Solomon is Bathsheba's son and was born much later than his older half-brothers Amnon, Daniel (Chileab), Absolom, Adonijah, Shephatiah, and Ithream. (2 Samuel 3; 2 Samuel 12).
Yeah I was going to say he got that wrong. Daniel comes before Solomon, not afterwards. This flashback of David was before he met Bathsheba

Honestly - I thought the bridle was a storytelling device, not something scriptural or historical. Just something to reinforce the point that Jesus was from the line of David.

Joseph was Jesus’s adopted dad, but not his bio dad.
Jesus was conceived when Mary was betrothed to Joesph and the Holy Spirit came upon her. There was a big to do about Joseph thinking about ending the marriage contract b/c she was pregnant and he knew he wasn’t the dad.
BUT the important point is that Both Mary and Joseph are descendants of King David.
And it was foretold that the Messiah (Jesus) would be a descendant of David.

Yeah I probably misspoke 😅 we’ll be diving deep into all of that as these episodes come out for sure.
@emdesign8766 yeah my ears pricked up too on that small misspeak. It was the Greeks that fought against the Maccabees of this time and it was actually the Jews of that era that actually brought Rome into the picture by enlisting alliance with them to help them defeat the Macedonians once and for all. How ironic!
That King David entry scene was beautiful I have either read or saw something about anointing lambs feet and head previously. I will try to find out where I saw this.

Yes previously I did see something about this and there's actually quite a few different teachings and a sermon from logos when I Googled it and it seems like a lot of different people have inquired online about this practice however now I remember when I had heard about this once before I kept hitting dead ends because no one documents where they got the information from on this practice nothing saying it was in the Mishnah or some kind of written Traditions it's not scriptural I know Shepherd's anointed their sheep for medicinal purposes and there are specific instructions for the Passover Lamb in the Old Testament it does mention bringing the lamb into the home to prepare it for sacrifice however actual anointing the head and feet specifically of the lamb for the sacrifice I think is kind of a Christian urban legend Jews for Jesus and Chosen People Ministries have been to my church and they have never mentioned this either. for a while there was something going around on the internet about the reason Jesus folded his head covering after the Resurrection was due to the fact there was a Jewish tradition that when a guest was at dinner if they folded their napkin it meant they were coming back and I Googled that one thinking that sounds beautiful and I found out they didn't use napkins back then they would wipe their mouth with bread. Jesus gave an explanation of his anointing Jesus explained it he said that she was preparing my body for burial whether Mary realized that or not I don't know but that was Jesus's words so I guess we just have to stick to that...Amen? We have to be careful what we believe. Sorry I knew I had heard it before but forgot I never found a documented historical resource.
