Fact
It’s always important to remember Jacen was not really interested in fighting Jaina, and he was distracted trying to warn his daughter. The duel was extremely circumstantial, and this should be acknowledged more-whenever VS. matches involving Caedus are made.
Iirc doesn’t it also start with her basically surprising him with a lightsaber stab? If so, he’d basically be physically hampered for the majority of the duel, even accounting for his resistance to pain.
@@Orochi2345678 She opened the door, and caught him when he had just disposed of Isolder's body.
He hadn't really recovered from the previous injuries he suffered, and so he spent the last duel continually retreating. He could have killed Jaina, I believe she acknowledges this in her POV, but as said he was trying to warn Allana and Tenel Ka.

Jaina definitely has a wider variety of skills and she scales over Kyp as of FotJ who has his own array of impressive feats.

Oh, I love your explanation for Vaapad. That it wouldn't be as effective on the likes of Dooku compared to Sidious was a headcanon I've had for a while now.
Also considering that mace and dooku have clashed multiple times in the legends version of the clone wars and almost all of them ended in stand still really calls into question the effectiveness of vaapad on every Sith.
@@coggnus9656 sort of. Dooku doesn't really pour his soul into the dark side like bane, exar kun. The dude is always ice cold calm so vaapad wouldn't have anything to work with there.

True no one gives him the credit he so desperately deserves yes he didn’t take down the Jedi order like previous Sith Lords try to do but the way he manipulated things so he could take over the galactic alliance is pretty cool I would count him as one of my favorite Sith lords from the rule of two era
Not only that but Caedus never even reached his peak, at least in the Force. Imagine what he could have done with 5 more years learning how to use the Force and, more importantly, handle the Dark Side. He was a Sith for … what, a little over a year?
Honestly I love the longer length. It gives me something to listen to while doing work and school. Either way keep up the good work.

@Emperor Vowrawn cade being yoda level? Even though he was getting slapped around by vong krayt?
See that "How there character affects ones capabilites." THAT is often ignored and looked down on. I realize in most VS debates people use the idealistic version of the character and just assume this character is 100% all in the fight all ready. Convenietnely leaving out many aspects that can contribute to ones victory or defeat.

Glad I could contribute! I'll be honest, that Vader vs Caedus video did kinda taint Caedus as a character in my eyes since that was my first REAL exposure to him, but I've learned to really like him over the years (especially after discount Caedus-- I MEAN Kylo Ren came to the picture) and your recent video cemented that new view. Can't wait to see how Anakin fares against Jaina!
Hey that's cool if you got to know more about him and appreciate him, that's great. Besides, other SW Versus creators used Caedus since, like Rob Terra, who pitched him against Cade Skywalker and Darth Bane.
Also, comparing Caedus to Crylo is like comparing Dooku to Savage Opress lol

Please tell me Saba will finally get a VS Match again! Also thank you for featuring more NJO characters. I personally enjoyed the NJO Era more than any of the other Eras, and characters like Mara, Corran and Saba are in my top 10. Also, I am not entirely sure but I think there are enough feats to make a match with Leia Solo....!

Here’s a VS recommendation:
Darth Caedus VS Revan Reborn.
Like your current match up they have a lot of similarities but both focus a little more on the mysteries of the force... not to mention it’s hard finding any character that could go Toe to Toe with Revan. Though Caedus might be able to give him a run for his money if not best him...
Could come down to how they view the force itself which was very different even though they both utilized both sides of the coin.
23:24, i would also add to this side of the coin would be Malgus and Malak,
And for the other side of the Coin which Evan called his more Chilling Side , i would also recommend Revan and Plagueis.
In fact these are the side of the coin as i see most dark siders tend to either conduct themselves,

