To begin with, I applaud your production value, and you have clearly put your heart into paying respect to both franchises. When I saw that glimpse of a death glider, I thought to myself, this is epic! I understood exactly where the plot was going, but I wasn't bored by knowing it. Regretfully, I must take exception to the characterization of both Worf and Sisko. Early on, it is stated that Sisko might have instincts to take on the mothership because he perceives it as a bully. I doubt Sisko would label an unknown entity a bully under these circumstances. A threat, yes. A bully, no. That small insight into his psyche makes a lot of difference. You have done his character a lot of justice by demonstrating his overt courage and aggression when confronted with oppression; his fighting spirit emerges very aggressively when confronted with bullies like the Cardassians, the Dominion, etc. His anger flashes equally with those he perceives as traitors, such as Picard and Eddington. Indeed, he is more flawed in his perception of traitors than he is flawed about perceiving who's the bully in the room (wrong about Picard, and Eddington nearly drove him insane, but he always knew exactly where Weyoun and Dukat were coming from, feel me?). He is also quite the intellectual, and I feel he would understand that raising the Defiant's shields, while completely necessary, might be construed as an act of aggression by the ha'tak. Consequently, he might be less inclined to use force against the portal later on, especially considering that he knows very well that those hails and attempted replies might not be compatible. Also, I find it all too easy for someone to call Worf's logic caveman-like when they didn't offer up a suggestion themselves. The Benjamin Sisko that inspired strength and intelligence in people of color in my childhood neighborhood would probably take another moment before following Worf's suggestion. Having finally witnessed two people of color at the helm of a show (Worf and Sisko), my circle of associates have certainly learned to use force and empathy in equal measure. We have a habit of hoping those we are inspired by will do the same, granted, it doesn't always go down that way. Perhaps this difference in how we perceive a character like Sisko comes from a generational place. I saw DS9 in the late 1990s. The cultural norms of the time shaped how the show was perceived tremendously. The entire run of the show hits differently when one lives through the times in which it is produced versus having seen it later on. This is just a guess on my part. In any case, I'm just somebody looking from the outside in, and I already know that any slights are unintentional. I am impressed with your loyalty to the franchise, and I am grateful that someone out there is making quality films surrounding characters that have been foolishly abandoned by producers these days. The only reason I care enough to provide this level of input is because I can tell you are sincere, and to make something with this level of quality must have required sacrifices on your part that we may never know. Also, caveman or not, Worf's battle instincts have saved, well literally Everyone at some point or another. Good fortune to you.

Nicely done! Although Lt. Keely's character comes across as a bit starry-eyed for an experienced Starfleet officer, she's not that different from idealistic junior officers I've had experience with. With a minimum of scenery and CGI you've done a good job of showing how such an officer might react to the reality of war. Again, well done!
Thank you! Yeh she is only something like 23, having only actually been out of the academy between a year and 2 years, something pretty short so she hasn't got the experience. Bravo! Though I am not a fan of SG, that doesn’t matter in the least because you told a good story. Props to everyone involved in the continued excellence in CGI, music, costumes. Big respect for Nimran Saund for playing the peace loving Keeley. Trek battles are fun, but there is a more important story told here about “radical” pacifism, that destruction and war are, ultimately, abhorrent. I love that you made an anti-war story. It is, unfortunately, perfectly timely. Excellent work, crew! One of your best of all time. And thanks again for the political commentary, something the original Trek series did so well and so did you!

And so, it begins. As Anna Keely sits in her quarters brooding over recent events, little does she know that she is about to face the awe and mystery of a last best hope for peace, a private detective who didn't like his partner who's just been shot, but he was his partner, so he's supposed to do something about it, because he was his partner. A bad woman who brags about being a bad woman, and a fat guy who has a thing for falcons... All because a Vorlon has taken an interest in her.

This is very well done on so many levels. The technical presentation is very good, as is the story and the acting feels very authentic. You can feel the doubts and frustration of a war veteran who has experienced many useless deaths. The performance has depth and feels natural and real. _If_ the opponents are the Goa'uld like we know them, the actions taken were probably the best option. Defying them is the only thing they will respect. Resulting in even more useless deaths. But Lt Keely can't know this at this moment. @SGUDistantHope, you are asking for details we noticed. At 9:19 the death glider looks completely intact and we can not look inside the cockpit. This may be an artifact or a noticeable detail.

