Why in the world can't we get great entertainment like this anymore from mainstream studios. Do they know how much latinum they could be making here??? I raise my horn of blood wine to you all!!! QAPLA!!!
I'm rather bummed I missed the premiere, but so glad to finally be sitting down and watching this one! Only nitpick so far is that in the Prime Universe, it was established that all Constitution-class starships were commanded by men (not that I'm complaining you made Allenby the captain of the Excalibur, just a note). Hilarious that Prime universe female Mason has the hots for Jakande, lol, though a little odd that Avalon and Prime Allenby were antagonistic in the beginning. of course, their scene in the turbolift explains it. Loved the inclusion of scenes and bits from other series! Loved the cameos from Sam, Nick, George, and the others. Josh, you and the Avalon Universe team knocked it out of the park again, as always. Looking forward to the next one!
Hi Christina! I'm glad you finally got to see it! I wanted to offer some things on your thoughts. With regards to The Excalibur having a female Captain. I saw this as a follow up to the Star Trek Continues Episode "Embrace The Winds". The Stardate of 7002.3 places the film after Star Trek Continues. My reasoning was that because so many heavy cruisers were lost, that the still space worthy frame of the Excalibur was repaired and put back into service. Allenby was seen as a safe choice, due to the reputation of her father, but as we'll learn in the next edition of "Tales From The Neutral Zone" many believed she was not up to the task. Between you and me Janice Lester's lines in "Turnabout Intruder" are a product of a 60s mindset and should be completely disregarded. But you could maybe interoperate her line "Your world of Starship Captains Doesn't Admit Women" as her saying that male Captains like Kirk are too devoted to the job to truly invest in a relationship with a woman.. Which there is truth to.
With regard to the dynamic between Prime, Avalon, and Mirror, it was an example of things not always being what they seem. I saw Prime and Mirror as the Angel and the Devil on her shoulder. And sometimes doing the right thing can seem a lot harder in the beginning. At first, Prime is all business and comes across as a hard ass because she thinks Avalon has her head in the clouds during the meeting and is not truly focusing. Avalon realizes that Prime is giving her a hard time. It's a case of each seeing their own worse traits in the other. It put Avalon on edge with Prime, making her more open to befriending Mirror. On the flip side Mirror comes across as fun and relatable. Mirror's relationship with Avalon is a condensed portrayal of Narcissistic Abuse. Once the camaraderie and trust was established with Avalon, Mirror then turns cold and controlling attempting to manipulate Avalon. In the end even though Prime might have been all business at times, she's the version that truly believes in Avalon, and is worthy of her respect.
@@joshuairwin2016 You know, I actually had the thought that this episode might come after "Embrace the Winds", though I did not pay attention to the stardate, lol. I really like the idea that Starfleet took chances with promoting female captains to capital starships after the Garrett v. Starfleet lawsuit from STC. Though also as you say, Lester's words were the product of a 60s mindset that didn't even want a woman in a command position (disregarding the fact that the actress in question was Roddenberry's mistress), so could definitely be one of those BS canon issues that are conveniently disregarded in the way so many fans ignore "Threshold" and "These Are the Voyages". And I definitely see what you mean about male captains and relationships, though the same could also be said of female captains, as those of the rank regardless of gender often seem to be married to their ships.
@@joshuairwin2016 I also understand your reasoning here -- it totally makes sense when you put things in these terms. On another note, I have to admit that I was a little bit surprised that Mirror Jakande flipped on Mirror Allenby, but obviously glad he did!
Brilliant! Awesome! Anything that has a quote from Galaxy Quest does it for me and also has multiple snippets of signature tunes including battlestar galactica, pure genius! It was great.
Just had to find something Trekkie, I’m a big fan of the Star Trek universe…watched it the very first time it hit the air waves in the 60’s. Thank you all for a wonderful story….HIGH 5….🖖 live long and prosper…hoping to see more….Merry Christmas to all….👍❤️🙏🏼
I think you had particular fun making this one! I couldn't help but notice the registry number of NCC 1969 on a certain particularly flowery Excalibur...
A priceless showcase of homages. Well done, with whimsy and reverent appreciation for all the stories we've loved. And now you've made one more story that brings us together in joy.
Great Job ! I enjoyed this a lot. Would like to have seen the crews of even more alternative Excaliburs, but I understand how it might make the show a lot longer and more convoluted. Most of all I want to see a episode centered on the Love-ship Excalibur, Space Hippy comedy.
