Other than that I really enjoyed the video and you've made a really unique analysis. After watching this I will give Legie a try for sure. Thanks.
@@honzzz_ by tragic i was meaning more as in how despite some earnestly good intentions, the socialist experiments in eastern europe didnt really pan out. also, has spytihněv posted/said that they’re anti-communist? i’d like to see that because that would make my interpretation of the story more interesting imo. again, i’d need to read more about lenin and soviet history to have a properly formed opinion, so im sorry that i may have come off as sympathetic to certain aspects of soviet leadership. thanks for watching though, i appreciate the comment.
@@Yeij The fact that these are the conversations being had shows what an amazing job you did on this video
@@YeijYes, he is anti-communist. The problem is that this game is full of references and people who haven't lived in such countries simply wont understand. I am from Slovakia and my Austrian friend had like half the fun I did. Great video btw.
someone being Czech or Slovakian being 98% more likely to hate soviets is, to say the least a very one dimensional way of looking at people
@@Wormopera No, it is not one dimensional. I'm Czech too and we don't share the American/British millenial fascination of marxism, we think very differently as a whole, because we know that socialism and all other collectivist ideologies are inherently authoritarian and destructive. Not a single person I've ever met in Czechia and Eastern Europe in general was sympathetic towards marxism, but it seems that it's sadly the opposite in Western Europe and some American states.
Bro only 600 views??? you deserve way more! good job
I played all of Hrot, beat it, and loved it. I haven't played all of Prodeus. It's not that it's bad, it's that it didn't keep my interest as much as the deep horror of fighting the mutant creatures in the midst of a Slavic country, drinking wine and eating bags of skim milk to get by moment to moment.
Getting jumpscared never felt so good.
yea i didnt mean to come off as a prodeus hater or to make the game look bad, i actually enjoyed it enough to finish it. imo it's overrated but admittedly has some pretty good level design towards the end game. despite not being as flashy as a lot of boomer shooters, hrot's too special and full of character to not be considered one of the best in its genre.
Loved your channel hopefully you can continue creating more content and not getting stuck in your head. you can only go up from here man such solid content.
21:04 Clumsy Kaiju mention 💪
10 minutes into the video, i installed HROT myself. about to play it
This dude knows FISHMANS???? hell yeah
Excellent, you sound like you may become one of my go-to youtubers, like Accursed Farms, Grim Beard, Logan from Earth, Majuular, One shot eye.
being compared to ross scott or grim beard is one of the highest honors i could receive. thank you, that means a lot!
Hrot is a masterpiece, amazing video!
20:57 “Sběrač hopsinek” 😂😂😂
He's back baybe!!
modest mouse!!! instant masterpiece of a video
As good as this video it's (it's really good) the thing I appreciate the most is you not pretending that it's funny to stumble over the names. I worry my eyes will eventually fall out from rolling them so hard.
Holy shit, the editing is ON POINT! How are you not WAY more popular?! the vibe is *IMMACULATE*
Great vid! Especially that you get into the cultural background and even cooked a meal for the video!
glad to find this video and see it doing well. the more people are aware of these easily missable gems the better. OP, go play Ashes 2063 next!
Really well done video. Love this game .
Hrot like, the tip of the spear or the tip of the arrow.
algo blessed me w this one
Brit is one of my favorites of the new boomer shooters the vibes are what set it apart from anyone else
Holy shit you have some genuinely insane production value for how undeservedly few subscribers you have, I’d expect something like this from a 5-6 digit channel
I was not expecting the Soundtracks for the Blind shoutout at the beginning.
Video deserves a like just for mention lonesome crowded west
Please please please play DUSK and make a video like this about it. This is amazing. Hope you make more great content like this!
thanks! i’d mayyybee do that with butcher’s creek. ive already played dusk (love it) but idk if a video is really worth it because of how many people that have covered it. also, ive got a couple of other vid ideas id like to get to first whenever i can.
@@Yeij that's understandable! Glad to know you've enjoyed it at least. Imma subscribe so I can see these next videos you got planned. Thanks for the reply and like!
Awesome video! Instantly suscribed
Fun fact, Karl Capek who wrote War With The Newts is the same guy who coined the term "robot" and the whole concept of a robot revolt in his play RUR. Strongly recommend reading both if you can get your hands on them.
Wow really happy I finally clicked this after it being recommended to me. I love these kinds of informative deep dive videos and you seem extremely knowledgeable and a cool dude in general. A weird thing I always get annoyed with is when people suck at the games they show off or play. I LOVE Civvie but oh man does he suck ass sometimes so watching someone who is actually skillful is a nice change! Your grenade kicks are on point haha. Instant sub when I saw you mention Frogmonster, I love that game and developer. Looking forward to watching your other videos and upcoming ones!
Thank you youtube algorithm
Actually insightful essay
you clearly did your research and have stuff to say
You deserve way more views
unlike some 30h retrospectives that have nothing to say and just summ up entirety of the game
also "hrot" is a slang term for drama
Really cool video ! I remember having the same desire to discover a new culture with the Kingdom Come game. After playing it I went to visit Czech Republic and I really enjoyed discovering this country after having played the game !
