Hi! I'm an official UFS dev and I can agree for the most part that the game has a lot of missed opportunities, I myself have no real influence on the games ideas and balancing. Though something I'd like to note is that svc game updates are BOUND to fall as they only get traction for like 3 days and then they go off radar for another 2 months. The same happened with ULC, and the same will happen with UFS.
so fun fact, i used to work on the concept team! i quit awhile ago during the era when laziestbones owned it. some of the skins such as: Punkfell (made by ant) and Swaptale (made by Brilage) sans were designed by us. Not only did they give us NO CREDIT, but they were also extremely rude to us. what we made was purely for fun and we received no payment or benefits. which most of us were fine with, Afterall our goal as a concept team was to help the devs by making character concepts and skins to help ease their work load. The way areoc treated me after i left and while i was there was very poor, not only is he extremely homophobic. he has the tendency to use slurs such as the n word and the gay slur against me. This game was killing itself from the inside out for a long while, it was only a matter of time before people started noticing. I hate how the dev team works in ufs, they are lazy and don't appreciate when people do stuff for them. Brilage and ant both deserve their credit for their work and concepts. and before im asked, i didn't like laziest as a owner of the concept server, but at least he was able to care more than the devs did about the game.
i hope this isn't true about areoc, considering he used to work on my game (kobk,) and i am still somewhat in contact with him. that's a BIGGG yikes if so... 😭
Honestly I think the main reason these issues are so bad is because of how big the pre-release hype train was. If this were a different SvC game that got announced and dropped a few weeks apart it wouldn't be so bad, but we've been waiting literal YEARS for this game and it could never match the hype people had.
I understand where your coming from, but putting all the blame on pre-release hype is just wrong. the way they are handling development and updates for ufs is just unacceptable.

Adding my opinion to this cus why not: I feel like UFS VISUALLY is amazing. The models are really high quality, the skins are quite good, and the effects (though sometimes WAY TOO FLASHY) are really good! BUT HOLY HELL WE NEED CHARACTERS Like said in the video some of the skins we got could have been completely separate characters (Possession, Paps.EXE, Time Paradox, Catastrophe Fell, ETC) That and the balancing for the Sans can be really boiled down to: Actually requiring skill and time or haha LMB + 1 go brrrrrr The same goes for the weapons/armors. Some of them have really cool concepts that in practice completely fall flat. Atleast with ULC almost every weapon is viable. Hell STICK in ULC is viable for crying outloud. In UFS i never see anyone use any other weapon then Worn Dagger, Toy Knife, Spear, or Empty Revolver. Same with armors. Everybody uses either Apron, Locket, or Royal Armor. Nobodies gonna see this but i needed to add my lil' ramble here
every weapon SHOULD be viable. wins determining power removes skill from the equation, like ujd the best player could be fighting someone braindead, but if the braindead person is using, say, omnipotant sans, the skillful person will lose. in ufs, some weapons/armors reign supreme. in ulc, stick, the starter weapon, is viable toy knife, 10 win weapon, is GOOD. tough glove is good, requires some skill to use right ect someone using 666 win koffin k with say, determination, would still lose against a very skilled classic user, a 10 wins character. only issue with ulc balancing is low-win sans team characters, which are getting reworked.
And the worst part is that it is supposedly the "ulc killer",and the ufs update vs the sins of the past ain't even comparable,like,ulc had 5 new characters(I'm counting hardmode ulc sans),3 new weapons,a new quest,2 reworked souls,3 buffs and nerfs(Hardtale ,papyrus,horror),AND 200 BUGS FIXED,and yeah the update did cause some more but they fixed it fast,while ufs had one character a gambling system and more skins
tbh the skin system did not exist the skins were just apart of gpasses/events i don't rlly mind. but i do want them to make like more content for gameplay like weapons/characters and probably fixing what's wrong with the game currently
here my opintion on the skin update: 1. there was no fun 2. it was crap 3. there was many unneeded things we didnt ask 4. barely things we asked and i want next update to have more fun included

The hype I had on ufs was immense They were doing fine when they started then they just decided to just show-off they're models instead of gameplay, they said the SvC mode will be different than other SvC but sadly there were no different mechanics.

ngl , ulc will slowly get BETTER . . so not only is ufs already fighting with a disadvantage , but ULC is getting boosted too because of it adding reworks and stuff . ULC removed bone , the "press m1 to win" weapon . They removed something so the game could be fun . ULC cares about community , UFS is trying to sell the same thing over and over . We'll have 20 skins on each character before we get 20 characters in UFS .

it's pretty much confirmed that UFS is doomed. even the devs are calling the next update the 'funeral update'. such a massive disappointment istg. the devs spent 3 years hyping this game up as the next massive roblox UT game and right now it can't even compete with sans multiversal battles 2 (an already cancelled project) 💀. UFS deserves the fate it got imo, quite a few of the primary developers were massive assholes who bigged up a game that wasn't even out, and look where it got them.
I feel like UFS is fundamentally inferior to ULC due to ULC's progression system. Progression in UFS is extremely TERRIBLE for chara team, Its boring, slow and annoying considering you are playing on chara team way more than as sans. Even though ULC is much less polised the devs work on it faster and more consistently even if quality and balance changes are often questionable they eventually get things right. Ulc overall is extremely difficult to compete with as its been on roblox for the longest time and manages to keep up with competition and quality of other roblox games.
Yes! This is true, ULC has been around for so long, and it has survived the catastrophe that was Aiden, not to mention it has been consistently putting up progress reports, responding to the community, hearing complaints, AND fixing so many bugs after updates/when they update (200+ bugs fixed, Jesus Christ)

