LOL 😂😂😂
It's mark from the gospel of mark the boy in linen
😅
I think this could be Zaccheus from Luke 19
When is the deadline for the trip to Israel, and what does the 500 dollar deposit cover?
I think this is a spy from Disney to find out why Chosen is so popular.....
🤣
😂 LoL, good one
Clever.
😂😂😂
So funny
Wow! It just hit me that Judas the thief didn't get save because he ultimately didn't trust in Jesus, but the thief on the cross did get saved because he trusted in Jesus!
It’s so heart warming when we receive revelation! ❤
Flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but our Father in Heaven. It is also about surrendering ALL agendas of what Jesus should be accomplishing through us, and what we NEED to see Him do.
@@jenniferoutlaw1975 yes true! Wow
Judas also tried to force the hand of Jesus by making him take power over the Romans starting what he thought was the kingdom of heaven. He also never repented, or asked Jesus for forgiveness so he didn't believe that Jesus would rise. He just threw the money away then ended himself in despair.
Actually, the guy on the cross next to Jesus was most likely a zealot rather than s thief. It seems to be a translation thing, but the word used in Koine Greek can be used for revolutionaries, and the cross wad a very common punish for revolutionaries, not actual thieves.
He's not eating... So he's NOT Atticus's son!!! LOL!!!
🤣🤣🤣🤣
True. lol 🍎
That’s funny. I remember seeing an interview with Brad Pitt and he explained that many of his scenes call for him to be eating something because he really sells eating in a scene and it suits his looks and face. I sort of see the same thing in the Atticus actor. Maybe it’s written in his contract. He kind if does look cool eating. lol
🤣 ROFL 🤣
😂
I never would have thought of the possibility of it being one of the thieves on the cross but that is very possible now you have mentioned it! Thanks!
Good guess! Makes perfect sense with exactly how you explained it.
I mentioned this idea also in another video.
Could be someone keeping tabs for Nicodemus
Interesting thought
That's what I think too....he's "away" doing research. Could be his son, hence the ring
Great observation!
Joseph of aramathea perhaps
@@Patricia.Pangan8 I believe we already know who Joseph of Arimathea is
I rewatched the scene of Lazarus rising and found that the sketchy guy had two rings on the fingers of his right hand. One on the pinky and one on the ring finger.
In ancient Roman culture rings on the pinky finger denoted wealth, citizenship or status and could also be where a signet ring was kept. So this guy was wealthy and had some status and possibly Roman citizenship.
My guess is that this might be Saul of Tarsus. Saul was a Pharisee who studied under Rabbi Gamaliel. He was also a Roman citizen. The multiple rings might hint at this despite his attempts at disguising himself. He dressed in rags with sack cloth over his head to look poor and nondescript. but kept his rings on?
If they prove his Roman citizenship that would be a good reason not to take them off while traveling around-lest there’s trouble with this Jesus of Nazareth fellow and he’s swept up and arrested with the rest of the people around. Having a ring to prove who he was would prevent him from getting flogged if he got arrested.
So my money is on it being Saul or an unnamed Roman spy.
That was my first thought as well as Saul became the worst persecutor of the early church of which he was deeply deeply troubled by after becoming a believer. He struggled with it the rest of his earthly life. It might have contributed to his thorn in the flesh that kept him humble. But, we will see.
Good possibility because Dallas did say he might delve into the early Acts (at least through the stoning of St. Stephen) where Saul is first introduced.
If Saul saw the ressurection of Lazarus, would he have persecuted the church initially the way he did at first? I always thought that Saul's actions were those of one who would have thought Jesus' power and reputation was mere heresay that is infecting true religion, and that his followers were false prophets.
I think you maybe right
A roman spy, yes. Saul, no. He said himself he never saw jesus in the flesh.
I believe this guy is a spy and has been sent by Ramah's father, Kaffi. Kaffi said "I curse you and all your followers." He also said "you will see me again and when you do it will be the last thing you see." So Kaffi will be leading the charge with his followers in the crowd when Jesus is sentenced to being crucified.
