Tess Cooks 4u that’s about the amount I added. It is definitely better that I didn’t sauté onion/green pepper. I had read when adding raw the veggies emanate moisture which is what was need the last time I made this. A winner.

I just made this after trying dozens of recipes for meatloaf. I followed it exactly and it turned out perfect! The house started smelling good before the first 30 minute segment was done. This is absolutely the best meatloaf I have ever had.
FYI Tess:I have made this numerous times since your initial post. I have been making good meatloaf recipes for 50 yrs but NOW a great recipe. I sent this to a friend in Austin and she made last night and said this recipe in her permanent repertoire. Only thing I change is I use garlic salt in lieu of regular. Everything else is per Tess. Thank you!!!
This meat loaf is absolutely delicious. I did add onion powder and some garlic powder, I didn't have milk, so I used some half and half, also I used whole grain Ritz crackers. This is definitely going into my rotation!!! Thank you so much for sharing ❤️
I’ve made this many times now and everyone loves it. The only thing I do different is sauté the peppers and onions a little bit first and use half n half instead of milk.
We love meatloaf! We especially love this meatloaf we made it following the recipe exactly and it was delicious. To much for 2 people so we froze 1/2 of the loaf and with the leftovers made pan fried meatloaf sandwiches the next day also delicious. This recipe is a definite keeper, thanks a million.
When I first made this 5 years ago I sautéed pepper/onion mixture. NO!!! Make just like Tess. The BEST. Only this recipe after 50-60 years of others. Never go back! ❤
We love the meatloaf from Cracker Barrel, ever since we made this dish at home, we haven't been back. t's easy to make and you can feed 4 or 5 people with this size meatloaf. Just made some last night and it was good.
This is my 2nd time making this meatloaf and it is still a hit for me. I made a few modifications, but just to my taste, but overall this is still an excellent recipe - thanks for sharing!!!
My grandfather would saute carrot, onion, celery and garlic. He would put the veg's in the freezer to cook off. He would add them to the ground beef. He the would add bread crumbs with garlic powder, onion powder and a ramen beef seasoning powder packet. Then he would add marinara sauce with two whipped eggs. If it got to wet, he would add more bread crumbs. For the sauce. He would use ketchup, brown sugar and tomato paste to round out the flavours. Best meatloaf I ever had
I made it with ground turkey 1 lb, ground turkey with chorizo 2 lbs, ground beef 10 lbs. I crushed barbeque pork rinds, ketchup mixed with egg and cheese added to 13 lb meatloaf.
I've tried 1/4 cup Welch's grape jelly to make a sweet savory meatloaf .. people say it's soooooo good and when I tell them what's in it they go wow never would have thought if it
My moms meatloaf recipe is just like this but instead of milk she uses small can of tomato sauce. It’s the best! I’m gonna try it with milk to see the difference
I made this and it’s sooo good!! It was gone in seriously no time. It took me quite a bit longer than an hour to bake, like twice as long actually. Maybe u cut yours in half? I’m not sure but it was super good. Thank you for the recipe!!
I usually don’t have a request cause I can’t everything anything that I might wanna do but this is giving me an ideal my son used to work at Cracker Barrel and one day I was there and he said mom you know you love soups do you want to try their meatloaf soup and I was like what they would take their leftover meatloaf and make a soup it was the best soup I have ever had one of the best but I can’t see or figure out anyone that’s made it they only make them when they have leftover meatloaf if you can figure it out or get the recipe that would be awesome
Today we are having homemade chicken and rice soup, along with toasted bacon, tomato, lettuce, cheese and mayo sammies. But hubby wanted to know what is for dinner Sunday, so I took out a couple pounds of ground beef and I think meatloaf is on the menu with corn on the cob.
Yummy yummy I definitely try it👍Tess have a question how do you get that recipe from the copycat or other recipes for that matter. Thanks Tess yr awesome🍷💋
When you say a 85/15 , does that mean 15% fat content? The highest fat content we have in my country is 14% . It’s hard to get, as the most used ground beef are usually 7 or 4 % . Is it ok to use leaner meat?
Please help me out. I’ve looked everywhere for a copycat recipe for the Burger King Satisfries. They were the best tasting fries I’ve ever had. I believe they were lightly coated to prevent the absorption of cooking oil. Would very much appreciate your help coming up with a recipe for these awesome fries. Thanks in advance. Bltoth
any feedback as to which is the better or I should say more authentic cheese to use? The recipe calls for sharp cheddar or colby. Which one does cracker barrel use?
Tess, I came, I watched, I fell in Luv. Ah woman who knows how to cook, kind of ah rarity in city folk, now days. Mostly fast food, and over priced dining. I cook myself, at home, often, can't wait to try this one. Please get those cheese-taters (Cracker Barrel Cass) up quickly, ya got my mouth watering. I let's roll, bring on the good stuff, sick of FF 👍
Yep, the best meatloaf! This is a great recipe. Give it a try.
Tess Cooks 4u that’s about the amount I added. It is definitely better that I didn’t sauté onion/green pepper. I had read when adding raw the veggies emanate moisture which is what was need the last time I made this. A winner.
It's become a family favorite! 👍😋
It’s my 6th time making it
"There was no leftovers for midnight meatloaf sandwiches" 🤣🤣🤣