i can only appreciate 2 parts of this update 1. the existence of punk fell sans that shit peaks 2. inverted fate getting recognition that shit ALSO peaks. the character's cool, but the blindness is not fun, since it's used as a reward for sans and NOT a punishment for chara, when it should be the other way around other than that, it just feels... sad if we got a MASSIVE update after 2 years or smth that'd be awesome but instead we waited a while for a big reveal that turned out to be nothing the game would frankly be better if there was NO update, so we have the illusion that progress is being made now we have confirmation that there's nothing
Honestly the game is just missing content, LOTS of content. For example you could get to 500 wins pretty easily and there is near nothing to do. Without the sans upgrades implemented yet, sometimes i feel like there is nearly no point to play sans other than for fun or discovering what that sans does on your 1-400th win. While i did enjoy the skins and maps most of them being charming it just feels dull fighting them or using them. And i do understand making games takes time with most of these devs being in HS so im not surprised that updates take a while. If they just add more gameplay content rather than cosmetics i see myself playing it alot more.
The thing I despise about UFS is the lootboxs. I would have much preferred an option to buy crates with GOLD, but the only option is to spend Robux with the chance of getting the same skin again. I spent 99 Robux and got Outer Sans but with a worse OST. Definitely a rare skin, huh guys?
Not to mention that I had better chances getting a rare skin from a common crate that was actually good, then an actual rare skin crate. (I spent robux on a crate before the round started, and I can’t tell if I got nothing or the skin I got was Pacifist swap Papyrus, who’s just swap papyrus with glasses.)
I had really high hopes for UFS, but now I feel like the developers getting greedy with this gambling update. I’m likely only going back to UFS when a new character comes out/is finished or if you can use GOLD to buy skins.

honestly, if they focused on adding more characters, which as you said, could've been done with a LOT of skins, the game could possibly stay alive for the next update if it doesnt take an insane amount of time to release. Another thing that would help the game stay alive is upgrades. It would keep people playing the game and it would make characters way more interesting. I think it's one of the main reasons why ULC has more active players.

UFS really just dug their own grave. They should honestly kind of do their updates kinda like how ULC does, update both teams at the same time. Cause if you update just the chara team, the sans team will suffer from that update. THEN they decide, "Oh why not just add skins that WILL NOT IN ANY TYPE OF WAY AT. ALL help the sans team!!!11! They honestly had so much time to add so much new content to the game after all months they had been out. They honestly killed themself with the updates. I really hope UMSR doesnt fall down this same path. Cause by the look of it, UMSR is already close to this fate aswell. (Edit, UMSR isnt gonna die, I mean, it's def gonna be a game that'll push against ULC.)
UMSR was a fun game (until they took it down, #bring back UMSR!!!,) and the game play was peak, it was goofy, you could combo, it was good and so were the skins. The characters were also creative bc you had a special ability depending on who you chose. Examples: Susie had a Tp mechanic like in delta rune where if the enemy gets near you, you rapidly gain tp and tp allowed you to use red buster and ultimate healing with ultimate healing as the name applies, heal the enemy team but a little bit but they take extra damage and red buster is like a ray of red pillars that can semi track players and with sans you can teleport the chara team setting them up for the most gnarly combo to exist or impale someone and bring them right towards you allowing you to also combo them, and with jevil? he really is a speed demon with his feats
@@ashtonjr That was a stress test. They were just seeing if it would be close to ready for players. It's gonna come back, they're just working on more stuff, and it's probably gonna be in a beta so you can play it all the time (That's a probably with the beta tho)
I don't think ufs is unbalanced, it's just that the balance is geared mainly towards REALLY experienced players. Also, that horror oneshot combo you showed was nerfed a while ago Apart from that, I agree with everything you said in the video, hopefully the devs listen and learn from their mistakes.

I think you're forgetting about outer and dust sans, like with the ragdoll effect and huge dmg of outer tale PLUS reworked domain expansion which made it more op while dust sans flame effects are cancer and last forever,sure you can roll but the game never told ya about being able to do that to get rid of the flame effects
I have an idea for UFS characters, they could make the characters weaker but also make low win and mid win servers and then they could add upgrades, like crossbones freakin having a side kick blaster, or pacifist becoming joking aside where he could use blasters or unlock snowdin by defeating dust sans in a different mode to gain him but not make him cancer to beat.
4:26 Honestly ULC had the best april fools update, where if you had 4k exp on dust sans and all the singleplayer badges expect hate then you would have the ability to use dustdust who is a strong character yet unique, but overall I think UFS already killed itself by first doing the win lock and then their april fools event, the april fools event is one of the best updates to UFS, not the one with little sans and sukuna and blah blah, no I mean the one before UFS was even released.
Honestly dustdust was not a unique character at all, all of his moves were copied which is a far cry from stuff like super science sans ( Ujd is goated for giving an actually cool character ). I mean it's understandable it's just a joke But don't flaunt that as something ulc did well. Though it was better than playing sol's rng 0.5
@@SansINess53 Spear rain was taken from an admin character, the shadow clone was the first look at Perseverance's rework, and the bone throw I haven't seen but believe it's another admin character move. The devs themselves said that they just took a bunch of random stuff from their other characters because they found a good model for dustdust.
big W video but i think you forgot about the potential game kill updates example: resets RESETING EVERYTHING, and you have to do it multiple times to unlock a certain item or gain more lv. A skill tree that just makes it alot harder for newer players "fixed now" and much more.
As a ULC fan, I can say that ULC suffers from a few of the issues you listed. For example, the 20 million visits event is a rerun of the 10 million visits event, thus making it so people who already had the ulc sans skin (which I did) cannot look forward to these events. Not to mention updates have slowed down significantly lately.