First comment! Yessss! Lol This was such an honor to be a part of and I kno what it took for you to get this made. I'm very proud of you josh and very proud of all involved. This was a great fan film and really set the bar
Well Done, I really liked the fact that you used ships from other franchises as well as ST. Having said that, the high point for me was seeing the LSD Excalibur. I had come to hate those characters but when I saw this I really LMAO.
Also, whoever that girl is that played so many of the parts. You know, she was a science officer and also captain of a couple of ships. One of her was a villian. SHE WAS AMAZING! Seriously, top notch acting. And I don't give out praise easily, believe me. WELL DONE young lady
The only thing I expected that they missed was using Alexandra as Samantha Carter in the 1990s as the SG ship's science officer. There is a rather strong resemblance, especially in her alternate hairstyles or wigs.
First time comment on anything? Watch every video I get my hands-on. I really love this. I've been laughing going. Oh, my God, and load of twisted . The end Great job, everybody Looking forward to the next one.
This was absolutely amazing everyone! I was hooked the whole time! Everyone's personal stories, seeing the acting as different characters, it was so cool. Also I loved the nods to all the universes. Star Wars and Mass Effect were the most memorable, and it was cool to see the Borg Hunters, too! A true work of art and a labor of love. One of the best ST fan films I've seen... ever.
oh, wow, this is amazing! when i first started watching, i thought, ok a stargate/star trek crossover, that's different but dull, and then almost immediately it was crossover on top of crossover, all getting better as it went along. top notch movie. 47 out of 47 stars(inside star trek joke).
I saw ships from Star Wars, Old Battlestar Galactia, Buck Rogers in the 25 the Century Star Trek Enterprise, The Orville, Star Gate SG1, the Preservers, . Super Neat! Then there was the Love Federation, Captain Flower Blossom, and Commander Presley (Only in a Multiverse Crossover) Well DONE!!! Keep making these!
I've been a Trek fan since the 70's, that being said, this is really good stuff, characters, stories, FX, and all, thank all of you, in front of and behind the camera, great job.
I've been dodging this thinking it may be a cheesy fan film, now I am subscribed. This is as good as official Star Trek, sometimes even better, acting, plot and effects, thanks for the Star Trek fix! I needed that!
Very nice job of parodying the whole fan film fraternity. Too bad you couldn't get Cawley to play Captain Presley...but we got it. Much more fun to watch than the TNG episode it was adapted from. The running soap opera gag and PS was quite amusing.
Lots of respect for what James Cawley accomplished in pioneering fan films. He inspired so many of the rest of us. My understanding is that he has moved on from filmmaking. But we wish him the best!
What a fun show. And I had to laugh at all the ships from other "time streams," wondering whose model collection was raided, but in retrospect, the models appearing were probably a group effort; I find that those who like Star Trek also are willing to watch other series as well. Seeing the Yamato made me burst out laughing (I admit I have both the anime and live action versions). I may have to re-watch the show to see all the various ships. Outstanding effort! Slainté (Irish for "to your health!")
Damn, I didn’t expect to this to be that good. This was certainly better than most the stuff we’ve been getting the past decade from paramount. Thank you! I’ve said for years, trek fans would much rather have good stories with lower production quality (not that this was bad, it was quite good), than top notch production quality with bad stories and characters. Thank you!
So much fanservice, absolutely FANtastic, amazing job, everyone. Well written, directed and acted story 👏. Star Trek, Stargate, The Orville, Galaxy Quest, Andromeda etc.. in one episode, just awesome 😊. Ps: It's really nice to see that Gene Roddenberry's Andromeda gets some attention 37:20
After I saw that over the past 7 years close to 30 fan films have been released that exceed 40 minutes, I decided to go ahead and tell my story. Time will tell, hopefully CBS/P will show the same grace it has for the past few years.
That was one wid ride! Just about every famfilm was represented, as well as specific other series. Seeing the God Phoenix from Battle of The Planets was a nice twist. As well I saw a shout out to Hidden Frontier ( It would have been funny if it was the clip of My USS Angelfire, but most appropiate for Cory Aster and Jorian Zen be there). as well as Star Trek Continues, and for a second I thought I saw Phase Two as well. It looked like a lot of fun! :-)
Same here I was picturing the same thing by on Star Trek online with my ship the Uss Deschenes from a alternate the universe and reality and I thought facing my mirror counterpart was problematic the episode is very cool and my character for Star Trek online is half human half Romulan the other one is a jam'hadar different name his name is Torkar
@@coltmurray5527 Well, I was a part of what is considered The "Grandfather" of Trek Fan films, Star Trek: Hidden Frontier. Why in the world can't we get great entertainment like this anymore from mainstream studios. Do they know how much latinum they could be making here??? I raise my horn of blood wine to you all!!! QAPLA!!!
