So glad I’m not the only one who removes bolts then screws them back into the hole they came from ( rather than keeping in a tray )

Oh that feeling when you first sit on the bike with nothing but the raw naked new bars. 😌 I’d love to see you custom make the throttle cables from a kit. I recently tried using a kit I got from Wemoto, but didn’t have success with creating a solid connection to the lug. I’ve got a better flux and will try again though. Good to see you back doing what you love. 👍🏼

@@Moonfleet41 legend, thanks mate. I saw many videos on TH-cam with conflicting advice about what needs to be heated and why. I also don’t believe I had the best flux. I was using plumbers flux but have now acquired better 801 flux so am keen to give it another go.

Glad to see you back Del, regarding the choke cable... You do realise that it's only a fast idle device and doesn't enrich the mixture in any way and therefore not really necessary.
Yes i knew that Tony.. the term 'Choke" has simple become a moniker these days rather than a functional name.! Showing me age mate.!

Thanks Tony, it seems that maybe many are thinking this is the first video back.. but i did the Harley shocks last week, so been back a week now, and really happy to be back in the garage. Brake and clutch hoses first, then i can deal with the cables.

loving the work delboy - i often learn things i didn't even know i wanbted to learn from you - 'gonna shorten the bolts' (ok - i know how to do that) 'and lenghten the thread' (WHAT? YOU CAN DO THAT??) :D
ha ha yes mate, easy to cut a little more thread on a bolt so the nut doesn't bottom out.. glad you enjoyed it, thanks for watching.

Now more important than ever, given the new virus variant spreading, is to limit your exposure. Seems the vax is no guarantee. I’m doing likewise but for a different ailment. Great to see yon back on the tools Del. I went to Carrot Cycles for custom length control cables for a recent project. The guys are super helpful and there pricing and quality are brilliant. Wemoto were unfortunately no help when it came to control cables
Thanks Jason, that's a great tip.! i have a cunning plan to make them myself from a universal kit, but it it doesn't work out, or they're a bit flimsy, then ill give Carrot a call for sure..!
@@Moonfleet41 tried them 😢😢 used the slinky glide universal kits. Tried crimping soldering the lot. No matter what i did i just could not get them to hold at all. But hopefully you have better results. All the best with it.
@@OuterLaneTrain Thanks mate, that's interesting, I see the little crimps in the kit and it is quite a hefty spring on the throttle bodies, so if it doesn't work out, I may just buy some custom made ones, there seems to be a few options... I guess even B-King cables would work!

Glad to see you back at it mate. Hope the recovery is accelerating in pace. With the longer cables and pipes, how about the B-King version of the Busa. They might fit.
Good thinking mate, I've got the hoses sorted and I'm gonna have a little adventure and make the cables myself if I can!... failing that, there are a few good companies that can just me some extended cables, all good fun and looking forward to it!

Del, welcome back!!!😎😍✨👍 My suggestion (if I may): Do not touch the grommets. Instead, make a 4 to 2 base adapter, with 4 shaped spacers, and a lower handlebar.
Thanks buddy, I'm going to replicate the grommets in metal to lock up the clamps, the same as I did in the Dyna WideGlide, there will be all the flex I need in the bars themselves!

My champion, 4 is stronger than 2, AND will also give the required rigidity. The grommets are there to reduce vibrations from the front wheel, and also to reduce vibrations from the engine when it goes up in RPM. Canceling them is not a good idea. In terms of beauty and design I am sure that you will make both Ideas/Designs for artist and glory.

Gotta love it. Del see's an aftermarket part and say's " Nice but I'll make it better " lol, the funny thing is he always does. Making your own riser bushings, this should be cool. i'd be interested to know what kind of plastic you're going to use, which I'm sure you'll explain, polyurethane maybe? Great to see you back Del, TH-cam was getting stale. 🍻

great vid as usual. I've been looking at switching out my clip ons with straight bar and all the different risers and converts made, but why no converter that simply bolts to the nub of the front fork the way the clip ons do? It would make the whole thing a piece of cake, and be stronger as well?

Thanks buddy, this is the second week back, I made the Harley suspension video last week and it's good to be back in the saddle, as they say! Funny enough, when I went out to buy a donor bike for the very first big project, I ended up with a Kawasaki ZX7R, but what I went to look at in the dealers was a Blackbird, and they're still a good option so it still may happen some day mate!

Hi mate good to see you fit and well just letting you know the Busa doesn't have a choke it's fuel injected it's called a fast idle lever 👍

I'm wondering if I can swap handlebars on my FJ12 and use conventional ones instead with proper clamps.
I did this before on my old sv650 by marking out and drilling the yoke.
I've done the very same myself on other bikes!
