    Just for future viewing reference do not remove the 14mm nut on the rocker arms just remove the 10mm hold down bolt and install new injector torque bolt back down to 27 ft lbs no need for valve adjustment for an injector install unless you just want to

    Thank You.
    That was very helpful, there’s a guy at the shop that is very knowledgeable but, He is a pain in the Axx, so instead ask him I prefer doing my search so I can figure out by myself.
    Excellent video!

    Why did you remove the lash setting nut? You only need to remove the center bolt to remove the rocker assembly..

      Playing with fire unless you like to reset the overhead.

      I was going off of this video cause it was step by step and easy to go off of but I was wondering myself but by the time I figured out I didn't need to it was to late I spun all the nuts off because I'm replacing all injectors. Now I have to gap every rocker and it would be so bad but this video does not show the gapping process or gap specs. This would have been a thumbs way up but now is not

    This is great, very clear and easy to follow. Now I just have to pinpoint which Injector is bad. That will be tomorrow job.

    Question. If I install a rebuilt injector and need to program the ECU for that née injector. Do any of the aftermarket “tuners” enable me to program that into the ECU? I plan to buy a tuner anyway, so if I can do that and avoid paying that money to a local shop to program, it might save me some cash in the overall picture.

      Yup

    • @possumpopper89
      @possumpopper89 ปีที่แล้ว

      @drywall308 the injectors have a number etched into the body. If you install new injectors, the ECU will sometimes throw a trouble code unless you enter the number into the ECU. Turns out my truck ran fine without codes. It already had a tuner installed so it didn’t give me any issues.

    Why did you loosen the lash adjustment initially and why didn't you remove the exhaust and intake rockers at the same time?

    Great video. Very detailed on all the procedures. Just had a question. What brand of torque wrench you used for this job. I have tried to get both inch lbs and ft lbs 3/8 set but can’t see what’s the brand that have them both. If you have the information I would appreciate it. Thank you

    • @robbiegolds1234
      @robbiegolds1234 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You can also convert Nm to Ftlbs or in lbs. As long as your torque wrench has a low minimum variance (ie 11 inch lbs lol). The only one that i have that goes to zero is one with an actual scale on it haha.

    Thanks body, its my 1st time on Cummins and I've no manual for assembling the injectors, that's weird although it's marine engine.

    good vid, thx. It looks like the injector has an indentation for the inlet...how do you ensure the injector is clocked correctly so that the inlet tube lines up with the injector fuel inlet? or maybe the injector just is seated inside a 'chamber' and the fuel inlet tube just injects into the chamber?

      Exactly my question

    • @trevorduhon3617
      @trevorduhon3617 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It simply won’t snap in place, you have to make sure your hole on your injector is facing towards where the tube goes in. before snapping in place

      I don’t know if that was supposed to be funny or if you’ve only worked on a Powerstroke before. These engines seem so much easier to work on.

  • @kilianculver9263

    You just calibrate the injector codes into the ecm and don't loosen the valve train lock nuts unless you just absolutely want to do an overhead procedure
