Tip:Take old actuator with you to autoparts shop to be sure the bolt holes line up.The autoparts guy said there were several different ones for 2008 taurus and taurus x.I had to make 2 trips but got what I needed. Also thanks for this helpful video sir.
On my 2008 Ford Taurus LTD there is a 3rd blend door actuator behind the glove box and to the left. It is extremely hard to get to because of the hoses and wires, but doable.
I have the same car 3.5l sable. no heat concern. I shot the heater core hoses the temp in 120 out 77 but the actuator in the car is clicking. Could that be the cause of no heat? maybe the mixing door or should i have at least a 10 degree diff in and out at all times?Great video.

Do I have to replace both of them?
