    Isaiah 53 always makes me cry. "Led like a lamb to the slaughter" is one of the most, if not the most, heartbreaking and sobering lines in all of scripture. In so few words, you understand Jesus's innocence and gentleness, and how absolutely violent and undeserved His death was.

      @michaelhenderson6786 6 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Its easy to be overcome by emotions with scriptures so descriptive such as Isaiah 53, but lets not forget the promises incorporated with it. All those suffering He endured so that we may have life and live it more abundantly! By His stripe we are healed!

    I love how they portray the relationship between Lazarus and Jesus. From Scripture we know that Jesus dearly loved Mary, Martha& Lazarus, but it’s wonderful to see how it could’ve been 1st century Israel. They’re snarky with each other like close friends or family, but when all is said& done, the love between them was authentic and genuine. 😍😍😍🙏🙏🙏

      Right?! It’s so interesting how we as Christians know the story via text in the Bible, but for the people who actually were there, I could only imagine how creepy it would be to see someone walking out of a tomb. I honestly never thought of that until this episode, and I’ve heard this story millions of times. Imagine seeing someone coming out of a coffin. If I saw that, I’d be screaming and running for the hills or passing out.

    The conversation with Lazarus and in the finale with his mother holding hands are two scenes that really moved me this season. One thing I think has been missing from most adaptations of the gospels, is showing just how terrified Jesus is of what's to come and how he attempts to process it. This show has portrayed this beautifully throughout the season and Jonathan's acting has been top tier. The Son of God is prepared to do whatever it takes to fulfil the mission, but Jesus, the man, is absolutely terrified and struggling emotionally because he knows exactly how much suffering he's about to endure. The garden of Gethsemane scene next season will be incredible.

    The conversation Jesus has with Lazarus may not have been in scripture, but it’s so cool how the Chosen creates conversations that enlighten people to the understanding of scripture and link things like Isaiah with what is happening in the gospels for people who may not have known this before. As much as a lot of Christians watch this show , the fact that they use stories to explain things and connect the dots of scripture and who Jesus is helps the less learned and non Christian understand and is thus educational and evangelistic. This is epically awesome

      Thank you for saying that. There are some who reject the show writers and runners for injecting any creative liberties of conversations and words Jesus say in the show that are not in scripture. Scenes like this are done for dramatic purposes, and while this particular conversation with Lazarus may not have taken place, it doesn’t depart from the theme of Isaiah’s prophecies.

    @20:09-the caveat with Jesus. Yahweh is experiencing a human existence in a human way. Jesus is Yahweh’s theandric existence, and as the man Jesus, Yahweh is at all times thinking an knowing as a mere man. And yet when He knows something beyond human wisdom and insight or performing miraculous acts, it is always by the anointing of the Spirit. The Chosen is doing a fine job of portraying this.

The resurrection of the dead is yet to come, when God's Kingdom comes "on Earth as it is in Heaven" like Jesus told his true followers to always pray for; Acts 24:15; 2 Timothy 2:18

    I think it is important to notice... and acknowledge... that Jesus was very hard on the religious leaders of the Temple. He said stuff like "you who say they are Yahudim (Jews) and are not... You are the synagogue of Satan". Remember that he did NOT go to the Temple for guidance... he went there to guide THEM. To be baptized he went to the Zadok line of priests in exile in Bethabara - John the Baptist. Seeing this... how do we love the "Jewish" through the learning curve? What are we to think of this legalistic religion that has obviously missed the mark? ... and we want to trust those same people today? to guard and guide what it means to be of Yahueh? Are we to trust them to safeguard ANYTHING official from God? Perhaps we need to walk the extra mile with THEM in this time?

    One that I want to find out when I'm in heaven is what was it like for Jesus to be both fully human and fully God. My brain really can't comprehend what that must be like.
    Was he 'all knowing' all the time? Or did he sort of disable that knowledge most of the time to live a more human life letting God the Father make him aware of things when he needed to know them? I'm going to have so many questions when I get home to heaven. LOL

Will he be there when he arrives on the donkey? I know this conversation wasn’t in scripture but you have to admit, it helps humanize what had just happened. Though supernatural, it’s natural for us to ask questions. I’m looking forward to Judas losing his mind over the money spent in the nard. We’ll see how they filmed that as well. Yes, Isaiah 53 is prophecy about Jesus. Jesus came to fulfill that prophecy - to live out that prophecy. But in the day that Isaiah wrote it, Jews interpret this passage to be a reference to Israel - God's chosen people. Lazarus would have questioned Jesus on that. " Isn't that a reference to our people? To all of Israel?"