Y'all are wrong. It is "Strider" from the "Lord of the Rings." He came to see the true King for himself. Trust. 😉
That's hilarious! I can't unsee that now! 😆😅
😂
Yes! Completely reminds me of Aragorn/Strider at the Prancing Pony! 😂
@@debbiemercier2642 Exactly!!!!!! 😂😂
😂😂😂😂
Another thought is that Gaius is sending people to watch over Jesus and try to protect him
My thoughts
I still think the "good thief" is the Zealot that told Z he would find his own way.
Saul of Tarsus, who would later be known as Paul.
That's kind of what I thought
Saul may have been a Pharisee and was Roman citizen. He would have been much better dressed given his class status.
Not Saul. Saul never saw Jesus before the resurrection per his own words.
Yes.
That’s what I’ve been saying!
A clue: just before Lazarus says that he is naked under his shroud.
Marc 14, 51
And there followed him a certain young man, having a linen cloth cast about his naked body; and the young men laid hold on him.
Mark is the only one to report this fact. Many scholars believe that this mysterious man is Mark.
I’m going with Joseph of Arimathea. Conveniently introduced during a miracle and also ultimately in front of an empty tomb. Joseph was a secret follower (head covering), and rich (the ring).
Joseph is Yussif I'm 99.99999% sure of that. Joseph is part of the Sanhedrin and he's wealthy, which lines up with Yussif perfectly already being a secret follower.
@@TheChosenSleuth so you’re telling me there’s a chance?
Joseph wouldn’t be wearing the rings
@@TheChosenSleuth agreed. that's my take on yussif too.
Seeing Lazarus raised from the dead would definitely give someone, like Stephen, belief in Jesus right away..... js
I Love your channel and how you explained The Chosen episodes! THANK YOU❤
He has a gold and amethyst ring that looks expensive. I'm betting on Roman.
Wow great observation. I didnt even see the ring.
@@audreychamberlain I zoomed in on a still photo. An expensive ring and a cheaper one made of bronze
Maybe he stole the rings? Hence, a thief…..?
Do the Pharisees have rings?
@@jeanhoover3406...on the cross?
Luke was the unnamed man walking with Clopas (Jesus’ uncle) on the road to Emmaus.
I'd love to be a fly on Dallas's wall watching you try to figure it out!
😂 he always makes fun of me when I’m wrong 😅
I think you are right about the thief. Makes most sense and fits how the show builds characters over seasons.
I think he is the Roman, who would say at the crucifiction ~ He truly was the Son of God and was the one leading the group that forced their armors on them at Episode 6!
I'm thinking that it'll either be Quintas (he has been demoted) or one of the soldiers that Jesus walked 2 miles with.
@@em_c-chucky5554 Yes, I don't think it'll be Gaius. His belief has already been clearly shown.
I thought that too, and looked back at that part of the episode, but then it didn't look like him. I'll check again.
Nah I think that is Atticus.
@@charlesfinnigan3904 he was revealed in episode 8 on Sunday
Satan tempts Jesus in the desert after he fasts for 40 days and 40 nights. He speaks to Jesus directly and Jesus to him. Mathew Chapter 4.
Jesus's estranged brother James (Jacob) or Jude! They knew Lazarus and their mother is present. This seeing their brother raise Lazarus from the dead would've opened their eyes.
But their eyes weren’t opened until after his resurrection.
Little James and Thaddeus (also known as Jude) are already portrayed as his brothers based on the conversation the three of them had at one point this season
The three of them having the conversation was in regards how it was when they first started the journey collecting the others. Season 1 episode 5 at the wedding in Cana where they told the others how they met Jesus@@KayRang
Uhhh, why wouldn’t Jesus say hi to his brother?
Little James was actually the son of Mary of cleophas. His paternal cousin And Jude is Thad. And big James and John are his maternal cousins. Mary salome was Jesus's aunt. Dig deep into the history. You will find answers.
Because he looks more European than Middle Easter, he covered most of his face, and he followed the Sadducee, who looked like he may be stirring up trouble, I think he’s spying for Atticus.
I thought it was the thief on the cross as soon as I saw him. This is likely the way that he knew who Jesus was on the cross and was able to declare such faith in Him.
Plus thematically it makes the most sense. Seeing Jesus raise the dead would give him faith as he was dying on the cross and believed that Jesus could do the same for him.
Saint Dismas.
I thought this too!!
And I believe that initially he might've been there to rob Lazarus' home. Word spread about Laz"s death. An opportune time to loot a dead man's home. Little did he know what he was.about to witness.
