That's a beautiful car! I remember having been to a classic cars show, I saw a lot of these old Ferraris, they're really something special! And you managed to capture that magic in a sheet of plastic, very well done!
I love watching your technique, I think is something I'd start playing around with. Not for scale reproduction of classics, but rather have some fun and design own bodies for Tamiya buggies, that would be cool!

Very very inspiring! Have you made a video of the details of your vacuum forming components?

Great idea to have it in pieces. You would have never gotten it out if it was whole

Absolutely. Cars from the 50s and 60s have often shapes which require huge undercuts.

@@scalercmodels9261 I fully understand, still absolute great model. I printed myself classic car bodies (Simca 1200s and BMW 3.0csl), unfortunally you really need to drive them like real cars (which i dont do), since they break easily.
While searching for classic car lexan bodies i stumbled across L+L models, they offer a 257mm 250gto body. I think i will buy one of them.
      Thank you for your answer.

Can you make the unpainted body shell and send it by post, if yes then how much will it cost?

Wow your car is amazing . How long did it take you to get the shaping done ? How did you verify that you had accurate contour. Lines of the original . can you make a video on how you were able to achieve such a nice finish . sorry for all the questions .I'm going to be doing the same thing but with a different car.

It took me approx. 7-10 hours of work to make the mold. To find the right shape I'm using blueprints as you can see in the video. And having a model in 1:43 or 1:24 also helps to find the right shape. Then I'm using lots of pictures of the original car from different angles and compare them with my mold by looking at it from different angles. You can see that I took a pen to apply the frobt lights, airdzcts, windows etc. This helps to see if the shape is right.
For the smooth surface, it's simply wood filler, sanding, then again filler, sanding, filler, sanding...
Finally I use zinc spray and fine sanding paper (200-400). Also this is done 2-3 times.
You will find a couple of build videos on my channel here, e.g. Ferrari 156 Sharknose, Ferrari 512 S, Ferrari 312 B3...
Here for instance the 312B3, you'll see more of the filler/zincspray/ sanding process:
