I Made Undertale but it's 3D. . . This one took a lot longer than I thought it would take. After nearly 10 months I managed to finish remaking the Ruins section from Undertale, including the battles with Toriel, Flowey, Napstablook, and other monsters.

ok, i know this would be a HUGE undertaking, so i absolutely wont fault you At All if you dont, but, just throwing it out there, it would be INCREDIBLE if you did more of the game like this. like, if im ever able to entirely play Undertale in 3d, my life will be complete

I don't think that is really possible because it's remaking the whole game (not even an AU). The only way this could get a pass is if Toby states that it's fine.

@@DeezNuts-uk9bd The plot is boring and weird, the gameplay is horrible, also the community is a bunch of people who would strangle anyone who doesn't like the game because their opinions are "better." The characters are annoying and are basic tropes like the nerd, comedic, the mom, the corrupt robot, the ruler, the warrior, and the music just pisses me off. Don't get me wrong, I love pixel art and 2D games (mainly platformers) but Undertale isn't it, I think it's overrated. Also didn't the creator fake his own death?

For the battle box I think something better to try would be a isometric camera cause things in the corner are easy to see but things in the background are not noticable at times I know the shadows help but more indication would help a ton
This is absolutely amazing, you did so good on this project, no, you've done so good on all of your 2d to 3d projects, and not only you, but everyone else can tell the amount of effort you put into them, and I can guarantee you that it all paid off. I am definitely going to play this later. I can't wait to try it out.

Mostly because it's fine, as this part of the game is present in the original demo, no problems there
But if he did the rest of the game in 3D, it'd be a problem
It isn't toby suing people, it's the people who own the copyright to the songs, toby actively is against suing fan projects, and encourages them.

When I was young my goal in the future was to be and artist. I never knew you use art to make games.
But now after watching videos I built out a new mindset for the future. I also decided to make games because of you. The app I use to make games is Struckd. What I’m trying to say is you inspired me in life.
I've been a huge fan of undertale back since it dropped when i was 13 years old and played it 8 years ago only one time on my old pc that sadly broke down. I watched dozens of lets plays, comic dubs, memes, lore vids, etc.
I know the game down to the most minute line of obscure dialogue. I bought the game again on my switch just a moment ago before finding this video. I'm glad the fandom continues to be wonderful ❤️❤️❤️

Yo you're back! I recommend making the city bigger to establish a larger setting to it and also if you want to make the attacks easier to see then make it do like a zoom fade in to the box when the attack starts and make it so the light can go on the transparent walls too

wow that's a lot of work. the box art style is so cool. its a shame it doesnt always work well for all angles. like the ghost has no eyes on the side. but i appreciate how much work it was done over all. the animations are really good

this is really cool! i had an idea for the doors teleporting you to different parts of the map.
when the new map suddenly appears, it looks really jarring. i think itd be cool if everything that you couldnt see through the door already, faded in from darkness.
The amount of detailing this man put into a project that was loosely 2D, turned into 3D, is so amazing. Toby has to see this.

I have a suggestion for the battle sistem. Instead of the semi top down version where it is hard to see where the attack is gonna be (the shadow doesn't really help), whenever an attack is happening, the player is sent to a black void with the outline of the box where the attack is happening with the enemy standing in the background, also if u want to make it first person( when an attack is happening) u could do that

Really cool video and cool game! The fight system is a bit complicated, one thing i would suggest making attacks in the background darker so you can tell where things are more easily

You'd have to release it as a separate game that requires the other, not a mod, that's impossible, something like Black Mesa for Half Life (I'm fairly certain that's not a mod but I might be wrong)

I once did a Minecraft building project wherein I built models of a bunch of Undertale characters using essentially the same method you did with comparing the different overworld sprite angles, but in Minecraft and with much more tedium. I’m greatly vindicated by the fact that someone else now knows the struggles of modeling Frisk. By far the most difficult character I modeled. It might be the only set of sprites with almost no regard for continuity. Very well done.
Watching this video is kinda like watching my Minecraft builds come to life in a surreal way.

SO cool. I remember your method to make the 3d sprites and its certainly a very ingenious way to save time making the sprites.
The battle attacks with toriel seem like they could move around more in the 3d space, but its still an awesome piece of work this whole thing.

think having the battle box stay 2D but just the enemy area switch to 3D works better in this style as the pellet particles can be hard enough to read on a flat plane already but like hard mode +++ when you also have to consider Z-depth

Could you make 3D version of The Farmer flash game? I use to play years ago. It would be great to see frim first person view. You could add black screen transitions to enter shops.
2nd suggestion Storm the House flash game. It would be cool to see from inside and top of the building. You can add other views too.From opposite side or top or side view like original