Yep. I can’t see them overlooking St. Dismas since that is such an integral part of the Passion.
He looks like one of the guys walking with Ramah’s dad when he was approaching them.
Yeah, I could picture him becoming a false witness in Jesus’ trial later
That’s a very interesting idea.
Ooh! I'll have to look up that episode!
If it's Barrabus, maybe there will be an attempt on Lazarus' life because people wanted him dead to counter the ressurection story. That's why he gets arrested and called a murderer.
Since you mentioned it, I would have loved to see what would do with the transfiguration. Loved the walk on water scene. Zaccheus would have been interesting in the course of the show, somewhere.
The actors’ name is Jake Sidney Cohen, but the cast list does not give him a character name for the show yet.
Sneaky
Yes, it’s me. I’m really just an extra on the show who got lost looking for the restroom on the set. For some reason the main camera focused on me 😂
I like the thief theory.
If that’s a Roman ring, maybe Malchus who loses an ear maybe he becomes a believer after that.
Malchus is in season five I think
Honestly that's my main guess
Yes! That is who I've been thinking it is all along and was surprised no one else was suggesting it! Good for you The Chosen Sleuth!
I think we've seen Mark in the chosen already the kid whose deaf dad was healed by Jesus was named Marcus (sp) and i think that the age and the similarity in names fits for him to be Mark.
Yeah his name was Telemachus, not sure that's close enough. I also think he is greek in the Chosen, but good theory!
I thought that Mark was Joanna’s son……
Make sense. In my native language, Mark is also called Markus.
Marcus a Roman soldier
The writer of the Gospel of Mark name is actually John Mark.
Don’t think Dallas would try to emulate a Satan character- been done in the Passion of the Christ!!🙏🙏🙏😍😍😍
If they do include a portrayal or Satan in the Chosen, I REALLY REALLY hope they use the Satan from their TheChosenIsNotGood charade
God did not give Satan prior knowledge of his plans.
I like how you made a whole video taking guesses and sharing your ideas on this mystery man! 🙂
Oooh a mystery!!!!! Thanks Brandon!!!!
He looks a little like the person that took Mary Magdalene to see Mother Mary in the Messenger episode.
Good observation, might just be him. 😊
Exactly what I was thinking I was thinking. He dressed like the older Matt when he went to see Mary at the beginning of the episode
This is exactly who I immediately thought he was as well!!!
Yessss I feel like I’ve seen him before in the Chosen world lol
I really think the thief on the cross is the zealot that confronts Simon Z when Jesus is giving a sermon. When he says mine is the last face you’ll see. And I’ll find my own way.
That would be awesome
@@osawellstv wouldn’t it!!
That was my first thought!
Totally agree! Yet, there were TWO thieves, one on either side
@@jorinebustraan9659 But only one believed in Jesus, as the Gospel goes.
The thief!! Brillant guess Brandon!
My dad is also banking on the theory
I say satan. cause he was not too surprised by the raising as everyone else. Satan knows who Jesus is and how powerful he is, so a resurrection is like a normal thing.
When I saw the man, I also believed he was satan
Can’t wait to know who this is. Dallas made a point to show him for a purpose. We will see when he’s ready to reveal him to us.
Also, Luke was in the messengers Christmas special at the end so they already have an actor for him!
I think it is Saul!
It is not Saul, he would have become a believer of Jesus after seeing Lazarus raised from the dead.
I agree! I think it is Saul. He was a Pharisee and worked against the disciples until the time that was in God’s will
Saul I'm sure would have mentioned seeing such a miracle in one of his epistles
Nooooo Saul is I think a Roman but he was on a mission to kill or imprison jesuses disciples,
untill he gets blinded BY GOD, n was given message from god that he is the true 12th disciples,
Cus Jesus said he would have 12 ,but Judas wasn't the one cus he doesn't count , 😮
I agree on the thief on the cross next to Jesus on the cross. Another observation on being on the left and right from what brothers requested earlier
My fav. guess is most definitely the thief on the cross. your videos are definitely often thought provoking. thank you for your time in making these videos.
Remember in Season 2 or 3 there was the large
Snake in the Garden of Gessemine and Jesus
was kneeling and the Apostles were asleep.
