I like this implied Obi-wan regrew the mullet and immediately cut it off again in very short time frame.
It's nice to see AOTC Obi-Wan again

This show has such a beautiful depressing tone about it. It's like you can feel the weight of the fall of the Republic and birth of the empire in every scene
That's exactly why I couldn't watch clone wars, I got through the first season but it's just depressing knowing no matter what anyone does and whatever successes, there will not be a happy ending. Seeing everyone happy and alive just makes it more sad

Yesss! Caleb seems so adorable as a kid, his overexcitement and admiration when he watched a good warrior in action was always visible on his face. It's noticeable even in Bad Batch, though he tried so badly to hide it and act firm 😅

OK because actual people do that. Have you ever tried on different clothing, somethings you kept some things you didn't? OK because actual people do that. If your going to complain about things that are actually acceptable then stop watching Disney Plus, delete your TH-cam and never watch Star Wars again or buy anything that has Star Wars on it because the way people like you complain make it seem like your not even a fan so why bother. its not about the haircut its the fact that he ditched the mullet way before Ahsoka was introduced. Smh idk why they miss these little details.

I can tell this was during the Clone Wars in season 3 before they looked like they changed, before Ahsoka had her 2nd lightsaber and Anakin and Obi Wan took off their armor.

@@jgabs12studios74 it prolly takes place early in the clone wars show they just retconned Ahsokas outfit because it was a little skimpy probably, and also Obi-Wan’s hair because filoni like that style. So if u go back and watch the clone wars u just have to picture young ahsoka in this outfit until it changes, and Obi-Wan with his mullet ig it’s up to u to decide when he gets his hair cut
Obi Wan has this armor and short hair when they first meet Ahsoka. The timeline on this one is very confusing.

I believe this takes place during the time gap before season 3 episode 10. Obi Wan had time to grow out his hair and cut it again before it ends.

I guess the artstyle is a little different, Obi Wan has a mullet and Ahsoka has a different outfit.
The art style is literally the same as TCW season 7 and TBB. They’ve just retconned His hair to the hair he had during episode 2 and Ahsokas outfit was most likely changed due to how skimpy it was in the early seasons of TCW.

And Anakin’s robe aren’t as flared out around the waist, and it’s bothering me for some reason.

I'm guessing they're just retconning obi-wan's hair in the early clone wars; I think that's fair enough, given that they couldn't really animate hair at all in the first couple of clone wars seasons, which should have been shortly after episode 2. Or obi-wan just grew his hair out again in one of the time jumps within the clone wars, which would be a little weird but could also explain it.
I think the main question is whether Ahsoka just has 2 different outfits, and this takes place very early in the clone wars (it doesn't have to be a retcon; people can wear more than one thing) or instead, maybe this is taking place within the season 3 time jump where we already know Ahsoka changes her outfit and gets her second lightsaber.
The initial part of this episode definitely has to take place within seasons 1, 2, and 3 of the clone wars for multiple reasons. But I think you could speculatively say that it has to be in the later end of this range. The clones call Ahsoka "commander", which I don't think they do at the start of season 1, and I think Ahsoka looks older than in the early clone wars. But also, in "lightsaber lost", it seems like Ahsoka has never met (or at least never been introduced to) Terra Sinube, but here it seems like she must have been, if he's standing right there. So I would guess that this takes place after "lightsaber lost". Maybe I'm missing something obvious, but I think it fits most naturally within the season 3 time jump where there's time and reason for the slight cosmetic changes.
obiwan still had the mullet during the early weeks of the war from novel brotherhood
So this takes place in season 2 but they have just given obi wan a mullet
It's just a different art style, nothing is really retconned
@@timewellspent8137 indeed. I always felt that obi-wan and anakin in TCW looked too close to their RotS looks for the events that take place much closer to AotC. It's probably partly the earlier animation, partly that it came out in 2008 (so RotS would be the more familiar look), and partly just the artistic choice. I think I prefer this new look for those two, whether it's meant to be season 1, 2 or early season 3.
They changed the animation style slightly. Somebody in the comments already pointed that out. Besides updated graphics (Anakin’s hair now flows in the wind versus just laying flat all the time), and Asohka’s clothing to respect her age, everything is canon.

