  • UPDATE: 1.5 years later and this shelter is still holding up FANTASTICALLY against 5 roudy buck goats, in all kinds of crazy Michigan weather!
Our goats needed some shelter out in the fields. But between inflation and gas prices, we aren't exactly swimming in cash over here, how about you? Here we prove it's possible to build a simple SUPER CHEAP basic goat shelter using "foraged" materials! Mainly, pallets! Good old pallets, eh? They're thrown out to the curbsides, but they don't have to end up in the trash. Same with old plywood signs. Hey, it works! When our goats are happy, we're happy.
Fun fact..if we leave our goats out in the rain (even a sprinkle) they'll scream as if they're being chased by wolves. It's super dramatic. Pallet shelter to the rescue!

That would definitely make a great bike storage shed! Still holding up well a few years later!

Ah yes Goats! ours do the same thing they always find a way out!!! For our boys, we left a little spot where they can get out, they go out eat around the pasture then go back to there paddock where there shelter is. The girls we keep them in as they seem to wander more. Good luck!
