I love the idea of the A-Frame. Can you provide any more details about how to build? I'm a novice builder, I assume you would build a rectangular base but then not sure about the top. Anything special I would need to know? I can figure out the sides.
Hi! Thanks for watching. Yeah I would start out with a rectangular base, and there’s going to be a few different ways of doing the sides. Probably the easiest thing to get an idea would be to google “A frame dog house plans” and go to images, that’ll give you a good idea. In these we basically treated it like roof trusses and has a board running down the center, attached it to the base, then cut angles at the top to attach the side board to the center board. Check out that google search tho and you’ll see a number of ways!
Great video. Quick question since I’m a newbie. Do you need to lock goats in a barn at night for their protection? If so what size shelter would u need for the night time situation? Maybe something like the larger shelter you showed at 5:48 but with a secure door?
@@TheSouthernDrawReloadedThanks for the response. Is that only because you have a guard dog? I’m just curious if I get goats and I don’t have a guard dog do I need to close them into a structure at night to protect from coyotes?
Thanks for the info, I'm glad I saw your video. I was planning on building a barn for the goats but the a frames would be way cheaper. How many goats do you run on that pasture with the A-frames? I'm in Kentucky and we can get some pretty rough weather.
Its cute to see kids climbing on things but I avoid it all together. I don't want them learning to climb. They learn to do it and It just leads to problems.
@@christiskingfjb I agee with you. It's in their nature if they have the opportunity but I just don't give them anything to climb on and they don't miss it. I saw a cool video of a guy that made these scaffolding type bridges for his goats. They went up 2 stories. It looked awesome. If you're into it, go for it! 👍🐐
Thanks for the ideas!
Hope they help!
Enjoyed the informative video!

Omg that's a great idea why didn't I see it earlier an a fram is perfect if you use hinges 😮
Very informative video!!
You could double the use of those shelters by putting solar panels on them.
Nice video
Thanks

I do not lock them in any type of structure at night. They usually sleep inside of something but they are free to come and go.

I have 12 goats currently. I’ve had as many as 30. We get some harsh storms and these have held up fine.
You have a tutorial on how to make the A frame for the goat?
Will make a video on that.
Can pallets be used for this? A frame?
That’s what I was thinking too
What part of the country do you live? I really enjoy your videos.
We’re glad you enjoy them Joel! We are in Alabama.
❤ thank you for your videos 😊
You could use this as a lil house 😂