Looking back at the Vader vs Caedus matchup...I'm still torn about who'd actually win. Even more now that with the revamped Caedus analysis. On the one hand, Vader takes the physical and nullifies Caedus's usage of his specialized tools and weapons (Mainly his darts), is equal to if not superior to him in their usage of Telekinesis (as far as the scope of their usage of it.). On the other hand, Caedus has been canonically stated to have possessed a stronger tie to the force than even his grandfather, which makes sense given that he is essentially a combination of What if Anakin didn't require his cybernetic reconstruction as well as a What If Anakin went the route of the Consular paths. He had more of a head start than Vader did on actually refining and getting a better academic understanding of the force rather than coasting on raw talent until a definitive stop-gap was placed in his raw potential by good Ol' Obi Wan. Hmm...Idk, really depends of which version of Jacen (Before losing his hand vs after losing it) is going against which version of Vader (ESB, ROTJ, Pre-TFU, Post-TFU/TFU2)

Though I think still disagree with the impact of losing an arm on Caedus has on his optimal performance levels, I do agree that Caedus (like Wolf) has done really well to adapt and make up for the fact that he is always fighting one handed.
21:48 Oh my. A matchup that is way more hype than Jaina vs Anakin and Malak vs Dooku is here. While Ive been wanting/thinking about Caedus vs Cade (anti-villan vs anti-hero Skywalker. Think Caedus wins but my interest is mostly for thematic reasons) and Talon vs Mara for a while now (as a joke matchup), so seeing this matchup is HYPE. Mara is about to face Cade's pimp hand.
I think it would be awesome if you did another versus with TCW Maul, given that with the release of clone wars season 7 we have so many new feats. Love your channel!

@@samueldimmock694 I'd read a bit of the book, listen to the teacher and skim ahead in the class' book to see if I was understanding what was being said/where the teacher was going, and then returned to the book. And kept half an ear out for anything I needed to hear.
Then it was a case of read one page. Do a page of work. Read one page. Repeat.
You know all those hours where you sort of do work while binging on fanfic, wiki, or a forum? It was the pen and paper version of that.
@@morlath4767 I was never that disciplined, I would just race through the work and then read in the time I had left. Even now, the closest to what you did that I can do is spend an hour working, then an hour not working, repeat, or I just end up not working at all.

Your channel single-handedly got me to regret not being on the expanded universe train these characters are so cool I had a question I think I asked in another video I just don't know which but it was about the whills and becoming one with the force to rephrase it here since the whills are the arbiters of how the force manifests for the individual Force wielder would it stand to reason that a darksider could become one with the force if it's whill was dark maybe this is a wrong headed question or I am not understanding some of the nuances but it seems like that would be cool

I once thought as you did about the Super Conducting Loop.
I knew Mace knew of it before the Sidious duel. I know Vaapad is not the end all but its a method,a tool, a weapon to fight the dark side. You could say depending on its wielder,their knowledge or mastery of the Force and their saber skills Vaapad in the hands of another would produce different outcomes,different results. Depa would have been Mace's heir to Vaapad as well as Caleb Dume being hers if we had somebody with the balls to write it.
Caleb Dume Master of Vaapad...It has a nice ring to it imo.
Just coming back to this a little while after playing Jedi Survivor, where I feel the one handed Star Wars Force Wielders got a new member lol.
Dagan Gera’s case feels weird in that he basically treats fighting as if he still had his other arm, as shown by his Force Hallucinations depicting him just straight up using another arm. It kinda tailored into the whole idea of his character that he can’t let the past die.
I know you’re generally more interested in Legends content, which is fair, but I just felt it an interesting topic. :)

Oh boy that'd be fun, but before a redux on hoth vs bane, i think hoth is a formidable opponent but in terms of power and knowledge in the force I'm more inclined with bane. And for the case of lightsaber skills....itd probably be similar to bane from path of destruction vs luke from dark empire, bane is a skilled warrior but his textbook techniques would start to show more for his opponent and skilled enough they can exploit it, which lord hoth i think he can do that though not as easy as some may think.

