Great video. Just painted, put clear coat on my vehicle and saw dust landed on it and dried. Now I know what to do to solve this problem. Thanks

Hi there, great skill to watch. Thanks. I've got a de-nibbing question. I work at home and do the best I can to clean before painting and keep the garage as dust free as possible. Of course, I often end up with a lot of nibs across my clearcoat. Usually I denib more or less one at a time, but sometimes there's too many for that to be practical. I'm wondering what your best approach would be. I have hand papers up to p7000; I have 1,2 and 3000 soft back disks, and dry paper disks up to 10k. What approach would you recommend. Hand sand all spots? Rotary or DA sand? what grit progression. I really want to avoid re-flowcoating. BTW I use 1K Acrylic Lacquer all the way (it's much more convenient for a home system) so it's relatively soft for up to 30 days compared to 2K. Thanks in advance.

Thanks. Hoping I can remove some clear coat marks from my kart racing body that I painted my self from a spray can. The clear left marks all over the body. I am not happy with it. Love the color though. The body is fiberglass.

If you accidentally sand through the clear coat to the base coat can you just lay on another coat of clear and melt the surrounding area with the previous clear using a blending spray...or do you have to start all over and lay a base coat first? In either case, can you just prep with 2000 grit over the area to be painted or do you need to go all the way down to 600/800 to ensure proper adhesion?

Start all over. You can put lipstick on a pig, but it's still a pig. 42 years in the business.

Hey Jimmo! Need your advice. Im a DIY'er fixing to shoot BASF RM Diamont base on my project car in the garage. I'm using a Devilbiss Tekna Prolite. My gun came with a 1.3 & 1.4 tip along with a TE10 and TE20 air cap. What aircap and tip do you use when you shoot BASF base (not waterborne) and/ or clear, as well as recommended psi for that gun?? Im from Texas if this will help me get a reply lol Thanks for making great vids to help those that are just starting out. God Bless

Nice vid. you should experience with the 5000 works so good. I didn't thank it would do anything but it helps a lot. At school last year when the 3m guys came in and we got are mask fitted they told use about the 5000 grit that will come out. Now this year they said they are coming out with a buffing system that only has one pad one polish and the polish has no grit in it. Its not out yet but soon are class gets to see it being used. Hard to believe that it will work.
