Great explanation! Thank you! Have been looking for a video this straight forward for over an hour. I didn’t even think of the affect raised bars would have on key locking the bars to the left so thanks for bringing that to mind too
Thanks for sharing. You've answered a few questions. I'm currently working my way through the forum comments on this mod and I haven't come across anyone saying they had such extreme lock issues. They would be a deal breaker for me. I'm aware that some solutions require the screen to be trimmed, but none say the steering lock can't be used. ConvertiBARS appear to be the most versatile, but they're a bit ugly. The Jaws option looks good for a fixed bar solution.
Excellent review brother! I'm on the verge of investing in this kit for my ZX10R. I installed this kit on a GSXR K5 I used to have and loved it. The only qualms I had was high speed stability. You definitely loose down pressure on the front end at high speed. Again, great review. Thanks for sharing.
Just done this on my 2010 gixxer 750 and the difference it has made it excellent minor problems I'm having tho are can't put full L/H lock because of the brake reservoir hitting the fairing. And when I bought the kit the guy told me you can use original throttle and clutch cables but it's rate tight might buy longer 1s so I can hide them a bit better.
I have a 2006 cbr100rr and was thinking of doing the same thing, with the oem bars is nice just for a little bit, then you get tired. I had a bike before the cbr100rr with the same riding position as this and I could go for hours
If i had a bike like this, i would do this conversion too, even though i do not like the look. But, i am an old man, with bad shoulders, so i need this type of seating/riding position. If i was in charge of marketing for this type of motorcycle, i would keep the original style of bars and make them with a lot of adjustment. Now marketing and accounting would probably throw a fit, but i would insist it be done, because factory cost would be much less than aftermarket parts, not to mention time and labor.
The biggest advantage of a sports Naked Bike is working on it so much easier what a pain in the neck taking the fairing off that's why I would purchase a sports Naked Bike.
Hi Peter. Im just in the process of doing the same on my bike. Would appreciate to know which handlebar geometry you got there? ABM should have some Type number like 0439 or 0429 written on it? In order to look up the rise and the sweepback values. Thanks a lot!
Hi Peter 140. Did you buy the kit yourself? I have asked a UK supply for a ABM yoke with 28mm risers for fatbars but said they don't make them. I see yours has fatbars!
Going to swap out my stock handle bars on my '04 Yamaha R6 for the same bars. Riding my '17 WR250R I prefer the more upright position and so does my lower back. Doing this mod, did you have to replace the brake lines with longer ones as well as the clutch cable?
does anyone have the exact specs of this kit or a link to a site i can buy it from? the ones im looking at i dont think are the exact same. please help
Hi can i ask you ,the seller here in UK says model 06-07 the screen need cutting model 04-05 no cutting need it ,where exactly i have to cut the screen? did you have to do that? is your 2005? and second ,seller says the set is coming with longer clutch and brake brainded hose lines is that correct?
i want to do the same on my 600rr, but I want to know how changing the bracket affected the height of the bike? The original bracket is higher in middle, this cnc machined is flat. it seems any difference on how tall the seat is? the engine is not too low?
The kit is the ABS comfort kit - I did not measure the rise but the ergonomics are like riding a naked sports bike - Similar to a Triumph Street triple.
Now the handle bars are on the way of the suspension adjustments dial.. now you can't adjust the suspension without removing the handle bars.. and the bars are touching the windscreen.. WHAT A MESS!!! GREAT JOB!!

LOOKS GOOD ON THE BIKE TOO. THANKYOU FOR POSTING THIS VIDEO.
With the bar hitting the front fairing the throttle cable are in the wrong location. They should be at the bottom or bellow the throttle.

Ben_mac85 just cut the fairing mate
Informative. Another advantage of a super sports over a sports touring is less weight.
and more hp usually
That’s a comprehensive review. Thanks.

Did you go for it?
Brammy B I sold it and got a FZ09

Outstanding mod! I wonder if the newer gens can accept this?

How does the ride affect two up riding does is it better with passenger?

There is no drilling required for the ignition cylinder

Hi Peter. Thanks for the video. Where do you recommend buying this kit from ? Im in New Zealand.
This is the distributor I used. www.ausfr.com.au
Drop them a line, they may be able to recommend a distributor is NZ.

Which kit did you use? How much rise did you get with the bars that you used?
The kit is the ABS comfort kit - I did not measure the rise but the ergonomics are like riding a naked sports bike - Similar to a Triumph Street triple.
Peter 140 Great idea.
Why this one vs LSL?
Do you recommend this brand and year of bike?
Yeah - I recommend it. Works well for me

Your link/video is privet and cannot be watch.. I would like to watch you Motacc instal.
Probably very comfortable but kills the sport look of a liter bike..............
mrBIGego24 on the contrary, it enhances it. Id remove the lower part of the fairing too and expose the exhaust pipes 👌👌👌
Looks pretty ugly, but glad it's confy
