  • How much horsepower & torque can you gain with some simple FBO bolt-on mods such as the PRL HVI (air intake), the Mishimoto Intercooler (or PRL intercooler), and the PRL HV Downpipe? Can you add horsepower to your 10th Gen Honda Accord without adding an ECU tune such as the KTuner Stage 2 or Phearable Stage 3? We put our 10th Gen Honda Accord - a 2019 Honda Accord 2.0 Touring project car on a DYNOJET dyno to see how much horsepower can be made on the stock / OEM ECU tune and some basic performance bolt-on mods and compare it to our baseline dyno numbers. We'll routinely dyno test our 2019 Honda Accord 2.0 Touring as we embark on our Honda Accord's modification journey - next up, a custom ECU tune, PRL Flex Fuel Kit, lightweight rims and sticky tires, you can help decide...

    I don't own either car you have but awesome videos! came across your intercooler video and then was really just gaining info on turbo engine mods and how it helped or hurt your car (IC, intake, downpipe, ect..). Just trying to squeeze as much out of my off the shelf tuned Jetta. I didn't even know new accords had a turbo, thats pretty cool. would love to see a custom tune by brent at pfi.

    Interesting data here, Chad. If my memory serves me, HVI didn’t do much for gains as well as the HVDP.. it looks like the FMI has been the most useful bolt on mod so far. I forget what your dyno results were for this car bone stock, I feel like lower than 252 Hp though. I’m excited to see the flex fuel vid. Thanks again bro!

    • @TheLemonFactor
      @TheLemonFactor  ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s correct… so far the ECU tune and intercooler are the real power adders, although I’m hopeful that the flex fuel will produce some nice gains 😎

    E85 really makes a difference, my accord 2.0t stage 2 Ktuner in the hot summer weather without E85 wouldn’t really run good ( meaning k.controll ) k.controll would be around 0.65 without doing anything crazy and when I would do a little WOP pull the k.controll would go as high as 0.8 - 0.9 which isn’t good. After running E10 which equates to about 5.5L - 6L a tank, the car is completely different. K.controll stays at 0.49 - 0.48 even when it’s really hot. The car now pulls and doesn’t want to stop pulling, really really recommend trying it out especially with all the mods you have ! ( I am at sea level )

    • @TheLemonFactor
      @TheLemonFactor  ปีที่แล้ว

      If you’re K.con easily runs that high, and you are indeed using a quality high octane gas, then I would seriously consider getting a custom tune. Running E in that manner is simply putting a bandaid on the problem, instead of addressing the issue 🫤

    With the factory turbo.. did you notice a drop in boost pressure after the Mishimoto intercooler, stock tune? What’s the max boost pressure you ran on a stock tune, factory turbo? I know boost pressure isn’t everything, but I’m wondering if I’m on par with what you were at one point. I now have the Mishimoto intake and Mishimoto intercooler and seeing MAYBE 15-16 pounds tops. I do and have always ran 91 octane fuel as well. 😊 Thanks Zach

      I did not notice a drop in boost pressure after installing the Intercooler. You may have a boost leak.

    I just switched over to ktuner phearable stage 3 93 octane tune (Cali 91+ ~1.5 gal E85) and I’ll say this, there’s a very noticeable difference between ktuner and jb4 that I’ve been running since 20k miles (installed ktuner at 70k miles), the k.control is high on both jb4 and ktuner all else being equal in my experience… there’s no way around it! But phearable stage 3 is pretty good!

    • @TheLemonFactor
      @TheLemonFactor  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sure there’s a way around it - you can use the Phearable Stage 3 91 octane tune instead of the 93 octane, or you can get a custom tune 🤷‍♂️

      @@TheLemonFactor I agree that I can go to 91 octane BUT even on kTuner stage 2 with Cali 91 octane plus ~1.5 gal E85, the k. Control just goes up when pushed and the same happens on jb4 stage 2 as well… idk… that’s what I’ve noticed so far

    Are you going to get a cat back exhaust system like Magnaflow?

    • @TheLemonFactor
      @TheLemonFactor  ปีที่แล้ว

      As the downpipe didn’t add much in the way of horsepower, it leads me to believe the exhaust is not a restriction and we wouldn’t see much from the exhaust. However, once we upgrade to a larger turbo it may be beneficial 👍

  • @warped11
    @warped11 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    So flex fuel would be a good video. You would prob test with Ktuner V2 tune, phearable stage 4 tune, and a custom tune. That would be a juicy one but will cost you $$$. I know the phearable revision for flex fuel is another $200 just for them to add it on your stage 3.

    What is involved with a “custom tune” vs the Phaer 3 tuning?

    • @TheLemonFactor
      @TheLemonFactor  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      A custom tune is either performed on the dyno or the street. You can send data logs to a tuner via email and the wound creat your custom tune based off of the data they see in the logs. There would be several back and forth (ie logs being sent with the tuner making adjustments) before your tune is finalized.