Not really, they specifically are rerunning the ULC sans event for retro mode. Which is usable if you have ULC sans thus making the visit events about ULC sans isn't that bad.
Lets also not forget the whole four charas vs one sans which is beyond unfair in games like these, because 99 percent of the time if you don't have a phase 2 your going to lose and even if you do the odds are stacked against you, because theres more of them then there are of you.
expanding on the point of missed opportunities lets look at how unique the main playable cast is . 4 out of 12 characters are some kind of swap. 6 out of 12 battles take place in some sort of snowdin. and also most of the au's are really old he latest au to come out was in 2018 belonging to horrortale/dusttale. but most of them average to around 2015/2016.
what are the swaps beside paps and sans. also i do think they should work on characters that aren't in snowdin but luckily the next character wont be a snowdin character
@guideoftheriver7112 the problem is there is not much to do with the same sans over and over with gaster blasters and bone. Then again didn't stop last corridor from making swap papyrus not just a camper sans. But the issue with lack of different aus is that you can't make movements feel different

SO MANY GAMES suffer from hating their new players. Unless you have a server with all low wins, you need to be technoblade reincarnate to win as pacifist or swap. Having characters that need skill is how you should design games, but making starters either need hours to learn how to play well or just die to high wins will kill your game. This is how UJD was so successful, because of the win servers where things were balanced. Some examples of games that do this (somewhat) well are UT:FJ and UFJ (both stand for undertale final judgement)
It's not about skins and all that crap, I bet most people (me included) left after the April's fools update when the levels were added. Like, grinding for direct dash/health/damage upgrades just so that I can fight buffed Sanses? No thanks.

I feel like the skins COULD work, if they do it the way ULC does it, adding some new attacks to the skins or possibly a entirely new moveset if possible!
For me it was about how grindy it became, 65K gold for spear and another 65K for royal armor was just too much, doing quests wasn't even worth it since some of them were actually difficult to pull, like doing the most dmg or being the last person to land a hit on the sans and kill him

Overall I think UFS has the budget of a toilet which is why the game is currently trash and overall the game should at least give worn dagger a second ability, if the skill tree is a thing then hope it makes worn dagger worth it. Also UFS was overhyped to the ground but it's a good game but was overhyped. But I think the most important reason that killed UFS isn't the lack of content or any of that but because of the win lock, like most players quit the game not realizing that they need to do quests to gain the ability to get more wins so for the next update, UFS should remove the win cap in general since it was one of the major reasons that caused UFS to suffer and lose players overtime, because quests in a SVC can be fun if not forced at the player's throat so removing the important quests and win caps, UFS will get players back. And UFS kinda fell short because they added too much gamepasses.
UFS's big problem is just a lack of content combined with shitty priorities when it comes to adding content. They came out with 10 characters, but 3 of which are in dire need of a rework: Classic (he's boring), Science (no explanation needed), and TS!US (Unhealthy gameplay), so that only totals out to 7 characters with no upgrades or anything to encourage players to play more... this caused everyone to unlock the 7 decent characters in the game, play them, and quit because there was nothing else to do, and it doesnt help that even among the 7 "Good" characters in game there are some more boring/bland ones like fell or Swap Sans which create a lack of replay ability because of how tame they are. (swap is debatable, but you get my point) After everybody left the dev team should've focused on giving new worthwhile content into the game that could attract players for a longer amount of time, instead we got... Stat- oh I mean SKILL trees and skins (Why?). Sure there's 2 new characters but they release them unfinished and honestly... Outer was really rough at the start, which just made it even worse. These mediocre updates with no real substance is what I think is killing the game, though its not like there aren't any other issues. The Chara team is overall boring, souls don't do SHIT you literally should chose them based on whats your favorite color, not their in game effects, Armors are (MOSTLY) background buffs that you can't really toy around with, and weapons are (MOSTLY) boring with them having only 1 skill which is always one dimensional. Last thing ima say, which is pretty unrelated to everything else but... anyone else find it stupid that they're adding all this late game weapon/armor shit? It doesn't matter how cool the end game is if no one wants to get through the early game. I can't be the only one thinking they shoulda focused more on making the early/mid game experience fun.
Hurts my soul too because the Artstyle, Ost and Passion during the initial development was well done. This game truly has the potential to be a decent game but it just doesn't quite get there.
I think a reason why there are almost no players (or atleast my reason) is that they were hyping the game up for too long. what i mean is that they kept showing showcases but didnt release the game. So when the game eventually released, most of the people who watched the showcases probably forgot about the game. this might not be true since the game has 6 million visits tho.
Ralsei's genuine response to criticism like this is "where's your game?" yet this is the best criticism i've seen on UFS. Especially after the 2 probably best devs Yesil and Door quit (This is all I know so far, Im banned in UFS and gladly so.) i dont see UFS being able to make any good updates now unless they pull some good devs out of their ass.

i think the problem of UFS was that it was advertised to be such a high quality game that it came out lackluster when it took a good amount of time to come out.. lots of potential and quality, but underbaked in content which is understandable considering ULC had a multi-year head start compared to the game just releasing a couple of months back, but it was really rough to have all the hype lead into nothing else after so long except for two characters and skins another important factor was the fact that other than the sans team, the gameplay overall wasn't as exciting as the preview videos made it out to be. ULC just has this fun gameplay loop of trying out new characters and working towards upgrades that make your character considerably better, along with the weapons also all being unique and changing up how games may or may not go. with UFS, although it is rewarding to learn the Sanses, it does get very reptitive as nothing really changes the more you play them. Also the fact that the Chara team in UFS is just way more boring than ULCs makes it so you don't have a lot of fun 3/4ths of the time. I think its important to mention that having UFS around was still good overall, as with competition came an increase in overall quality of ULC updates for it to become the gold standard SvC game. as a person who stood behind ULC, I can respect the massive amounts of effort that was put into UFS but it is sad to see it not live up to the hype. I was hoping it could be a nice alternative SvC to ULC where you could swap to one while waiting for the other to update, but with the recent news, who knows how the future will be for UFS.
Bro you make goods points the one I agree is the most slow is the FBS drop with outer Sans they were seriously need to fix that. Fun fact with Xboxes and probably PS4s the FPS drop is so bad even kicks those players.