@@yrooxrksvi7142 i think with what were given much like with kao cen darach but in novel, there is enough to speculate. However that doesnt mean hed win outright, banes a textbook lightsaber duelist but his execution of technique is solid and can pose a threat and again force abilities. Personally bane does win against hoth but at the same time hoth does have some merit to him.

@@yrooxrksvi7142 Yeah, casting for her has to be a lot more difficult then finding a very fit guy between 25 - 32, since that is when Caedus died at that age. As for my approach ,it is purely baesd upon physical looks.
@@jacknewton4314 Likewise, Ingruber did act as a younger version of Harrison in a movie, besides doing impressions of him, and he has worked with sympathetic villain characters in the form of John Doe/The Joker in Batman TellTale. As for M.E. Winstead, dunno, she kinda has a similar face to Carrie, and she's acted in the role of tough girls many times. And last but not least, she's Ewan McGregor's fiancée lol (joking but still)
4:11 I’m gonna have to disagree with that one. In terms of both story role and character, Kyp Durron is the Mace Windu of his era. I’d say Jaina is more the Obi-Wan Kenobi of her era.
In the Force Unleash 2 DLC what tier would you put that Princess Leia on would she be a standard Jedi or a little higher than standard Jedi?
Just out of curiosity why haven't you guys done Jacen Solo? I've been reading through the njo series and found that he is almost an entirely different combatant. Also along that same line of thought why not use Anakin solo? I haven't been able to find a vs series featuring him at all.
Leia Organa Solo vs Assajj Ventress.( I personally believe leia’s skill with a blade is equal to ROTJ Luke or Quinlan Vos, with the force skill of Obiwan with more raw force power than Luke since she had a more natural connection to the force without any training unlike Luke who needed his training with Obi wan to tap into the force at all. And she is a skilled tactican, armed and unarmed combatant and politican before she even started her Jedi training.) making her roughly a tier 4/3.5 in terms of power and skill because she trains so inconsistently due to her political duties and motherhood and it’s her experience that grows more than her ability over the years.
Legends Ventress should take this. Leia was around the likes of Aayla Secura's level or a little above as a lightsaber duelist. Her power with the Force is considerably greater being a Skywalker and all but tactically speaking Asajj is superior, having gone up against Council-level Jedi at the height of the Clone Wars and contending quite well while Leia didn't have anywhere near that level of experience.
Please please please do peak Corran Horn vs Peak Kyle Katarn. Best matchup ever. I’m shocked you guys haven’t done this yet!

23:45 - Well, I'd put Caedus in between those 2 groups. He was simmilar to Maul in one aspect: he used his pure anger, like you said "burning aspect of the dark side" to survive. He often relied on his pain.
But even when he did get angry he regretted it because he realize that his temper got in the way of his victories in certain battles so like Evan said he was more chill with the Darkside
Are you excited for the republishing with new covers of, Heir to the empire, Shatterpoint, and path of destruction? I think it could be really good for the EU and hints of things to come. Also have you ever considered creating a discord for fans? I think it could be awesome!!

@Darth_ Madara Unfortunately, no. Kylo is simply too inconsistent and would otherwise get shitstomped by a mjaority of force wielders and rey is a overpowered inconsistent mary sue with no natural growth in power. The only type of videos they could be used for is post mortem analysis, and in this case, kylo only fits. Rey is too inconsistent and too overpowered to be even taken seriously or otherwise.
Plus, the sequel trilogy only features two force wielders, which is why nobody likes the sequel trilogy. But that's besides the point

@@lapplandkun9273 I think Rey could still be used but she'd still get stomped. Regarding her lightsaber skills and martial arts, she's basic as hell. Her powers aren't really overpowered but seem so considering the feats we've seen even in the films.
She has basic Force powers. Mind trick. Jump. Push. Pull.
The out of ordinary powers she has is heal and lightning but she can't summon lightning on command. Plus she can easily be angered. As much as the writers attempted to make her the most powerful and articles exclaiming the same, they're just regurgitating bull. The books may give more context but even then she's not like Katarn, Caedus, or even Ben Skywalker.