Very well put together film, very well acted. The most interesting thing about this story is that Keeley is very clearly an officer of the more pacifistic tradition of the TNG era, but come of age and into rank at the cusp of the darker age that DS9 heralds. Seeing those two disparate attitudes thrown into conflict in this story is fascinating, as one can absolutely make the argument that she is naive in her assessment… but one cannot help but feel as though, if the universe were truly more as she wishes it to be, it would be a kinder one. I think a number of the commenters you’ve had seem to be neglecting the fact that this is a story told from a single person’s point of view, a young person at that, and that she lacks the context of who that ship belonged to that a number of commenters have. It’s a very interesting perspective, and it’s always interesting to see people disagreeing with the main characters of the shows.

So a Ha'tack class mothership with its crew of 2000 Jaffa and maybe a Gu'ould under Lord from the Stargate Universe died in the Star Trek Prime Universe around 2373. That is a headache. The question is, is it one worthy of 1 Captain Janeways is known to have, or is it one of those someone would get from getting a human form replicator hand shoved into their head? Amazing video guys, keep it up the good work. 🖖
Thanks so much! Indeed, it was a test mission Hat'ack sent by Ba'al to go though the anomaly. The first few ships that went though, t he crew died (As seen in Broken Reality) but this was the first test trip where the crew survived. No high ranking officer was aboard, just jaffa. I utilised the same logic as with the Into a Mirror Darkly, that some portals can create breaches in universes which don't align to the same year in that timeline. If it is lets say 2016 in the SG timeline, for that breach it was 2373 as you say. Its all part of a continuing story we have worked out ha! I understand how she feels. I was a Corpsman And I was in a situation where I had to shoot someone who was a threat to my wounded Marines...... I did what I had to do. That doesn't mean I felt good about it. War or not the day you start to feel good about killing your enemy that's when you start to lose your humanity. You can still be relieved to survive the situation And regret what you were forced to do.
I mean, no ships have enough to take on the Borg. The Defiant was designed to be MUCH more manoeuvrable than the Galaxy, which in theory would help it avoid borg fire. In reality the Defiant class against the borg was meant to be used in suqadens...being able to deliver a LOT of fire power really quickly. Removing the quantum torpedos, the Galaxy and Defiant have similar phaser/pulse phaser output, the Galaxy has stronger shields but the Defiant has hull armour and manoeuvrability. well of course the Ha'tack class mothership was not going to respond after it's weapon's were down! That to me was painfully obvious. instead they retreated. this would indicate that they didn't arrive here by normal means but by dimensional means, however if I had to guess I'd say that the Goa'uld ship in question was possibly from one of the System Lords. question was, WHO was the lord commanding the Ha'Tack class mothership?

Cheers Samuel! You've made such advances in recent productions. Here is some feedback. DS9 has never looked so beautiful and real. Great job. Lt Keeley is a true find; an excellent actress. I appreciate the less prominent "camera float" ; on some vids, especially when watching on a large screen, it can almost make one seasick. On this video, it was much more subdued and natural, thanks. The backgrounds are GREAT, 99% seamless. As always, sound effects and music on point. Also, I think I detected less "fake film artifacts", which seem to counter the high def video quality, also appreciated. My only criticism is , the "tank slit" filming aspect ratio, which is not what a standard monitor or TV is designed for, but it seems you're devoted to it, I'm sure thinking it looks more cinematic, but for me at least, it just looks like a masked off vid that normally should fill an entire TV screen. Since people rarely watch movies in super wide panoramic 70mm movie cinemas anymore, I think a move to the TV standard, which is still quite wide, much wider than many classic 35mm were filmed in, should be considered. After all, the biggest blockbusters are shown in IMAX, which is much less wide, so I think the standard TV aspect ratio is a great compromise, without shrinking our screens to fit a legacy format they were never meant to display. Overall, VERY GOOD! Thank you and your crew for a lengthy, thoughtful, well produced addition to the lore!
No, Lt. J.G. Anna Keeley, it was not "wrong", it was a self-defense decision with barely seconds to decide. It was also war. In war there is no morality; there is only surrender or survival. If Keely intends to remain in Starfleet, she should remember that freedom is not free; it comes at the greatest of cost; the cost of blood. If you can't handle that reality, Keeley, you might want to do your hand ringing someplace else; not at Starfleet. . . . And for the record, Warf is no primitive, Warf is a warrior!