The new sans is based of an undertale au webcomic called inverted fate, which is a timeline where asriel wins and resets, but messes up, causing him to lose a soul and the 3 main pairings ( toriel and asgore, sans and papyrus , undyne and alphs) to keep their personalities , which causes massive changes. Thats the context

For the missed opportunity section the devs have stated that skins can be characters as I do believe possession sans is a future character on their radar. The skins are basically just kinda model dumps until their moveset are made for some characters

I still dont get why they chose to not only lock new characters behind pointless grind, like the thing where you have to farm a specific item by winning matches in order to get Outer, instead of just straight up letting people enjoy the update? And also, this may just be a personal thing, but I don't think Outer and Inverted fate sans are hype enough to release them with an update focused around them. Imagine how we could've gotten FFTBO, SS Chara, Disbelief, or maybe even the second part of the horror event (which imo would be WAY more hype than outer or inverted fate sans ), but they rather just worked on, and released a not only unfinished, but also boring character like Inverted fate sans. It would maaaybe be alright if they weren't the only new characters featured in the new update, but like, they just had us wait for 2 months for the update, just for the update to be a few skins ( that could've been whole ahh characters like you said ), and inverted fate sans ( which I honestly don't think anybody actually cared for at all )
I tried playing it and it was just so frustrating to a new player that i quit after around 10 matches. The fact that the "beginner friendly" servers are empty doesnt help at all

i remember talking with a UFS dev when they were talking in a random discord server about the different evolutions of dust sans (and i mentioned devastating judgment aka insanitydust) and they said that would be a skin for corridor dust sans also your point about sans team being TOO strong is fair i mean it doesnt even take that much skill to become almost unkillable with swap
I started this game a couple months ago. Mained Underswap sans (cause he’s fun and I’m not a jerk). He’s fun and it feels great getting combos with him! Was sharply disappointed that my favorite version of sans is both pay to use and pay to win. I’m less frustrated with the skins and more frustrated with the balancing issues. Im still a relatively new player so I do the low level lobbies. You think I’d be safe from overpowered sanses there, right? Naw! Inverted Fate Sans shows up about 1/6 of the time and completely trashes the Chara team every time. Call it a skill issue but he is kinda busted with his range and abilities. I haven’t seen a victory against him once yet, I swear. Another issue is that the menu navigation feels slow, which is an issue given you only have a short time to navigate it and make choices before a new match starts.
I just want to put my input on the video for a little clarification but also my thoughts, certain things like Flowey Possessed Sans would likely become a character into the future. The same case for Bonely One although he is not going to be a skin (i mean he literally has a skin already that would probably go to him once he's out). I do agree with updates, they should be more consistent that is something I agree with. Although the skin update was disappointing it did introduce the skin system so they could get it out the way but I do think it shouldn't have just been cosmetics and they should've added a little more content to gameplay. One thing I liked about the update was just the new banner system and Inverted Fate is a little nice ig. I wish the best for UFS and I DON'T think it should die😭but the developers could learn from this experience. (Crossbones rework is going to happen)
Maybe I missed it in the video, but I want to bring up some other things which definitely didn't help the game: One: Constant drama, I shouldn't need to explain but there's plenty of drama revolving ufs. Two: Lack of care regarding characters, this is very easy to explain, look at fell for example, they went out of their way to consider his chains and such but also made the dialogue uncanon referring to things like genocide, if you didn't know, underfell doesn't have genocide, it has betrayal, on top of this outer is a great example as I have yet to see a single outertale fan like that outer is just a jjk character. Three: The game released (and now) is extremely confusing even with the tutorial, hell I don't even remember the tutorial explaining how you even get weapons so like. Four: The game demands you read how the characters work otherwise you need to "fuck around and find out", which doesn't work in ufs because they want to overcomplicate moves and make them do more than you think they'd do, on top of this they overcomplicate the EXPLANATION, literally you can sum up half the moves in one sentence but, nope, they want you to read more to make it sound cooler than it is, point is you need to spend a round to read what the moves do, plus you can't do this in between rounds do to how long the text is so you literally need to skip a round just to read it (or just die first because bad balancing lol) Five: The game is extremely boring, as in every fight feels like, for lack of a better explanation, fighting a maxed out ulc disbelief, you die once and you're stuck waiting there for like five minutes before you can even play the game again and even then you can just die first again, this one isn't even a "skill issue" thing, if the sans IS very skilled then guess what they can stall pretty damn well so skill in this case is literally the issue. Six: Competition, I don't think I gotta explain it but basically with games like ulc existing there's much better options than ufs, you only really pick ufs over any other svc game purely because it has the "best" visuals and even then most of the models just are sans in different clothing, I know it's an au and all but for example Outertale Sans can canonically smug face (aka the :3 thing) so why not make him do that. Seven: The toxicity, although much more minor in the grand scheme of things, poking fun at others is really immature, you really don't need a loading screen to say that ufs is better than ujd, games like ulc also do this except are even worse in that regard as you literally need to see it every three seconds especially with characters like classic but this isn't about ulc, point is, the unnecessary child-like behavior with the game's messages poking fun at others definitely doesn't help it. Eight: The honestly kinda weird things in the game, you cannot deny that sans in harlem is really REALLY fucking weird to add to a kid's game, on top of this they add things like jjk for no reason at all on both teams, they still have things like ale's too far and promised (I can understand too far staying as that's not truly ale's, but promised shouldn't at all), they have odd messages like the jokes about ss chara being a baddie or whatever, it's overall just really uh, how do I put this, discomforting I guess? Everything else you said is VERY valid, by the way, I personally think it's a mix of all these factors, for me, personally, my biggest reason I stopped playing it after a relatively short while is for the balancing and overstimulation, along with me knowing someone who has personally had bad experiences with the devs and community, overall I just didn't like it.

