Just build a solid wall between the goats and chickens. No reason they can't share the same partition wall while being completely separate. Showing us a pan of the whole inside would be very helpful. Showing a tiny corner doesn't give the viewers any sense of the space and the setup. Using a 2x4 construction would have been a lot easier and not much more expensive than free pallets. I was using free pallets on my property but they are a big hassle and rot in no time out in the elements. I find them to be a temporary solution. And not to mention all of the nooks and crannies bugs like spiders and such have to make nests with the pallets all revealed on the inside.
This video shows the chicken side with a wall divider. th-cam.com/video/6p_D_1uGmV4/w-d-xo.htmlsi=tDcXFeB-R8oCiIvG
It was the middle of Covid price hikes when we built this structure. 2x4’s were $7-$8 each. For a 30x10 barn that would have been over $500 easy. Most of the pallets were free, with the exception of a few we bought that totaled $40ish. 😅 So $40 vs $500? Of course, there are things we would have done differently. We are learning by doing and are okay with that. Thanks for commenting!
@@Starry_Night_Homestead Prices were ridiculous. I'm in the process of redesigning our whole chicken and goat setup because it's not set up efficiently and is just plain ugly because I used old corrugated tin and built it as I went.
@@MickSupper yes they were! So glad some material costs have come down a bit.