First I know that the ship is Stargate even though I never got into Stargate. I have to say to this, she is annoying based on everything piece of information, they made the ONLY choice. As far as they know one unknown ship that had no communication with, destroyed 10 ships with little damage and then tried to get away. If they did her way the ship would have gotten away and then they would come back with a Armada to wipe out the entire Alpha and Beta powers
Ha! Indeed...it could have been any alien race, but we wanted to add to our own cross over series and make the from Stargate. Tis is a young officer who did not sign up for war. The older Keeley would approach this different and react different...how age and experience changes you is part of what we are doing with Trek Shorts. I'm sorry, but I do *NOT* like this form of episode. If I want to watch a talk show, I'll watch a talk show. If I'm watching a ST vs SG1 interdimensional mashup, I want to see ACTING ( Which this girl is CLEARLY capable of! ) and action. I know you don't have the resources to make this a full 30 minute action episode, but you should have made 4 or 5 10 minute normal episodes, with the action. good story, would have been GREAT if it was a normal episode. Please don't spend time, $$$$, or talent on story episodes.
First rule of war sweetie: people die. Honestly this endless prattling on about conflict and war........it continues to make modern Trek intolerable sometimes. Can we get back to an adult POV about such things?
I see neither of you have actually watched Star Trek. Star Trek is about exploring the experience of the people in its universe, not brushing aside the harsh realities. Give Star Trek a watch sometime.
@@nickdiggerzAYELBORNE: As I stand here, I also stand upon the home planet of the Klingon Empire, and the home planet of your Federation, Captain. I'm going to put a stop to this insane war. KOR: You're what? KIRK: You're talking nonsense. AYELBORNE: It is being done. KIRK: You can't just stop the fleet. What gives you the right? KOR: You can't interfere. What happens in space is not your business. AYELBORNE: Unless both sides agree to an immediate cessation of hostilities, all your armed forces, wherever they may be, will be immediately immobilised. KIRK: We have legitimate grievances against the Klingons. They've invaded our territory, killed our citizens. They're openly aggressive. They've boasted that they'll take over half the galaxy. KOR: Why not? We're the stronger! You've tried to hem us in, cut off vital supplies, strangle our trade! You've been asking for war! KIRK: You're the ones who issued the ultimatum to withdraw from the disputed areas! KOR: They are not disputed! They're clearly ours. And now you step in with some kind of trick. AYELBORNE: It is no trick, Commander. We have simply put an end to your war. All your military forces, wherever they are, are now completely paralysed. CLAYMARE: We find interference in other people's affairs most disgusting, but you gentlemen have given us no choice. KIRK: You should be the first to be on our side. Two hundred hostages killed. AYELBORNE: No one has been killed, Captain. CLAYMARE: No one has died here in uncounted thousands of years. KOR: You are liars. You are meddling in things that are none of your business. KIRK: Even if you have some power that we don't understand, you have no right to dictate to our Federation KOR: Or our Empire! KIRK: How to handle their interstellar relations! We have the right AYELBORNE: To wage war, Captain? To kill millions of innocent people? To destroy life on a planetary scale? Is that what you're defending? KIRK: Well, no one wants war. But there are proper channels. People have a right to handle their own affairs. Eventually, we will have AYELBORNE: Oh, eventually you will have peace, but only after millions of people have died. It is true that in the future, you and the Klingons will become fast friends. You will work together. KOR: Never! CLAYMARE: Your emotions are most discordant. We do not wish to seem inhospitable, but gentlemen, you must leave. AYELBORNE: Yes, please leave us. The mere presence of beings like yourselves is intensely painful to us. KIRK: What do you mean, beings like yourselves? AYELBORNE: Millions of years ago, Captain, we were humanoid like yourselves, but we have developed beyond the need of physical bodies. That of us which you see is mere appearance for your sake. KOR: Captain, it's a trick. We can handle them. I have an army. (Kirk holds him back as Ayelborne and Claymare transform into pulsating lights, too bright to look at. Then they disappear.) SPOCK: Fascinating. Pure energy. Pure thought. Totally incorporeal. Not life as we know it at all. KIRK: But what about this planet? The fields, the buildings, this citadel? SPOCK: Conventionalisations, I should say. Useless to the Organians. Created so that visitors such as ourselves, could have conventional points of reference. KOR: But is all of this possible? SPOCK: We have seen it with our own eyes. I should say the Organians are as far above us on the evolutionary scale as we are above the amoeba. KIRK: Well, Commander, I guess that takes care of the war. Obviously, the Organians aren't going to let us fight. KOR: A shame, Captain. It would have been glorious.