As someone that took the time to get the april fools badge and played the game for a while it's disappointed. Updates are small and looks like they're made in 3 weeks of 4 months, the game got 6k players at the first day, and now usually have +100 less players than ulc. The skin update was trash, basically what they did in the RNG event but now with less sense than before. Such a same this game was hyped asf and now it's very dead.

Although balancing is a good point, i dont think it would be true to say ULC is balanced. The difference is that getting an op in ULC requires somewhat tedious grinding or an event, while UFS requires you to play for about 10 hours or less and thats it. Also the grand majority of the people who played UFS plays ULC, and another point to be made would be that people simply weren't willing to give up the hours upon hours they spent just to get an op character in ULC, but this is because ULC came out way before UFS did, and the UFS team cant really do anything to combat this except hope that they can push out enough content to convince people to leave ULC behind in favor of UFS, which they definally arent doing at the time
One small issue I have with the game is the ragdoll cancel-just, why? It takes two bars of stamina, which is okay, but why does it slow you down, and you can't attack for, like, three seconds? Don't you love getting punished for using an in-game mechanic that's supposed to help you?
i can agree and disagree with some of the opinions as a dev i can see the criticism but i can also disagree with some of the points in the vid (especially with papyrus exe due to the current drama. Also bonely one will be a character dont worry) but in the end not all updates are good and this one wasnt one of our best by a long shot.

Hi! I'm an official UFS dev and I can agree for the most part that the game has a lot of missed opportunities, I myself have no real influence on the games ideas and balancing. Though something I'd like to note is that svc game updates are BOUND to fall as they only get traction for like 3 days and then they go off radar for another 2 months. The same happened with ULC, and the same will happen with UFS.

so fun fact, i used to work on the concept team! i quit awhile ago during the era when laziestbones owned it.
some of the skins such as: Punkfell (made by ant) and Swaptale (made by Brilage) sans were designed by us.
Not only did they give us NO CREDIT, but they were also extremely rude to us. what we made was purely for fun and we received no payment or benefits. which most of us were fine with, Afterall our goal as a concept team was to help the devs by making character concepts and skins to help ease their work load.
The way areoc treated me after i left and while i was there was very poor, not only is he extremely homophobic. he has the tendency to use slurs such as the n word and the gay slur against me.
This game was killing itself from the inside out for a long while, it was only a matter of time before people started noticing.
I hate how the dev team works in ufs, they are lazy and don't appreciate when people do stuff for them.
Brilage and ant both deserve their credit for their work and concepts.

Honestly I think the main reason these issues are so bad is because of how big the pre-release hype train was. If this were a different SvC game that got announced and dropped a few weeks apart it wouldn't be so bad, but we've been waiting literal YEARS for this game and it could never match the hype people had.

Adding my opinion to this cus why not:
I feel like UFS VISUALLY is amazing. The models are really high quality, the skins are quite good, and the effects (though sometimes WAY TOO FLASHY) are really good!
BUT HOLY HELL WE NEED CHARACTERS
Like said in the video some of the skins we got could have been completely separate characters (Possession, Paps.EXE, Time Paradox, Catastrophe Fell, ETC)
That and the balancing for the Sans can be really boiled down to: Actually requiring skill and time or haha LMB + 1 go brrrrrr
The same goes for the weapons/armors. Some of them have really cool concepts that in practice completely fall flat. Atleast with ULC almost every weapon is viable. Hell STICK in ULC is viable for crying outloud. In UFS i never see anyone use any other weapon then Worn Dagger, Toy Knife, Spear, or Empty Revolver. Same with armors. Everybody uses either Apron, Locket, or Royal Armor.

it's pretty much confirmed that UFS is doomed. even the devs are calling the next update the 'funeral update'. such a massive disappointment istg. the devs spent 3 years hyping this game up as the next massive roblox UT game and right now it can't even compete with sans multiversal battles 2 (an already cancelled project) 💀. UFS deserves the fate it got imo, quite a few of the primary developers were massive assholes who bigged up a game that wasn't even out, and look where it got them.
I feel like UFS is fundamentally inferior to ULC due to ULC's progression system. Progression in UFS is extremely TERRIBLE for chara team, Its boring, slow and annoying considering you are playing on chara team way more than as sans. Even though ULC is much less polised the devs work on it faster and more consistently even if quality and balance changes are often questionable they eventually get things right.
Ulc overall is extremely difficult to compete with as its been on roblox for the longest time and manages to keep up with competition and quality of other roblox games.

Honestly the game is just missing content, LOTS of content. For example you could get to 500 wins pretty easily and there is near nothing to do. Without the sans upgrades implemented yet, sometimes i feel like there is nearly no point to play sans other than for fun or discovering what that sans does on your 1-400th win. While i did enjoy the skins and maps most of them being charming it just feels dull fighting them or using them. And i do understand making games takes time with most of these devs being in HS so im not surprised that updates take a while. If they just add more gameplay content rather than cosmetics i see myself playing it alot more.
Inverted Fate sans was the only reason I've came back to UFS due to my absolute love of that au. . . and then i left it to go play ULC again.

