- Replacing a bad injector on 1000 ft/lbs 2020 Ram 3500 with 6.7L engine (same procedure and tools for 2012 and up model years). 2019 and up vehicles with Cummins engine are now equipped with hydraulic rocker arms so torque procedure is different.

This video has it all. Thank you so much. One way to get the feeder tube out without buying the special tool is once the feeder tube bolt is removed you can lightly reattach the fuel line onto the tube and it’ll give you more leverage to pop it out
I could watch this all day. I have a 6.7 Cummins and I love watching maintenance videos. How in the hell would you ever remove the injector / tube in cylinder 6?

Struggle a bit more. Just did it on mine. Offset wrench (3/4” or 19mm) is necessary. Torquing things is a bit more difficult due to space constraints
I read that you should always replace the injector tubes when swapping injectors. The tip of the tube forms its own seat on the opening to each particular injector.If you re-use it on the new injector, you run the risk of leaks.
It's mind-boggling the amount of work to change an injector you would think somehow they would have the injectors on the outside if possible because I don't even comprehend wiring being on the inside of the cylinder head without just melting totally

Its actually cheaper to replace all 6 injectors on the 2019+ Cummins 6.7's. 1 injector by itself runs around $1800. A 6 pack of injectors runs $2700.

So I took the exhaust side push rod out to
clean it cuz some debris got on it well when I
went back to put it back on it sits higher than
the rest if I tight the Allen bolt it wants to bend

I don't see a final torque number on the injector hold down, you went straight to the rocker replacement after the the connector tube torque. 8 NM seems awfully light when every other 6.7 before it is recommended at 79" lbs.
Did you have to rotate the engine at all?
Can you get the injectors code without getting the I ejectors out? I replaced a new engine and need to do the IQA program for the injectors

Contamination is a big one, I had one where the pick up pump failed and sent metal debris through the filters to the high pressure pump and clogged up the injectors.
can I reset/reprogram my injectors on a snap on scan tool? just got my injectors Flow tested and cleaned and need to reinstall.... Thanks!!!
Sure, as long as that function (offset reset) is supported by the scan tool.
I just had my engine replaced, wanted to do the IQA program for the injectors, got the I ejectors out and non of them have codes 😭

Sorry for the late reply, Cummins 6.7L injectors don't need to be programmed, you only need to reset the injector values.
So the rocker arms/valves/bridges don’t need to be timed/gabbed anymore on the 2020s?
There are no adjusting nuts anymore, it’s all hydraulic now. If for some reason removed there is that timed multistep tightening procedure to allow for proper oil bleeding of the hydraulic lifters.

I haven't done another one since, I believe it was a rare occasion!
He said he thought someone was in there already because a couple bolts were too tight