    2:51 The other way I think that could happen is if the person didn't leave their body after the body dies. And the spirit most likely not coming aware of itself and trying to function the body. But like a car that does not have any gas. It just would not run. What would happen if he wasn't resurrected, and he didn't go to heaven or hell. Is eventually he will become aware of his spiritual side of himself. And it will act independently from the body. But in his current state, it would take a little while. This isn't exactly a good thing. Because it would be what they would describe as a ghost. In a little bit more than that. He will be literally trapped in a world filled with beings that are corrupted by angels a long time ago. And had deal with the fact that he is unique. And not like them. AKA I am talking about the unclean spirits, or known as demons. It might not be in hell, but it would be just as if he is. He'll be in a world where he can't properly interact with anyone or anything and the only ones, he could act with are actively at war with God. He may run encounter with an angel from heaven. they more than likely might not like to give him a light a day.
    So I wouldn't want this to happen to anyone. And generally, people either go to hell or Abraham's rest in this time. later to heaven.

    This comment is certainly not something of faith or salvation, but just something to be considered... In the closing verses of the book of John, Jesus tells Peter how he will die. Peter looks back and basically asks, "What about him?" To whom is he referring? Doesn't it make sense that he is wondering about Lazarus? He already died once, remember?!! Whoever it is, this is the same person who wrote this Gospel. There are lots of other reasons to think that it was not John. It was not called that until, I believe, the 3rd or 4th century. That doesn't mean it wasn't inspired. I just always feel compelled to mention this because it makes so much more sense that it was written by Lazarus, and talking about the reactions people had reminds me of those last verses in the gospel of John!

      Ramah was a fictional character and the storyline helps to set up “doubting Thomas” which is also in scripture. The raising of Lazarus is also in scripture.

    • @user-wi3bt9xg5h
      @user-wi3bt9xg5h 6 วันที่ผ่านมา

      The storyline of Ramah and Thomas is fiction. The writers are telling a story. And to link it in to the Biblical truth of Lazarus, the weeping of Jesus, the pain and grief of Lazarus’s family and the joy and comedy after he was raised from the dead - all the while Thomas is standing there - is ridiculous. And it has nothing to do with a doubting Thomas.

    • @JeeCeee
      @JeeCeee 6 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      ramah is not on the bible , they just add her to interpret thomas as a doubtful apostle. Lazarus is in the bible and its the will of the father to ressurect him with eyewitnessess thats why today in israel the tomb where lazarus was resurected is still there and people still visit there

    • @jorinebustraan9659
      @jorinebustraan9659 5 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      Personally, I assume that the writers of The Chosen have decided to introduce the non-biblical character of Ramah (and have her not be healed) mostly for those of us who have also lost someone or didn't experience healing - as a way to help us deal with all the questions and to grow closer to Jesus in the process. It really impacted me when Little James talked to Jesus, earlier on and now we can feel with Thomas in his pain and questioning. Besides, Dallas himself hinted at a larger arc of growth for Thomas - this is not yet the end of the series, not by a long way! Also, remember that Jesus tells Lazarus here that his resurrection wasn't so much a case of "who" (and therefore "who not"), but rather a "when", in other words: this was to set in motion everything that is to follow after that event.

    God can not die. A real death sacrifice was needed to pay the ransom for Adam's choice. God sent His firstborn, His most dear and beloved of all spirit beings. The one God begot before the universe, before any angel. God, who has no beginning, begot His firstborn, the beginning of everything, before the angels or the universe and sent this most precious of all as a ransom sacrifice. Hypostasis/trinity god doesn't make sense because it is a lie. God sending His firstborn, only-begotten makes sense because it's the Bible truth. Jesus continues to serve his God and Father Jehovah long after his resurrection to Heaven - Revelation 3:12. The Father and the Son are two separate beings in Heaven. The Father has the power and can give that power to anyone He chooses. He has given all authority and the power of the holy spirit to Jesus, but Jesus still serves his God and Father Jehovah - 1 Corinthians 15:24-28

    I don't think Lazarus experienced the wonders of Heaven at his passing. Since Jesus is still walking the Earth at this time, nobody can enter into the kingdom yet. It's not till after Jesus asends into Heaven that the gates are opened again and all those that have died before and up to that point can get in. It's because of Jesus's resurrection that we all can now enter into the kingdom.

      I think Mary & Martha were referring to Paradise in Sheol. Remember the story about the rich man and the begger that went ti Sheol - one on the punishment side and one on the Paradise side called Abraham's Bosom. The were both alive & conscious in their spiritual bodies. It would've been the Paradise side that Jesus took to Heaven with him after the resurrection.
