Thank you for watching, Fred! And thank you for asking questions! T’Prin changed her hair to look less Vulcan as an act of defiance against the Vulcan male to whom she was betrothed as a child, and to Vulcan culture in general.
Great episode! Although I saw someone comment in the life stream about the depiction of a Vulcan in T'Prin, I also remember T'Pol also losing control of her emotions during the latter part of Enterprise due to some effect the events of an episode had on her (I forget which). So I don't think of it as a stretch. Also consider that some Vulcans are more emotional than others - after all, the Romulan Empire was _born_ from such a split away from their emotional beliefs. It makes sense, even in the lore; it only means that she would become completely disowned by her family and culture - and that's fair. Also, great production values! It keeps getting better and better. A recommendation I have is to get better microphones for your lines, even if it means re-dubbing them. I noticed a noticeable hiss between the spoken dialogue. Perhaps renting a sound booth (or even renting out an audiologist's office during a weekend), and recording your lines separately could also help. But again, these are minor quibbles; I'm loving your work so far!
T'prin îs in the process of rejecting Vulcan society, that's why she was showing emotion. With regard to the audio, we had a pretty top dollar boom mic just out of frame, and did in fact re dub (ADR) several lines in an audio booth. Not sure what you are referring to as I'm not hearing a hiss in the dialogue on our end. There are about 6-8 tracks of added in background ambiance that are specific to Star Trek. You may be hearing that and thinking it's hiss or humm. But all but a couple of lines in production audio came out clean.

Outstanding episode. The Avalon productions are as good as anything out there. I greatly enjoy the chemistry between Williams and T’Prin-- they really feel like they have a friendship growing. And the wig symbolism, theft was actually brilliant. Also enjoyed the chemistry for Allenby and her father, and her captain’s interesting sense of humor. My favorite chemistry is for Tyler and the Victorias. Derek really feels like he is besties with Amanda and good friends with
With Jamie (and Lance, Josh’s Commodore, and Erik (despite never having scenes together)). Fabulous usage of the sets and highest level effects. They look like you are using ILM. Samuel is great. Only real flaw is that Erik doesn’t have enough face to face time with Derek. But that’s, you know, reasons. Wish I owned CBS, I’d love to make your series fully official (especially Derek, Ananda, and Jamie). I’m really looking forward to seeing the other ships coming up, seeing how Derek fits in on that ship, and finding out what’s up with Amanda. One comment, since you’ll have six or seven ships from different AU, I hope you can get us scorecards so we know what characters are in the various ships and who the counterparts are. Thank you very much for all of your hard and most excellent work!!!!
Hi Gordon! I wanted to respond and thank you for these very kind words. So often a filmmaker creates something and has no idea if it will resonate with people. I'm very glad it did with you. In regard to some of your questions, everything will come together in the end, with the characters. Eric tends to not have direct screen time with other characters because Vance films his parts at home and sends it in to us. That will change in the next film. The Lance Ramirez character has one film left with us, that will be coming soon. While Derek and Jamie have an interesting future together where they will eventually team up with Mikaela Allenby and Jakande, I'm not sure if we will learn Amanda's fate, or ever see her again unless the part is recast. It's not something I'm open to doing. So I just haven't thought about it. And I wanted to leave the door open for Victoria to make her own film to explore the character's path.
"Well, I took Vulcan in high school, passed with a D... and I think I just got married." LMAO!! Poor Mikaela had a lot to handle on her first day in charge. But Jekande let her handle it, and I think she did a great job. Our new Cmdr. Allenby hit it out of the airlock, and I can't wait to see more of her. She's captured the quirkiness Pixi first brought to the role and has already made it her own. And of course, I loved seeing Tyler as a Vulcan! I only have one question... Why did T'Prin have a wig on at the start but change to the actress' natural hair for the fight scene and ending?
Hi Christina! Glad you enjoyed it. There are two answers to your question. The in film explanation, and the real one. So, 1. T’Prin was rejecting Vulcan society, and changed her appearance to reflect her own identity. 2. (The real reason) I hated the Wig.
@@joshuairwin2016 Admittedly, the wig looked pretty bad. Like it didn't fit right or wasn't smooth enough. ;) And I get why you used it, with her changing her hair as a symbolic gesture, but I've never really cared for the concept that all Vulcans (and in the same vein, all Romulans) had the same hairstyle.

Don't get me wrong. I love me some "Ghost ship" I've watched it about five times
But you can objectively see how far everything has come since. The writing, production value, music, acting. This could go right on a TV screen and match or beat any Yrek out there
Excellent video! I hope you guys make more. Love the ships!
Enjoyable to watch and good humour look forward to the show.
Just watched the episode again and the show was just as good as the first time. I think the crew that you have would work wonderfully together. Keep up the great work everyone.
An episode from the original StarTrek series acted to perfection and current relevance.
Enjoyed the show.
Had hoped to see Pixi reprise her role but her replacement done a great job. Have been binge watching, awesome really well done Trek
Thank you so much for your kind words.
Honestly, no one was more disappointed that things didn't work out with Pixi than I was. But I hope she's doing well. Alex really stepped up and made a big commitment to help us finish the story. And we are very grateful.
@@joshuairwin2016 you all have done great work, i'm late to the party but glad i stumbled across Avalon universe. You put alot into it so thank you, awesome!!
cannot wait to see Tayler in the nex vidoe! he is HOTTT!!!
Well, Derek Mason ISs a seengal mayun…
Not sure how your name is pronounced there... But thanks for watching our film!
Good job team. Best wishes moving forward.
Thank you Jon! 🙏
Great Film!
Really enjoyed that! Very well done. 😁👏👏👏
Excellent
Thank you Joseph!
Well done.
Thank you Angie!
Thank you for watching! More to come…
Truly, Thank you for watching and supporting us!
Great work, Josh-- to you and everyone involved. Congrats, brother!
I want to be stationed on that Starship! Plus the captain is pretty cool
WoW! excellent work👏 well done to all 👍
Thank you for your kind words David!
David, thank you for taking the time to watch our film!
That's some excellent Star Trek! Thank you!
Thanks for watching and for your feedback, Christina!
You're the best Christina! We're very fortunate to have wonderful fans and friends like you! Thank you for supporting us!
@@joshuairwin2016 Admittedly, the wig looked pretty bad. Like it didn't fit right or wasn't smooth enough. ;)
And I get why you used it, with her changing her hair as a symbolic gesture, but I've never really cared for the concept that all Vulcans (and in the same vein, all Romulans) had the same hairstyle.
@@tydunivan Always! I've been watching you guys from the very beginning!
Ponn Farr has always been a touchy subject since TOS (AMOK TIME). I love the way you folks handled it.
🙏😎 Thank you! We’re glad you enjoyed our film!
Yay! :D