@@M_J_Glide_22 Glad you liked the acting and CGI. The film was written with none of that in mind, just an honest young Star Fleet officer who joined to explore the stars, now having to help/watch thousands of people being killed, Klingons espeecially who her entire life have been allies. Its a very hard thing but she does her duty. This situation has her finally able to event all her pent up feelings. As she ages, she grows and the older Keeley we see in other films would likely say different things. Fantastic work and yeah the Lt couldn't know but they did the right thing, The Goa'uld cannot be permitted to get a foothold in the Trek Universe.
This was awesome. And she's gorgeous.

@ Yes. When Keeley recalled with some horror the devastating capabilities of the Defiant’s firepower and being the one who maneuvered the ship into its firing arcs-taking responsibility for her actions and having a visceral reaction to the part she played in killing. Great writing. Like I said before, I think this is probably your best work. As for Patreon, I am already a proud supporter of your work through that platform! LLAP!

And so, it begins. As Anna Keely sits in her quarters brooding over recent
events, little does she know that she is about to face the awe and mystery
of a last best hope for peace, a private detective who didn't like his
partner who's just been shot, but he was his partner, so he's supposed to
do something about it, because he was his partner. A bad woman who brags
about being a bad woman, and a fat guy who has a thing for falcons...
All because a Vorlon has taken an interest in her.
Indeed, it is only going to get...darker from here on.

Really good one! I hope Keely gets to find out that the pyramid ship would not have been a good ally for the Federation.
Hopefully she survives long enough to get used to the idea of either being the wreckage or the one asking what went wrong, but I don't want her to accept it as the only way.
Thanks! Glad people are really enjoying it! I dont know if she does...maybe that story will come some day...the character is certainly all about growth, and seeing how she would react 20 years later...would be intersting!

I'm loving this SG1 crossover. I'm wondering which Goa'uld they were fighting. I hope to see more SG1 crossover. Star Trek and SG1 are my 2 favorite sifi franchisees of all time. Great film I hope y'all do more.
[EDIT] The Ensign doesn't realize what the Goa'uld would have done to her and her crew if the didn't deal with them like that. It wouldn't have been good.

I all ways thought the tech of the UFP would be more advanced than that of the Goa'uld's of 4000 BCE - 2000 AD (Stargate Movie through SG1 Season 1-4) and Anubis' return in 2001 the G'uld's tech advanced considerably (SG1 Season 5-8)

War or not the day you start to feel good about killing your enemy that's when you start to lose your humanity. You can still be relieved to survive the situation And regret what you were forced to do.
1:48 waaait, isnt the firepower of the galaxy class famously not enough to fight the borg? should be way more
I mean, no ships have enough to take on the Borg.

Yep! If you know Stargate then her innocence is even more "well that was never going to happen" and thats part of the fun! This was a test mission Hat'ack sent by Ba'al to go though the anomaly.
Thanks! Always try and improve!.
DS9 - Thank you! Did you like our recent film "Living the Dream" lots of DS9 shots there:D
Keeley/Nim - yes she is!!
Thank you so much for the feedback and glad you enjoyed!
No, Lt.
The goa'uld only deserve the Vulcan Hello.

I love that you are analysing this as thats exactly the point, this is her perspective but older officers watching this would agree with Sisko...shes young...she will learn.

Honestly this endless prattling on about conflict and war........it continues to make modern Trek intolerable sometimes. Can we get back to an adult POV about such things?

KIRK: Even if you have some power that we don't understand, you have no right to dictate to our Federation
KOR: Or our Empire!
KIRK: How to handle their interstellar relations! We have the right
AYELBORNE: To wage war, Captain? To kill millions of innocent people? To destroy life on a planetary scale? Is that what you're defending?
KIRK: Well, no one wants war. But there are proper channels. People have a right to handle their own affairs. Eventually, we will have
AYELBORNE: Oh, eventually you will have peace, but only after millions of people have died.
Then they disappear.)
SPOCK: Fascinating.