Been a while but coming back and hearing this, I just thought of something. Vaapad did work well against Sidious however, it didn't work as well against Darth Tyrannus which supports the flaming dark side versus the chilling dark side.

I personally view Mara Jade as being roughly on par with someone like Kiadi Mundi, Katarn as Plo Koon, Jains as Mace and Luke as yoda. ( though I’d argue that Jains has Maced skill with a blade and Plos position on the council while Katarn has maces position on the council an Plos skill with a blade.)
I like the revisiting of the Caedus vs Vader topic. I agree that given Vader's loss of living tissue Caedus would hold the advantage in the force, and I do think that Caedus could win by leveraging his use of lightning.
With that said. Vader is a notably superior duelist to Caedus in my opinion. Caedus is clearly top tier, but I see him being top tier in the way Yoda is top Tier and not Vader. Vader is top tier in the way Exar Kun is top tier as a duelist, greater versatility, complexity, creativity, and experience.

The more I learn about NJO Jedi, the more I begun to realize that Obi-Wan is so pathetically weak compare to NJO Jedi.
I compare Obi-Wan to Batman when it comes to comparative power levels between top tier NJO jedi and Justice League where both are very strong and capable in their own rights but are hopelessly outmatch when compare to its peers.
If Obi-Wan were to be dropped into NJO timeline in his RoTS version, the only way he can shine through is his complete Sorusu mastery, sarcastic wits, unwavering loyalty to the Jedi and its code and the best of all, THE HIGH GROUND.

Mace Windu is one of the only dead star wars characters I have ever actually wanted to come back in the sequel movies (this was before they came out obviously, when there were rumors of a certain dead character coming back). Samuel Jackson + Purple Lightsaber + fighting style/attitude = one of the GOATS. He's actually one of the Jedi I actually like. (favorites are Jacen, Obi wan, yoda, mace, and Revan)

@@ancientone2926 see I think most people would assume Durge wins because of his regeneration and weapons, but I think Nyax is one of the only people who could actually stomp all over Durge. I think it would be entertaining honestly, I get why you say it's dumb but I obviously think otherwise.

@@ancientone2926 dude... Early NJO Luke believed the best strategy was to bury Nyax, and then this MF escaped and DISAPPEARED. If Legends were to have continued to the point where he came back or his story came out, don't you think he'd have trained to be even stronger than all the NJO combined? Even if he never reached that level he got defeated and knew they had potential to be better, so why wouldn't he try to get stronger?

@@maddogsgaming7567 But it just doesn't work, because of the massive gap in power scale. Dooku and Grievous can maybe manage against Traya and Sion, but Nihilus is just too much. A more fair matchup would be the Sith Triumvirate vs Sidious, Vader and maybe Plagueis.

While I see dooku and Kyle in the same tier I do believe dooku is above him in his force abilities and about equal to slightly above in lightsaber ability, I know I might be wrong but that’s my opinion

Luke also went into the duel with Caedus not 100%. He had that wound that Caedus took advantage of twice. Was it huge? No but increased the advantage Caedus has circumstantially. A full 100% GM Luke would beat Caedus even more definitively.
Would you consider putting Sidious and Caedus in a match up? Caedus would most likely win, but still, interesting how the two would match up against each other.

You should do a character's Legends to Canon comparison differences and you know stuff like that how their story originally ended to what it is now

Well, the sequel trilogy is shit. Rey is an overpowered mary sue with no natural growthand Kylo is so far radically inconsistent that he may as well get stomped by a majority of force wielders

@@yrooxrksvi7142 exactly. Plus I saw that too and I'm happy that Rob painted a better picture for nihilus skills as alot of people I know called him weak in that department. While its understandable cause of how he is in game, I dont think that's completely true and more inclined to go with what Rob said about him.
