    A 3 sec 0-60 is fast enough for me so saved $40K and bought mS long range. For safety, I drive under 100mph so brakes and handling seem fine to me. There are no plans to race or enter a competition with car. Absolutely love white and upgraded wood interior. However, 11 month wait for my delivery was quite painful.

    • @RepsTheLegend
      @RepsTheLegend 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      the crazy part with that is the LR is just a software limited 0-60 lol it could definitely hit 2.2/2.3 but that would cut to far into plaid sales tbh
      the new LR is beast and only has a tiny 1/4 mile difference (obv due to the locked 0-60) than the pre-refresh S Performance and taycan turbo s and beats both of those cars in their 60-130 numbers it’s a great value for what the previous gen performance models / 100D long ranges used to run.
      just sucks that they upped the price to 95k from its original 80k price

    I often hit 145+ and occasionally 163 with zero braking issues. That's because I let off early and allow the regen to do all the braking. You're right, the brakes on the car is not made for a nearly 5k lbs car that hits crazy speeds so fast. Use better judgement and let off early and you'll have no issues slowing the car down. No brake dust and your brakes will last nearly forever. I rarely have to use my brakes. I only go fast if there's room to make combination passes and then I'm gone. Leave room, never tail gate, pull over and the fools speed into braking situations. Wait for combo pass openings then bam, seeyaaaaa. Of course this is only done if 1)Equipment is safe 2)Conditions are safe 3) No traffic cops(brainwashed wealth transfer infantry low lives)

    @ddb5736 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I do agree the Model S is a bit too expensive... but I disagree with your reasoning about not to get the Model S. Why? Simple, this car is a SEDAN, not a sports car. If you want a real sports car from Tesla, wait for the Roadster to come out and pay an extra $100K on top of the price of the Model S. Should the Model S come with better brakes? Probably, but just face it, why would you go racing with this car knowing it is not meant to be a race car? Might be the fastest acceleration, but that is just part of the “fun” of getting a Tesla. Nothing to do with racing. I currently drive a 2022 Model 3 Performance, it is writhing my budget and I got it because I wanted to have a Model 3 that is fast and fun to drive. Do I plan to race with it? Nope. It has the Track mode, I have never used it and while I might test it for fun, most likely I will never use those functions. If one day my budget allows me to get a Model S, I probably will. Is it worth it? Like you said, probably not, but if I can afford it, why not? To race? Nope, just to have a nice sedan that can accelerate like a spaceship. Just for fun. Cheers

    Upgrading the brakes are fairly easy.
    1. Just upgrade to better(cooler) brake pads (very cheap).
    2. New/larger brake calipers + better brake pads (gives decent results)
    3. New/larger brake discs + brake calipers + brake pads (gives good results)
    Back in the days when ppl knew how to just upgrade those on their cars themself it was a cheap fix. Nowadays I guess few knows how to turn a wrench and needs to turn it in to a shop it might get a bit expensive. But if you know how to do some basic stuff on a car yourself. A Tesla is no different then other cars I have worked on.
    Guess the handling could be adjusted with software if a "racemode" similar to M3P is added that stiffen up the suspension a bit, extra swaybars are very cheap to add also though.

    Everybody has a Plaid these days. It's not really a special car when you see 5 of them every day, and it looks the same as it did a decade ago. Long in the tooth. People buy these, have some fun with them, get bored and sell them. The used car market is flooded with Plaids, which says a lot about their one hit wonder status and lack of special-ness.

    I think the model S is much better than the taycan and I’m a Porsche guy. I love the S design and hatch. Not a fan of the taycan design and don’t like that it has a trunk vs hatch. Love the S minimalistic interior design. It’s a great overall car. For corner carving, that’s where the 911 comes into play. But for every day car, model S wins in my book.

    Personally I feel like the only selling point of this car is the performance. I don't see why else you'd buy a glorified 150k estate sedan. There are cheaper cars with better luxury options and more brand prestige. And there are cheaper cars that perform better all around (when I say all around I mean speed and handling, not just raw acceleration) so tbh I don't see the point of this car aside from it just being a flex for wealthy people. For all that just get a regular S or model 3 or X. Because you're really only paying for the performance and tech. And if you aren't gonna be drag racing or bringing it to the track then buying for the performance is pointless. And if it's just the luxury you want as previously stated there are cheaper cars that have more options. And the cars in it's price range are way more luxurious and have brand prestige. The Plaid is the iPhone of cars. It's just an unnecessary flex that has a single selling point: Camera/crazy acceleration.

I second faster 0-60 time which is great if you're on a racetrack I guess. I can't believe people actually spend so much more money then they have to. I could get close to 3 used model S performance cars for the same price as 1 new Plaid and in 2 years his plaid will be worth less than $100,000 while my model S will still be worth close to $60,000.