The thing I despise about UFS is the lootboxs. I would have much preferred an option to buy crates with GOLD, but the only option is to spend Robux with the chance of getting the same skin again.

Not to mention that I had better chances getting a rare skin from a common crate that was actually good, then an actual rare skin crate. honestly, if they focused on adding more characters, which as you said, could've been done with a LOT of skins, the game could possibly stay alive for the next update if it doesnt take an insane amount of time to release. Another thing that would help the game stay alive is upgrades. It would keep people playing the game and it would make characters way more interesting. I think it's one of the main reasons why ULC has more active players.

UFS really just dug their own grave. They should honestly kind of do their updates kinda like how ULC does, update both teams at the same time. Cause if you update just the chara team, the sans team will suffer from that update. THEN they decide, "Oh why not just add skins that WILL NOT IN ANY TYPE OF WAY AT. ALL help the sans team!!!11! They honestly had so much time to add so much new content to the game after all months they had been out. They honestly killed themself with the updates. I really hope UMSR doesnt fall down this same path. Cause by the look of it, UMSR is already close to this fate aswell. UMSR was a fun game (until they took it down, #bring back UMSR!!!,) and the game play was peak, it was goofy, you could combo, it was good and so were the skins. The characters were also creative bc you had a special ability depending on who you chose. Examples:
Susie had a Tp mechanic like in delta rune where if the enemy gets near you, you rapidly gain tp and tp allowed you to use red buster and ultimate healing with ultimate healing as the name applies, heal the enemy team but a little bit but they take extra damage and red buster is like a ray of red pillars that can semi track players and with sans you can teleport the chara team setting them up for the most gnarly combo to exist or impale someone and bring them right towards you allowing you to also combo them, and with jevil? he really is a speed demon with his feats

I don't think ufs is unbalanced, it's just that the balance is geared mainly towards REALLY experienced players.

I think you're forgetting about outer and dust sans, like with the ragdoll effect and huge dmg of outer tale PLUS reworked domain expansion which made it more op while dust sans flame effects are cancer and last forever,sure you can roll but the game never told ya about being able to do that to get rid of the flame effects
I have an idea for UFS characters, they could make the characters weaker but also make low win and mid win servers and then they could add upgrades, like crossbones freakin having a side kick blaster, or pacifist becoming joking aside where he could use blasters or unlock snowdin by defeating dust sans in a different mode to gain him but not make him cancer to beat.

@@SansINess53 Spear rain was taken from an admin character, the shadow clone was the first look at Perseverance's rework, and the bone throw I haven't seen but believe it's another admin character move. The devs themselves said that they just took a bunch of random stuff from their other characters because they found a good model for dustdust.

but i think you forgot about the potential game kill updates example: resets RESETING EVERYTHING, and you have to do it multiple times to unlock a certain item or gain more lv. A skill tree that just makes it alot harder for newer players "fixed now" and much more.
As a ULC fan, I can say that ULC suffers from a few of the issues you listed. For example, the 20 million visits event is a rerun of the 10 million visits event, thus making it so people who already had the ulc sans skin (which I did) cannot look forward to these events. Not to mention updates have slowed down significantly lately.

Not really, they specifically are rerunning the ULC sans event for retro mode. Which is usable if you have ULC sans thus making the visit events about ULC sans isn't that bad.
Lets also not forget the whole four charas vs one sans which is beyond unfair in games like these, because 99 percent of the time if you don't have a phase 2 your going to lose and even if you do the odds are stacked against you, because theres more of them then there are of you.
expanding on the point of missed opportunities lets look at how unique the main playable cast is . 4 out of 12 characters are some kind of swap. 6 out of 12 battles take place in some sort of snowdin. and also most of the au's are really old he latest au to come out was in 2018 belonging to horrortale/dusttale. but most of them average to around 2015/2016.
what are the swaps beside paps and sans. also i do think they should work on characters that aren't in snowdin but luckily the next character wont be a snowdin character

SO MANY GAMES suffer from hating their new players. Unless you have a server with all low wins, you need to be technoblade reincarnate to win as pacifist or swap. Having characters that need skill is how you should design games, but making starters either need hours to learn how to play well or just die to high wins will kill your game. This is how UJD was so successful, because of the win servers where things were balanced. Some examples of games that do this (somewhat) well are UT:FJ and UFJ (both stand for undertale final judgement)

I feel like the skins COULD work, if they do it the way ULC does it, adding some new attacks to the skins or possibly a entirely new moveset if possible!
For me it was about how grindy it became, 65K gold for spear and another 65K for royal armor was just too much, doing quests wasn't even worth it since some of them were actually difficult to pull, like doing the most dmg or being the last person to land a hit on the sans and kill him

Overall I think UFS has the budget of a toilet which is why the game is currently trash and overall the game should at least give worn dagger a second ability, if the skill tree is a thing then hope it makes worn dagger worth it.
Also UFS was overhyped to the ground but it's a good game but was overhyped.
But I think the most important reason that killed UFS isn't the lack of content or any of that but because of the win lock, like most players quit the game not realizing that they need to do quests to gain the ability to get more wins so for the next update, UFS should remove the win cap in general since it was one of the major reasons that caused UFS to suffer and lose players overtime, because quests in a SVC can be fun if not forced at the player's throat so removing the important quests and win caps, UFS will get players back.
And UFS kinda fell short because they added too much gamepasses.