Thank you ! I really appreciate that!
@@ChristinaMoore79 I'm sure it surprised her too! 😄
I'm definitely going to need to watch this again!! So many references! ... Never give up! Never surrender!! 🖖🖖🖖
Bravo! Another excellent video from the Avalon group. I'm your loyal fan.
Brilliant! Awesome! Anything that has a quote from Galaxy Quest does it for me and also has multiple snippets of signature tunes including battlestar galactica, pure genius! It was great.
Thank you so much! I'm really glad you enjoyed it!
Just had to find something Trekkie, I’m a big fan of the Star Trek universe…watched it the very first time it hit the air waves in the 60’s. Thank you all for a wonderful story….HIGH 5….🖖 live long and prosper…hoping to see more….Merry Christmas to all….👍❤️🙏🏼
This is nothing short of amazing. I can't remember the last time I had this much fun.
Thank you!! I'm glad you liked it!
Awesome fan film Josh and crew. I know how much work went into the making of this and I must say it really paid off. Something to be proud of!
Thank you Julie! Can't wait to collaborate on your project!
Insane in the membrane! Entertainment WOW!!! Star Dates of Our Lives!!! LOL THANK YOU SO MUCH!
Thank you! Really glad you enjoyed it!
love the space battleship yamato representation!
Loved the show everyone. The amount of cross overs were mind blowing and funny in spots. Great job, I will watch this again. Keep them coming.
Thanks for watching our film! I'm glad you liked it. And thank you for the comment!
There needs to be a cameo-ship appendix so I can figure out what obscure show I missed...
Yes, please. A complete Easter egg reference guide would be wonderful.
I think you had particular fun making this one! I couldn't help but notice the registry number of NCC 1969 on a certain particularly flowery Excalibur...
WOW.. It goes to show.. you can NEVER have too many Excaliburs!!! That was truly amazing. So much action, drama, and chuckles.. SUPERB!
The Phoenix from Battle Of The Planets!? LoL
Presley!? TCB
Brilliant screenplay. Executed so well.
Thank you, I enjoyed watching.
Fabulous! OUTSTANDING! Should be a full length big screen movie. Brilliant story.
I really appreciate that! Thank you!
Brilliant! This is awesome!!! Good job people! Loving it
The actors did a really good job acting against themselves in multiple roles. It was pretty seamless.
Thank you! I know it wasn't easy for them.
Allenby is a very solid actress, she have a great future i think, and ofcourse so many others in your team
A priceless showcase of homages. Well done, with whimsy and reverent appreciation for all the stories we've loved. And now you've made one more story that brings us together in joy.
Thank you, thank you and thank you for using the Preservers!
I have to say that I really enjoyed this! Thanks to everyone involved.
Part 2 Please! Very well done😊
There will be a follow up film next year.
Great Job ! I enjoyed this a lot. Would like to have seen the crews of even more alternative Excaliburs, but I understand how it might make the show a lot longer and more convoluted. Most of all I want to see a episode centered on the Love-ship Excalibur, Space Hippy comedy.
And the Elvis!!!!!
Well... If Jonathan Lane gets his way.. You Will.
That'll be a hunk of burning love.
love the idea of different ships for other universes and same but different crews trying to work together 🖖👍
This was good. Kudos to all who participated in the creation of this work.
Absolutely great all the way through! Loved all of the Easter Eggs.
Easter Eggs are one of my favorite parts! Thank you for your comment! I'm glad you liked the film!
That was an ambitious project and you pulled it off! Great job, Avalon!
Thank you guy who doesn’t exist and is only a pen name!
Wild all the crossovers of some of my favorite shows! Fun show and like the humor flowing through it all!
First comment! Yessss! Lol
This was such an honor to be a part of and I kno what it took for you to get this made.
Thanks man! Yeah the hippie universe was one of the most fun parts of making it!
Delightfully cheesy and entertaining true to the spirit of TOS :) great stuff, very well done!
Also, whoever that girl is that played so many of the parts. You know, she was a science officer and also captain of a couple of ships.
One of her was a villian.
SHE WAS AMAZING!
Seriously, top notch acting. And I don't give out praise easily, believe me.
WELL DONE young lady
Thank you Michael! Yes indeed, and seeing what she went through to play those parts... She was a warrior!
Alex Rexford. And yeah, she knocked it out of the park!