Satan would be the most interesting candidate. If not, I’m hoping we get a flashback to the temptation of Jesus at some point.
Same
I was hoping that would be an entire episode. But a flashback would be a good consolation.
Love your insight.
I guessed a spy gathering intel for Atticus in the first video. 🙂I think I'm still leaning towards that. In a previous episode Gauis tells Peter and Matthew that Atticus is watching Jesus. And, **SPOILER!!!!** Atticus is sharing his thoughts about Jesus with Pilate in the episode after the mystery man shows up. This option fits inside the show cleanly.
Even though they make it seem that way, Atticus couldn't be everywhere at once! :-) So he would need help in spying on the Nazorean.
Yes, the thief on the cross is the closest guess right now😊. Thank you so much.
I also go for Joseph of Arimathea. He has to be introduced early on somehow. Before helping take Jesus down from the cross.
He is probably a spy for the Sanhedrin
"I think it is Joseph of Arimathea who followed Jesus in secret."
Rabbi Yussuf is Joseph of Aritmathea
We’ve already seen Joseph of A.. it’s Rabbi Yussef..Yussef translate to Joseph in the English language.
No, Joseph was the Pharisee and had a darker beard
Joseph of Arimathea is already present in the last episodes. He's the newbie at the sanhedrin called Yussif
Same guess!!!!! The thief on the cross. I was about to comment it in the beginning of this video!
I agree! I was thinking that too! The thief that believed!
I’m sure he’s a spy for Shemi. Watch the end of the episode. When the rabbi runs back to Jerusalem the guy leaves right after him. In the end you see the rabbi knock on Shmuel’s door. Then the guy knocks on Shemi’s door.
I was rewatching a bunch of episodes before the season finale and this guy bares a STRONG resemblance to the Shepard from the 20 minute Christmas special on the app. See for yourselves.
WOW I had not thought about that YES INDEED it just might be the thief on the cross. GOOD POINT.
I first thought about Barrabas, but I'm more incline to the thief, specially because if it is him, makes so much sense why he believed in Jesus. He would know that Jesus could overpower death, and he would know that if he's dying is for love, because he is the Messiah.
The good thief on the cross! What a great answer. Thanks for an idea I would have never guessed and I have a PhD.
I guess we have to wait lol non the less great coverage
That’s what I wondered!!!! Thief on the cross!!!
There is a theory, and some Bible scholars take it seriously, that Mark was the young man running away naked from Gethsemane when Jesus was arrested. He was very young, and also he might have been an Essene (the one more group apart from Pharisees, Sadducees and Zealots), hence only one layer of linnen clothing he was grabbed by as he was escaping.
I have a feeling the chosen will cast a little person to play Zacchaeus
It’s plausible, and makes the most sense it to be the thief! That gets my vote!
Not sure why you think he has a thin face when we can’t see all his face. I thought he looked similar to the taller zealot in stature and facial features but the two rings would suggest someone rich. I also think it would be unlikely the thief on the cross would be rich unless circumstances changed drastically to tempt him to steal. He did not appear to show any emotion to the amazing miracle he witnessed which is interesting. Definitely appeared to want to hide his identity making him even more conspicuous. Nice touch Dallas.
That man is the criminal on the cross that says, Remember me when you come into your kingdom.
This is a person there for a negative reason. He is disguising himself, and is "skulking around", as you say.
I think guess no 1 is right on the nail. I hadn’t thought about that fella. I had thought of satan, but you’ve explained that idea well. Can’t wait to find out 😊
Agree, Brandon. The thief on the cross makes the most sense ❤
I like the thief idea. I also thought it might be someone sent from Herod. That would give a chance to see Herod's reaction to learning about Jesus' miracles -- his worry that this is John, his curiosity about miracles, etc
The guy looks like James Caviezel making a cameo.
That is a good point.
I think the thief on the cross is the best theory yet. Especially to first appear at the tomb of Lazarus which is also a foreshadowing of Jesus's death/his resurrection from his tomb with Mary at the end of the scene. I can see how they could connect it so it would make the most sense - especially seeing how the Chosen puts things together. Good one!