Funny to think what people legit thinked what ufs was ulc killer. Maybe they would be right, if devs didn't BURNT the game to ashes.
UFS's big problem is just a lack of content combined with shitty priorities when it comes to adding content. They came out with 10 characters, but 3 of which are in dire need of a rework: Classic (he's boring), Science (no explanation needed), and TS!US (Unhealthy gameplay), so that only totals out to 7 characters with no upgrades or anything to encourage players to play more... this caused everyone to unlock the 7 decent characters in the game, play them, and quit because there was nothing else to do, and it doesnt help that even among the 7 "Good" characters in game there are some more boring/bland ones like fell or Swap Sans which create a lack of replay ability because of how tame they are.
(swap is debatable, but you get my point)
After everybody left the dev team should've focused on giving new worthwhile content into the game that could attract players for a longer amount of time, instead we got... Stat- oh I mean SKILL trees and skins (Why?). Sure there's 2 new characters but they release them unfinished and honestly... Outer was really rough at the start, which just made it even worse.
These mediocre updates with no real substance is what I think is killing the game, though its not like there aren't any other issues. The Chara team is overall boring, souls don't do SHIT you literally should chose them based on whats your favorite color, not their in game effects, Armors are (MOSTLY) background buffs that you can't really toy around with, and weapons are (MOSTLY) boring with them having only 1 skill which is always one dimensional.
Last thing ima say, which is pretty unrelated to everything else but... anyone else find it stupid that they're adding all this late game weapon/armor shit? It doesn't matter how cool the end game is if no one wants to get through the early game. I can't be the only one thinking they shoulda focused more on making the early/mid game experience fun.

Hurts my soul too because the Artstyle, Ost and Passion during the initial development was well done.

I think a reason why there are almost no players (or atleast my reason) is that they were hyping the game up for too long. what i mean is that they kept showing showcases but didnt release the game. So when the game eventually released, most of the people who watched the showcases probably forgot about the game. this might not be true since the game has 6 million visits tho.
Ralsei's genuine response to criticism like this is "where's your game?" yet this is the best criticism i've seen on UFS. Especially after the 2 probably best devs Yesil and Door quit (This is all I know so far, Im banned in UFS and gladly so.) i dont see UFS being able to make any good updates now unless they pull some good devs out of their ass.

i think the problem of UFS was that it was advertised to be such a high quality game that it came out lackluster when it took a good amount of time to come out.. lots of potential and quality, but underbaked in content
which is understandable considering ULC had a multi-year head start compared to the game just releasing a couple of months back, but it was really rough to have all the hype lead into nothing else after so long except for two characters and skins
another important factor was the fact that other than the sans team, the gameplay overall wasn't as exciting as the preview videos made it out to be. ULC just has this fun gameplay loop of trying out new characters and working towards upgrades that make your character considerably better, along with the weapons also all being unique and changing up how games may or may not go. with UFS, although it is rewarding to learn the Sanses, it does get very reptitive as nothing really changes the more you play them. Also the fact that the Chara team in UFS is just way more boring than ULCs makes it so you don't have a lot of fun 3/4ths of the time.
I think its important to mention that having UFS around was still good overall, as with competition came an increase in overall quality of ULC updates for it to become the gold standard SvC game. as a person who stood behind ULC, I can respect the massive amounts of effort that was put into UFS but it is sad to see it not live up to the hype. I was hoping it could be a nice alternative SvC to ULC where you could swap to one while waiting for the other to update, but with the recent news, who knows how the future will be for UFS.

The new sans is based of an undertale au webcomic called inverted fate, which is a timeline where asriel wins and resets, but messes up, causing him to lose a soul and the 3 main pairings ( toriel and asgore, sans and papyrus , undyne and alphs) to keep their personalities , which causes massive changes. I still dont get why they chose to not only lock new characters behind pointless grind, like the thing where you have to farm a specific item by winning matches in order to get Outer, instead of just straight up letting people enjoy the update? And also, this may just be a personal thing, but I don't think Outer and Inverted fate sans are hype enough to release them with an update focused around them. Imagine how we could've gotten FFTBO, SS Chara, Disbelief, or maybe even the second part of the horror event (which imo would be WAY more hype than outer or inverted fate sans ), but they rather just worked on, and released a not only unfinished, but also boring character like Inverted fate sans. I started this game a couple months ago. Mained Underswap sans (cause he’s fun and I’m not a jerk). He’s fun and it feels great getting combos with him! Was sharply disappointed that my favorite version of sans is both pay to use and pay to win. I’m less frustrated with the skins and more frustrated with the balancing issues. Im still a relatively new player so I do the low level lobbies. You think I’d be safe from overpowered sanses there, right? Naw! Inverted Fate Sans shows up about 1/6 of the time and completely trashes the Chara team every time. Call it a skill issue but he is kinda busted with his range and abilities. I haven’t seen a victory against him once yet, I swear. Another issue is that the menu navigation feels slow, which is an issue given you only have a short time to navigate it and make choices before a new match starts.
I just want to put my input on the video for a little clarification but also my thoughts, certain things like Flowey Possessed Sans would likely become a character into the future. The same case for Bonely One although he is not going to be a skin (i mean he literally has a skin already that would probably go to him once he's out). I do agree with updates, they should be more consistent that is something I agree with. Although the skin update was disappointing it did introduce the skin system so they could get it out the way but I do think it shouldn't have just been cosmetics and they should've added a little more content to gameplay. One thing I liked about the update was just the new banner system and Inverted Fate is a little nice ig. I wish the best for UFS and I DON'T think it should die😭but the developers could learn from this experience. (Crossbones rework is going to happen)