The only thing I expected that they missed was using Alexandra as Samantha Carter in the 1990s as the SG ship's science officer. There is a rather strong resemblance, especially in her alternate hairstyles or wigs.
@@STho205 GOOD point. I could totally see that
Great seeing a ship from that ST-inspired show too. 😉
Great stuff, so many Easter eggs, such fantastic compositing and really nice performances. Well done, everyone.
That was so much fun! All of the possibilities...
Thank you so much!
Amazing episode! “We reach” was a great nod to TOS. So many great things about this and everyone got to shine. Fantastic work.
First time comment on anything?
Watch every video I get my hands-on. I really love this. I've been laughing going. Oh, my God, and load of twisted .
The end Great job, everybody Looking forward to the next one.
Thank you! We really appreciate that!
One of the best ST fan films I've seen... ever.

Star Trek & Babylon 5 😮😊 the best of both worlds
I have to agree!
6:06 Loving the Captain's uniform. Respectful, feminine and formal.
Cmdr. Presley was HILARIOUS!!! 🤣😂😅 And, that ending scene had me in stitches, Lol!
Thank you so much! I'm really glad you enjoyed it!
Thankya. Thankyavurymuch.
This one's a treasure just for the Easter Eggs alone. But a Star Trek soap opera? LOLLOLLOL!!!
Great job!
28:42 Seeing a space battleship Excalibur was a treat. Thank you! 😊
oh, wow, this is amazing! when i first started watching, i thought, ok a stargate/star trek crossover, that's different but dull, and then almost immediately it was crossover on top of crossover, all getting better as it went along. top notch movie. 47 out of 47 stars(inside star trek joke).
There's something wonderful about watching people enjoy themselves
I saw ships from Star Wars, Old Battlestar Galactia, Buck Rogers in the 25
the Century Star Trek Enterprise, The Orville, Star Gate SG1, the Preservers, . Super Neat! Then there was the Love Federation, Captain Flower Blossom, and Commander Presley (Only in a Multiverse Crossover) Well DONE!!! Keep making these!
I've watched this Film Twice it was so good!!
This was so much fun to watch. Thank you!
Thank you! It was fun to make, and we're grateful that people are enjoying it!
Absolutely fantastic...!...
Everyone in SciFi was there...
Such a great tribute to all the series we have loved over the decades...
Thank you so much for watching!
Very ! well made and enjoyed. Thank You
Thank you so much for watching our film! I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Well done everyone! That was freakin' awesome! The best Star Trek I have seen in a long time! Keep 'em coming!
Thank you! I'm glad you liked it! Please, check out the other films on our channel.
Wow, so many things going on here, I don't know where to begin. Great job.
Not the soap at the end?? LOL!! I loved this!!
Immediately thought of Cawley. A real lol 😝 moment.
Thank you! Really glad you enjoyed it!
Your series has progressed enough for channel 13. Good luck.
Thank you!
Thank you so much! We are really glad you liked it!
Time for a Banana and Peanut Butter Sandwich! Well done!
Been eagerly awaiting this production, so many plot possibilities with idea.
Soo amazing, loved every minute, with the added bonus of guess the franchise LLAP
Thank you so much!
Not bad. Not bad at all. Good to see you all progressing.
So glad you had 40 minutes to tell the story. I enjoyed the mashup of all the universes. An excellent production.
After I saw that over the past 7 years close to 30 fan films have been released that exceed 40 minutes, I decided to go ahead and tell my story. Time will tell, hopefully CBS/P will show the same grace it has for the past few years.
Commander, you have outdone yourself Baby! Lol!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
With just digital tapes, a video toaster, commercailly produced costumes, and a giant green wall in a bedroom, many years ago. I started out as a background Performer and Propmaster. And the landed the role of Gul Malek from season 4 on. My group came out from Phoenix, AZ to Pasasenia, CA monthly to film with Rob Caves and crew. In one of the season 7 episodes "Hearts and Minds". Our SFI chapter USS Angelfire was honored as for the 1st time The Angelfire herself was on the screen (she is a Sovereign class Starship bearing the Regristry of NCC-75025 and was part of a fleet lookig for the "lost" USS Independence (also a Sovereign Class Starship NCC-75015).
Thank you so much for your time and talent. I can begin to understand what it took to put this together! Loved every minute of it. My hero is First Officer Presley! Very cool 😎!
Thank you so much for your kind words. Yes indeed we worked very hard to make the film. And it's really rewarding when people take the time to say they enjoyed it! We really appreciate it!
“Thankyavurymuch!”
