    Jason y’all some hardworking and inspirational people to those who want to do modern farming and different things and those who already are doing different things. I love your animals and the way Mary Carl is doing just about everything you and your hardworking wife and Peaches are doing. Take care.

    I like the rocks at the front of the building. They don't like water (even a little bit) especially walking through it. Our goats are on grass 100% of the time and the hoof trimming is difficult to keep up with when they do not have anything to wear them down naturally. Nice job!

    • @CogHillFarm
      @CogHillFarm  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good question....and I am sure, when they are older, we will let them out as long as we are out there with them, but I do have fences around my gardens, so I am ok there....the main thing I would worry about them destroying, would be our roses and blackberries. Thanks!

    Looks like so much nicer weather than up here in New Hampshire.Is Alabama good for growing vegetables year round? The towns do not give people a hard time for having various animals on their property?

    • @CogHillFarm
      @CogHillFarm  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks john novick !! You can grow year round but we still get hard freezes and our lowest temps are in the high 20's, but our winters are short lived.....and seem to be getting shorter every year. And for the most part, a lot of Alabama is rural & those small rural towns could careless about small livestock....the biggest/closest city to me is Selma, population around 17,500(give or take) and you can have chickens in the city, & there are certain things & criteria you have to do for larger animals, such as a horse etc
      Hey thanks for commenting & asking!!!

  • @SethHall117
    @SethHall117 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    Awesome video! I just found your channel and thinking of getting a goat or two in a few weeks. Are all your goats the smaller ones? Your fence didn't seem very high and that's one thing I'm concerned about when I start building my pin. I don't want to be goat chasing because it's too low lol.

    • @CogHillFarm
      @CogHillFarm  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Awesome The Hall Hobby Farm &!thank you!
      Yes, our goats are the little ones, Nigerian dwarfs, and my fencing is 4' high, & I don't think they can get out of it...just be cautious about any corner braces, bc they can climb very well, and do not hang any type of feeder on the fencing either.
      Also, the only reason that I used the split rail wooden fence, is just bc of the location of our pen...it's just for looks really....if the goat pen was somewhere else, I'd prob use, no climb-goat fencing instead.
      Thanks again & good luck!!

      It's flat but with a slight pitch so the water will run off....sorta like what an outhouse roof would look like. I'll try to do an update and show the finished product this week! Thanks Charlie Fulton !

      Not quite for what you call them, but Lowe’s or home Dept have them. Even our lil local place called Marvin’s has them, so they should be hard to find.

    Do you offer carpentry help. I can weld but can't get my carpentry skills up to par.
