      Good point. I am planning ahead thanks to warnings from you and others about the 1 cent difference for free shipping. I pre-planned this out now, so you can add a game to your cart to help with this as well. Go to "games" and filter by "4.99 and under" (I chose Among Us at $3.50 on sale / $5 normal price). Or just add any other game you were interested in getting anyway and kill two birds with one stone.

    Besides the difficulty to attain, I spent every day checking from june to september, AND being limited to 4 (not able to buy as gifts for others). I have no issues with the controllers. And it's pretty much needed to play the NSO N64 games correctly. I bought 4 and I don't regret it a single moment. Games like Star Fox and Golden eye it's pretty much required. Plus the Mario Party games. Not only that but if you have muscle memory it allows you to play like normal. But to each their own. But as somebody who bought all 4 controllers in 2023, being 2024 now. I would buy again.

    If this ever comes back in stock I want one. I find the 64 games impossible to play using either standard switch controller or pro controller and none of the third party ones like Brawler64 have that Z button in the right place which is the whole point of the classic controller, especially with the announcement that Goldeneye is coming I need that trigger in the middle

    I have one, and I love it.. there's no substitute for the identical dimensions and layout, yes the control stick is tight, but it makes me feel like it's a brand new controller from 1996 whether that's how they were out of the box back then or not. Who knows, maybe it'll loosen up over time? It sounded like the vast majority of your review was positive. Usb-c is great, rumble is great, no button mapping required or extra bells and whistles.. just pure authentic nostalgia with wireless capability. I'll deal with the touchy control stick in exchange for that funky N64 controler style grip and button layout.

    The tribute 64 or Brawler 64 and other N64 controller alternatives do not allow you to play some games in the specific way that you may require. Such as, in Goldeneye 007, I have to use the D-pad on the left and my R hand in the center for the control stick. That is the most modern way to control that game. I cannot do that with those other alternative controllers. I must use the original style controller for certain games to be playable.

    The stick of the Switch N64 Online controller is really bad. As you've experienced yourself, it's too sensitive but that's not all that is bad about it.
    Internally it's the worst of both new sticks and the original N64 stick. It has the same parts that wore down really fast on the original but also uses the same electrical resistance based hardware that tends to develop stick drift over time on newer style sticks. The original N64 controller had optical encoder wheels instead that don't develop any drift over time and can have an even smaller (nearly zero) dead zone than modern sticks.
    While I'm not 100% sure, sensitivity is something that could've been addressed with proper manufacturer calibration and adjustments. Either way, it's a pretty sloppy product Nintendo brought to market.

    • @VaiCloud
      @VaiCloud 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@mariokart8715 From my experience it not something that's common with GC, PS2 and PS3 controllers. However, those old controllers used to have larger dead zones than current ones, meaning there is more room for error before a stick would start drifting but that also means older sticks are less ideal for finer movements. Stick drift is a problem with Nintendo's (Pro-Controllers), Sony's and Microsoft's current controllers as they use largely the same parts and similarly small dead zones.
      Oddly enough, my launch model joycons are still fine, but I had several PS4 controllers drift on me.
      I wish we'd to back to optical sensors or maybe try hall effect sensors on analog sticks but I guess reliability is not a desirable trait for current day manufacturers.

      Not wrong just different. Just like the fact that I hate the Xbox controller and I know many people love it. I also know many people don't like the PlayStation controllers and those are my favorites

      @@RoXolid i don't play those so i wouldn't know but yes it would appear u are just odd & that being the case u give off false views. Like if someone said skittles tasted weird but neglected to tell others they don't have a regular tongue & or have sensitive or odd taste buds. Sure they can't fool those who already had them but to those who hadn't they might discourage them from trying them out. If u have an odd love for thing u should tell ur viewers that i guess idk

      @@Salvypapi87 You must be new around here as I am transparent with my dislike of Xbox controllers and preference for Playstation. Also, I have a like-new OG N64 controller and it the stick performance is much superior to the NSO version. An opinion is just that, not a false (not fauls) view. In my opinion, the stick on the NSO controller isn't as good as the original.

    Sounds like a great recreation of a terrible controller!
