We spent thousands of hours as kids playing this game, so it's so cool to relive it all over again as adults. It's super easy to use and set up too, which is something you can't take for granted when it comes to Nintendo and online multiplayer.
I was going to say that Iggy's Reckin' Balls in no way deserves to be propping up the bottom of this list but then the more I think about it....yeah, maybe it does. The Switch N64 lineup is damn strong.
I will always have a soft spot for Extreme G and was thrilled to see it come to the Switch service. It has held up so well since its 1997 release and is so much fun to play. The speed boosts, the music, the weapons and the tracks all make for a fantastic racing game. It was also one of the first games me and my brother got for the system (along with Banjo Kazooie and Super Mario 64). Overall a great list with some very expected results, but hey those games deserve to be that popular for a reason :) The next bunch of games I would love to see on the Switch service are: Top Gear Overdrive (what I call a bargain bin gem, I mean who wouldn't want to drive a taco?!) any WWF/WCW game by THQ (although likely won't happen for licensing reasons) Banjo Tooie (Really do believe this is only a matter of time due to recent Rare releases) Indiana Jones and the Infernal Machine (only got released in America so would be great to try that out here in the UK) Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire (great game! would love to play it on the go) Star Wars Rogue Squadron (same reason as above, and getting those gold medals are addictive!) Resident Evil 2 (this would be incredible! however unlikely as it would mean the switch service would need a higher age rating. BOO!)
It’s funny how every article written about harvest Moon 64 back in the day was basically like, it’s a farming video game! No seriously! Crazy to look back on now that farm Sims have become their own genre
Blast Corps should be in the top five to me. One of my favorite games of all time. Much more original concept and replay-ability than the N64 Mario Party and Pokémon Stadium games.
I love Zelda. But I wish I enjoyed Majora’s Mask as much as everyone else. I might need to try again. But my first time trying it on Switch, I got around 3 hours in and I just wasn’t feeling it. Idk. 🤷♂️
Pokemon Stadium 2 is one of my all time favorite N64 games. I have such fond memories of doing the gym leader tower with my Pokemon Silver team. It's such a shame you're limited to the rental pokemon in both games on NSO.
Man, I just can't imagine a world where I would choose Star Fox 64 over Paper Mario. Obviously this list had approximately 0 chance of matching my personal preference, but that one surprised me most.
@@X2011racer I’ve seen the PC port, didn’t look into it at all, but if it runs awful, I wouldn’t be surprised in this day and age. I hope that publisher brings it to consoles eventually. It’s been announced for it already, but just haven’t heard anything from them since the announcement.
It's nice to see the top 20 all landing in 8 stars or higher. It shows how despite lacking a massive catalog, the N64 still had quality games worth enjoying today
Hiding N64 (and Mega drive) games, (many of which I'd already purchased on Wii/U/3DS) behind a paywall really made me shake my fists in dismay and reminded me I had an N64 in storage. It's only cost about £500 in cables, console mods, scalers and cartridges and I can now play 1/3 of these games in their original splendor. False economies aside, there is something about the visual output (with or without disabling the layers of blur) of OG hardware that makes more sense with the graphical makeup, and input response is much better than emulation, though arguably not that useful at sub 20fps...
Golf and Tennis were great on the 64 (or Nintendo 60 based on what Felix kept saying), but they both got huge upgrades on the Cube in every sense of the word. Funnily enough, the Color games are better than the GBA ones

I know the very nature of a list of “best to worst” is gonna be ripe for subjectivity…. but even still, some of these choices are blowing my mind. Not at the top, those were obvious. I’m talking more in the 15-30 range.
I'd like to play Sim City 64, Cubivore (Doubutsu Banchou), Bakuretsu Muteki Bangai-O, Wonder Project J2, Starcraft 64 and all the RUSH games. Also like to replay Tetrisphere, Mischief Makers, Conker's Bad Fur Day, and Wetrix. I'd also root for Resident Evil 2 and DOOM 64 if Switch hadn't their remakes.
I’d be really interested in playing Micky’s Speedway USA; it was made by Rare and got good reviews. The old Micky Mouse games ended up on the Mega Drive Mini so hopefully the licensing won’t be an issue.
So I got the expansion pack yesterday and paid for everything, booted up Ocarina of Time today to finally get to play that amazing game, but was so disappointed and dissatisfied with the performance of the game that I canceled my subscription today. Now, my individual Nintendo Switch Online membership is going to renew tomorrow, when it was due for March of 2025. I could not be more angry than I am right now.
The fact the DK64 is still not on there is beyond me…

Mario party 3 released here
Hired it only once at video ezy before they sold the n64 games
I know the very nature of a list of “best to worst” is gonna be ripe for subjectivity…. but even still, some of these choices are blowing my mind. Not at the top, those were obvious. I’m talking more in the 15-30 range.
Kirby 64 is dangerously low on that ranking
yeah, it should be higher tho.
I bought the N64 to play Gauntlet Legends. Then returned it.
My goodness your sweater :O
I like your Winnipeg Jets hat. What's the story there?
I love it too!
Iggy's Reckin' Balls before DK64 what the actual heck...
Bro where did you get that Lego sweater
Ah, yes... The Nintendo 60. Great console 😅
Need to see bomber man 64, Diddy Kong racing, Silicon Valley space station, perfect dark, gex, rayman 2, DK, tooie, BFD