Aragorn son of Arathorn
Thief on the cross seems most likely to me as well! Good call
If he's trying to appear to be poor, he should've taken off his rings. LOL
I was just thinking maybe Mark, but then remembered he didn’t have the tassels
Hey Brandon i watch a scene from episode 8 today with Martha washing Jesus feet with the expensive oils .... It seems weird that Dallas release that clip....But it was real good i also seen it in the theater 🎥 i loved that episode...
Sorry if this has already been commented on and I could be reading too much into this, but I thought I noticed someone following the group on the road to Bethany. As Mary and Little James are in their "walk & talk", it seemed someone in dark clothing was careful to maintain a certain distance off of Mary's left shoulder. Could have just been an extra, but they really caught my attention during that segment. As the camera focused on this guy at the tomb, my mind went back to that occurance on the road.
Thief on the cross, I haven’t thought of that. That would be so cool, he would say I saw him raise a dead man to life or something along those lines
I love your take. Im going with the thief also and those rings, did he steal them? Hmm?
YES!! That is who I was thinking!! But you didn't mention it so I thought well I'm prob wrong. But YES that is exactly whom I think he is. 😊😊😊
The brother of Jesus is a really good guess! Thank you for this. It would be interesting if it was Satan. The only time Satan embodies a human is in the End when he takes over the Anti-Christ. As far as Stephen or the Thief on the Cross, all good points. I can't wait to find out...
Yesterday I thought it might be one of the thieves/criminals next to Jesus on a cross. Someone mentioned the rings yesterday, and I can see there's one on his ring finger and one on his pinky. They could be stolen rings and seem out of place together on his hand like that. Also, would a criminal be inclined to wear the tzitzit, which he is not doing, as you said--I don't know? And why would he be a regular dude and feel the need to stand way back there and covering his head if he wasn't meant to seem secretive/curious/sneaky or get attention from us? For sure, I think we're meant to speculate as we're doing. lol But then, why would the criminal even be there and why would he care so much unless he'd already been interested? Just some thoughts. 🙂
Jesus had an extended entourage beyond the twelve that followed him around and I've heard that Mark may have been one of them.
Matthias and Justus would have been with him since his baptism in the Jordan with John.
The thief is an interesting option. Thieves often take advantage of funeral situations in modern times, maybe they did back then too.
So my one thought is did this guy know Lazarus? And was he part of the mourners at Shiva? Arnan did not know who Jesus was. Or did he just follow the crowd out of curiosity? To me the answer to that question would influence who this guy is.
Love your insight on each video. Gotta add I like your pulled-back hair much better!! Blessings!
It’s how I normally have it lol. I cut it back at the end of last year so it’s finally long enough 😁
Barrabas? Maybe? I haven’t finished the video yet but that’s what came to mind.
Same head cover as Atticus uses.
Brandon I'm sticking with his brother.... Remember when Jesus went to visit his Mother in Nazareth they were eating and he mention to Mary like where are the boys...She made some excuse to Jesus....But James his brother was at the crucifixion supporting Mother Mary ❤ LOVE YOUR SHOW 🫶🏼💃🐶🇺🇲 🏖🏝🏝🌞Fla
This is exactly what i am thinking too!! We have to be introduced to him at some point so it makes sense to be James!
G'day! The gospel of John references John's presence at the cross, not James' nor any of Jesus' family, except for His mother, of course. It says that John took Mary to his own home and took care of her from then on (after Jesus said, "Son, behold your mother.")
Interesting theories, I agree with the character not being Satan.
But the thief is interesting. 😯
The ring definitely throws us! It signifies status or wealth none of the names so far fit what the ring implies!🇺🇸😇🎶🌹🙏❤️🇮🇱
I think it’s the thief. It makes total sense to introduce him and build a story around him for when we see him on a cross next to Jesus. If he comes into play again, we have at least some idea and know that he witnessed a miracle or heard a sermon to have a better understanding of who Jesus was.
He looks like Halbrand aka Sauron from Rings of Power😉
Rings of Power is an insult to Tolkien's work.
@@Nicholas-MichaelI completely agree.
Ooh. A pre-haircut Sleuth post theatrical release!!!! 😅
I thought it could be Satan, because of the look on his face that Jesus had power to raise the dead through the Father .
I think it might be Saul of Tarsus, because Pauls name was mentioned during the episode in the scene with Mary Magdalene and Matthew.