One thing I wished was in this episode was for Ahsoka to say this challenge wasn't possible and then Anakin responding by doing the challenge perfectly
I smiled when I saw Caleb. I want episodes with him now. Like how the Ghost crew was formed or him training Ezra or him and has master.
I'd love to see that. I hope they touch on it in the Bad Batch season 3. At least show us how Kanan and Hera met. Assuming they met as kids

Lol I love how when obi wan said she's a fast learner Anakin reply is he wouldn't really know. That's because for those who read the novels that George made he described Anakin on the battle field as a blue blur. When you read how the clone reports are and let's not forget the other jedi's report they described him as that because while he was fighting he used to always have the force around him 💯💥👌🏻
They said same things about Ahsoka in novels as well. That she’s a golden ballerina of the force and that she’s a lethal child.
Anakin just has high standards for her but you have to remember that in TCW, he admits that Ahsoka is so skilled that he forgets how young she is. It means that Ahsoka’s abilities impress even someone like Skywalker. She’s able to keep up with him throughout all of TCW after all.
I love this outfit for young ahsoka way more than the tube top. It looked so silly

Nice to see Anakin with armor closely resembling his comic/Battlefront 2 appearance. It’s such a small detail, but it’s not lost on me. Obi-Wan even has new shoulder pads.

This just doesn't feel the same with all those masters in the room after hearing Obi-Wan tell Luke about his father's teenage apprentice.
It's so weird seeing Obi-Wan with his AOTC hair during this period, but it was nice, he should've had his ROTS hair like in the rest of TCW, but I hope to see more AOTC Obi-Wan (and possibly Anakin) in TCW Artstyle

3 Council Members, 1 Jedi Master, 1 Jedi Padawan, her master, and even the Grandmaster is watching her train. Why is that?
Because Ashoka is a problem they knew from the jump she was a bad ass
For real, you'd think these people have better things to do in the middle of a war.
Because she isn’t training, it’s a test. They examining her. Also it’s stated that yoda and Windu rarely left coruscant during the war, they played more of an administrative role.
This was the best episode simple but powerful. Although yes it would have been nice to see anakin do it for a minute but nonetheless it was just good to see Anakin and Obi wan again

Bro Obi-Wan’s AOTC haircut has finally been animated
For those who aren't aware, The reason Obi wan has a mullet is due to them not having the budget to give him one back in 2008. Canonically Obi Wan had his Mullet throughout Seasons 1-2, Reasons why they need to give us a Clone Wars season 0/Introduction to Grievous, Assaj, Rex and Anakins Knighting and a remaster of the first two seasons
I think it's just something they didn't think about at the time and added in years later. I doubt making his hair slightly longer would effect the budget or animation that much lol Not when Ahsoka's head horn-things were already rigid and barely moved around at all until season 3.

im guessing that the redesigns are kinda like “retcons” to how these characters would look like if they remastered the first two and a half seasons of The Clone Wars.
Honestly, its definitely a major glowup. Watching the earlier clone wars episodes, the weird proportions and designs of specifically Obi-Wan, Anakin, and Ahsoka were hard to look at.

It’s just because they couldn’t animate it properly back then. Hair was shit to do for them. Anakins hair back then was also stiff too, it now flows in later animations so when they did this they knew they could give Obi the glorious mullet and have it look good. It’s just an animation thing.
Nothing indicates Ahsoka is his pasawan here. This before the Clone Wars movie.

Boy, this scene really gets wild when you put it into Original Trilogy perspectives. Darth Vader, Ben Kenobi, and Yoda are sitting on a bench together at Jedi school watching Darth Vader's student showcase her moves.
I really hope they remaster the original first season of TCW with this animation (on top of some new stories/scenes like this now that they have a much larger cast/assets).

Likely a bit of a retcon to improve the transition between Attack of the Clones and Clone Wars. Technically the Clone Wars movie would have taken place shortly after the battle of Geonosis, that's why Anakin's hair is shorter here as well. I assume if the movie or season one released today, this would be the looks they were going for.