i added thyme and used bbq sauce and it's my new fave, thank you
I’ve made this many times now and everyone loves it. The only thing I do different is sauté the peppers and onions a little bit first and use half n half instead of milk.
At one time I sautéed onions/peppers but no more. Did that ONCE. Now I use exactly like Tess!!!❤ oh. I’ve been making for 5 years now!!!!
That’s pretty well replicating is what I I salt did. (Sauté) now I just replicate. yum. You won’t regret.
I have seen replications that astonish me. LIKE. 1 tsp. Basil and oregano!!! Different animal!!!
Absolutely the BEST meatloaf I’ve ever cooked!
I made this for dinner & it's is the best meatloaf I ever tasted! 👍thank you for your delicious recipes.
It is good! Luv it! Thanks for watching and sharing.
Mix everything together and let it sit in the fridge overnight. Cook it the next day. It'll turn out even better.

Great advice. Thank you!!!!
But I need it for tonight 😀
We love meatloaf! We especially love this meatloaf we made it following the recipe exactly and it was delicious. Sounds great!
Passed on the bell peppers and used molasses instead of brown sugar. Not sure it made a huge difference. Awesome!~ Thanks
When I first made this 5 years ago I sautéed pepper/onion mixture. NO!!! Make just like Tess. The BEST. Only this recipe after 50-60 years of others. Never go back! ❤

Had my doubts about the crackers, but it came out great! Thank you, Tess
I made it with ground turkey 1 lb, ground turkey with chorizo 2 lbs, ground beef 10 lbs. I crushed barbeque pork rinds, ketchup mixed with egg and cheese added to 13 lb meatloaf.

The meatloaf and hash brown casserole were both a hit.
I've tried 1/4 cup Welch's grape jelly to make a sweet savory meatloaf .. people say it's soooooo good and when I tell them what's in it they go wow never would have thought if it

Tess, I made your CB Meatloaf for dinner tonight. And it was delicious. Thank you
Thank so much🍽️
You had me at 'meatloaf'! Adding cheese is a great idea. I would love this, cold, in a sandwich. Looks so good! (:
You are first Steff! Thanks so much. Yea, it was an awesome meatloaf. I will have to make another loaf just for sandwiches.
Tess Cooks 4u 😀
That certainly looks good. Wish I had a bite
Thanks Lyle. Yea it really surprised me how good it turned out. Take care.
No Cracker Barrel here in Hawaii so I’ve never eaten it! Will have to try your version.
Thanks for the new inspiration.
Looks delicious
I will try this love it....
Love cracker Barrel
LOOK SOW YUMMY
Looks yummy
Looks delish!!
I think green pepper essential for meat loaf. However I sauté slightly to remove some of the bite. I can’t wait to try this.
Thanks Susan, if you dice finely the pepper and onions cook all the way through and kind of "blend in".. The meatloaf turns out great.
Tess Cooks 4u I think cooking the peppers removes the bite. It’s important to make it better
Great directions not overly wordy
Thank you. I love meatloaf! I will try this.
Thanks so much. Have a wonderful weekend.
Wow this looks amazing! Tfs!
Thanks so much.
Made it tonight...delicious! Thank you Tess!

This is a meatloaf video.
That looks Amazing Tess ! ❤️🇨🇦
I made half recipe for myself tonight, since I am a single person. It tasted excellent.
Yummy yummy I definitely try it👍Tess have a question how do you get that recipe from the copycat or other recipes for that matter. Thanks Tess yr awesome🍷💋
Cook those green bell peppers first. Makes it perfect
When you say a 85/15 , does that mean 15% fat content?
The highest fat content we have in my country is 14% . It’s hard to get, as the most used ground beef are usually 7 or 4 % . Is it ok to use leaner meat?
Yes, you can use a leaner meat. Thanks for watching.

That meatloaf looks good
Liked and subbed.
First time Ive ever seen or heard of addi g cheese into meatloaf. I wont be adding the cheese. Hope ots good. Thank you!
any feedback as to which is the better or I should say more authentic cheese to use? The recipe calls for sharp cheddar or colby. Which one does cracker barrel use?
Mine is coming out very watery with this recipe. I am following everything to a "t". Any advice?
Never had that happen. Maybe add more crackers. Thanks for watching.
❤❤
Everything I’ve made from your channel has always been a hit even if I screw up a little
Thanks
Welcome
That meatloaf looks amazing.
Thanks Dwayne. Always nice to see you.
can this recipe be made with only ONE pound of ground beef instead of two?
i made it using only one pound. But then you have to HALF the other ingredients as well.
Math is not your friend
Tess it just KILLS me seeing a few alterations to your recipe. How about…..herbs!! No and they add 1 tsp. Each of oregano AND basil.
No no no no no!!