Maybe I missed it in the video, but I want to bring up some other things which definitely didn't help the game:
One: Constant drama, I shouldn't need to explain but there's plenty of drama revolving ufs.
Two: Lack of care regarding characters, this is very easy to explain, look at fell for example, they went out of their way to consider his chains and such but also made the dialogue uncanon referring to things like genocide, if you didn't know, underfell doesn't have genocide, it has betrayal, on top of this outer is a great example as I have yet to see a single outertale fan like that outer is just a jjk character.
Three: The game released (and now) is extremely confusing even with the tutorial, hell I don't even remember the tutorial explaining how you even get weapons so like.
Four: The game demands you read how the characters work otherwise you need to "fuck around and find out", which doesn't work in ufs because they want to overcomplicate moves and make them do more than you think they'd do, on top of this they overcomplicate the EXPLANATION, literally you can sum up half the moves in one sentence but, nope, they want you to read more to make it sound cooler than it is, point is you need to spend a round to read what the moves do, plus you can't do this in between rounds do to how long the text is so you literally need to skip a round just to read it (or just die first because bad balancing lol)
Five: The game is extremely boring, as in every fight feels like, for lack of a better explanation, fighting a maxed out ulc disbelief, you die once and you're stuck waiting there for like five minutes before you can even play the game again and even then you can just die first again, this one isn't even a "skill issue" thing, if the sans IS very skilled then guess what they can stall pretty damn well so skill in this case is literally the issue.
Six: Competition, I don't think I gotta explain it but basically with games like ulc existing there's much better options than ufs, you only really pick ufs over any other svc game purely because it has the "best" visuals and even then most of the models just are sans in different clothing, I know it's an au and all but for example Outertale Sans can canonically smug face (aka the :3 thing) so why not make him do that.
Seven: The toxicity, although much more minor in the grand scheme of things, poking fun at others is really immature, you really don't need a loading screen to say that ufs is better than ujd, games like ulc also do this except are even worse in that regard as you literally need to see it every three seconds especially with characters like classic but this isn't about ulc, point is, the unnecessary child-like behavior with the game's messages poking fun at others definitely doesn't help it.
Eight: The honestly kinda weird things in the game, you cannot deny that sans in harlem is really REALLY fucking weird to add to a kid's game, on top of this they add things like jjk for no reason at all on both teams, they still have things like ale's too far and promised (I can understand too far staying as that's not truly ale's, but promised shouldn't at all), they have odd messages like the jokes about ss chara being a baddie or whatever, it's overall just really uh, how do I put this, discomforting I guess?
Everything else you said is VERY valid, by the way, I personally think it's a mix of all these factors, for me, personally, my biggest reason I stopped playing it after a relatively short while is for the balancing and overstimulation, along with me knowing someone who has personally had bad experiences with the devs and community, overall I just didn't like it.

I have not played this game for some time and then I came back saw what they cooked with outer and was "wtf is this" now i hear bout the lootboxes and I dont wanna come back.
My biggest problems is stuff you mentioned as ONLY ADDING SKINS
and when they add characters.... Its the same trible blaster, big blaster and something else

however he also has traps, heals, melee, CHEMICALS, EXPLODING BONES, SENTIENT BLASTERS?? also he can CHANGE HIS ATTACKS EACH LOAD, HE HAS THAT MUCH OPPORTUNITY AND YET THEY DON'T DO A SINGLE THING??

the thing that happened was the gameplay being sluggish when the game was in development for 3 years
and the fact that they are just releasing the april fools update instead of working on the game
As someone that took the time to get the april fools badge and played the game for a while it's disappointed.
Updates are small and looks like they're made in 3 weeks of 4 months, the game got 6k players at the first day, and now usually have +100 less players than ulc.
The skin update was trash, basically what they did in the RNG event but now with less sense than before. Such a same this game was hyped asf and now it's very dead.
If they do a Lb sans update like an actually last breath sans and not a skin that shiz might go hard ngl.
Ufs: 2-1 moths for 8 skin and a character. Ulc: 3 months 3 reworks 1-4 remodels 0 skins

More like ULC: 8 months for several different sans reworks and revamps + new/revamped/reworked chara team items

they completly ignored the second part of horrortale event like where tf is it???? i had fun during the release but ufs got boring overtime and i didn knew it would fall of that badly once i forgot about the game so many god damn leaks yet alot of them didn get into the game (epik vid btw)

Hiyo! Gamekiller! I agree alot actually, Like I really don't wanna be rude or offense but honestly the ULC devs take some time but honestly they add wayyyy more content and stuff for their game compared to UFS not to be rude though.
the moment i said "so this is just UJD but with pretty lights?" i got bullied.
Im not surprised that UFS is dying, they were given time to give us characters they were given SO MUCH TIME MAN and it had hyped us so much and just ended up being a flop. The skins should have been just characters if that was so it wouldn't be dead.

Although balancing is a good point, i dont think it would be true to say ULC is balanced. The difference is that getting an op in ULC requires somewhat tedious grinding or an event, while UFS requires you to play for about 10 hours or less and thats it. Also the grand majority of the people who played UFS plays ULC, and another point to be made would be that people simply weren't willing to give up the hours upon hours they spent just to get an op character in ULC, but this is because ULC came out way before UFS did, and the UFS team cant really do anything to combat this except hope that they can push out enough content to convince people to leave ULC behind in favor of UFS, which they definally arent doing at the time

One small issue I have with the game is the ragdoll cancel-just, why? It takes two bars of stamina, which is okay, but why does it slow you down, and you can't attack for, like, three seconds? Don't you love getting punished for using an in-game mechanic that's supposed to help you?
i can agree and disagree with some of the opinions as a dev i can see the criticism but i can also disagree with some of the points in the vid (especially with papyrus exe due to the current drama. Also bonely one will be a character dont worry) but in the end not all updates are good and this one wasnt one of our best by a long shot.
